Real Housewives Of Atlanta’s Kenya Moore Is Raising Money For Education Again!

The Real Housewives of Atlanta - Season 8

Kenya Moore has always been an ardent and passionate supporter of educating America’s young people. First she slowly raised money for Detroit Public Schools and now she’s helping a Howard University student cover her tuition.

The Real Housewives Of Atlanta star started a GoFundMe page for Howard student De’Juae Leathers, who is slated to be a sophomore this coming school year but cannot afford the hefty tuition after her internship failed to pay.

Kenya is apparently something of a mentor for De’Juae, who she’s known for 5 years and “affectionately calls ‘DJ'”. De’Juae worked all summer as an intern for a mysterious Nigerian prince African ambassador (No, that’s not a joke!). TMZ reports that De’Juae assumed it was a paid internship, but unfortunately Mr. Diplomacy failed to cut her a check so now she’s short the cash necessary for her upcoming school year.

What’s the Nigerian phrase for “Small Claims Court“?

De’Juae is already receiving financial aid, but that is still not enough to cover her living expenses.

Fairy Godmother Kenya has stepped in to help De’Juae raise the $4,270 she needs, and Kenya promises she’ll match every donated dollar.

Kenya & De'Juae

“I affectionately call this young dynamic woman ‘DJ,'” shared Kenya. “She is wickedly smart and witty and has an amazing spirit. I’ve promised to match dollar for dollar for any gofundme funds raised for her to get back into Howard University.” [Credit: Instagram]

The donation deadline is Thursday.

So far, more than a quarter of the money has been raised. You can click here to donate, if you’re feeling generous. Maybe Kenya should ask NeNe Leakes to chip in?

Let’s hope Kenya is more prompt in meeting her financial obligation to De’Juae than she was with DPSF. If you recall it took Kenya about two years to finally surrender that $20k she promised – she also raised money by competing on Celebrity Apprentice).

I’m positive we’ll be seeing Kenya’s benevolence on Real Housewives Of Atlanta as Kenya embarks upon her lifelong dream as an ambassador for the higher education of America’s girls. First assignment: how to land a African prince whose checks don’t bounce and whose favorite outfit isn’t an invisibility cloak. #Goals.

TELL US – WILL YOU DONATE TO DE’JUAE? WILL KENYA ACTUALLY CUT HER THE PROMISED CHECK?
