Kate Chastain battery case

Below Deck Star Kate Chastain’s Battery Case Will Go To Trial

Below Deck viewers just saw Kate Chastain get a surprise visit from her now ex-girlfriend Rocio Hernandez aka Ro on the most recent episode. They were lovey dovey and all over each other, which is such a stark contrast from where they are in “real time” these days.

Kate was charged with battery after she allegedly attacked Ro in June and the case is set to go to trial. The trial is scheduled for November 7th after the state formally charged Kate with battery domestic violence and domestic battery by strangulation.

It’s hard to know what actually happened between the former girlfriends, but the allegations are pretty damn brutal. Florida Today reported that Kate “went into a fit of rage” after a night out at the bar on June 11, 2016.

Supposedly, Kate physically attacked Ro. It’s being alleged in the police report that she “bit her girlfriend on the forearm, inner bicep, and leg; held her down and strangled her; put her knee on her head and pulled her hair; and covered her mouth and pinched her nose so she couldn’t breathe.”

Kate Chastain’s Lawyer Speaks Out – Maintains That Kate Is Innocent

Wow. That sounds like a very intense situation. And it is such a far cry from the super affectionate couple we saw on the show that was all over each other and constantly texting each other while Kate was on charter season.

It will definitely be interesting to see how this all plays out and it will most likely come up if there’s a Below Deck reunion episode this season.
