Dorit Kemsley

Dorit Kemsley Felt Bad That Lisa Rinna Was On The Outs With The Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills Cast In Mexico

I never thought I would say this, but I am really starting to come around to liking Dorit Kemsley on Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. I don’t know if she’s become more likable as we learn more about her or if Eden Sassoon and Lisa Rinna’s antics can make anyone look good. I actually think it’s a combination of both. Even after her own issues with Rinna and her clear allegiance Kyle Richards, Dorit couldn’t help feeling bad for Rinna.

I totally get why Rinna got an icy reception when she showed up for the RHOBH cast’s trip to Mexico and I am so against her right now for “forgetting” that she told Eden that Kim Richards is “close to death”- not that I actually know her, but I am just way too invested in this group of people and I cannot help forming strong opinions. Nevertheless, I do feel bad for anyone who is on the outs or feels ostracized and surprisingly enough so does Dorit!

Unfortunately for the fans, Dorit was actually a week behind with her Bravo blog entry.  But you know what they say, “better late than never.” And I was super curious about how Dorit would respond when the “villain” label that she was immediately assigned moved over to two other people. I figured that she would just jump on the band wagon and be happy that the spotlight is off of her, but she seems to feel pretty compassionately for everyone involved.

This is pretty shocking to me since I absolutely could not stand her when she wouldn’t let go of the fact that Erika Girardi didn’t wear undies one time and talked about it for MANY EPISODES, but maybe she’s changing? Plus, it’s so hard hating on someone whose kids are super adorable.

But anyway, this is what Dorit had to say about the RHOBH episode that started off with Lisa Rinna’s awkward AF arrival. Dorit began “Wow, this episode was really interesting.” That’s for god damn sure. Shit really got heated and there was a flood of Rinna tears to deal with.

Dorit continued, “We first started off at the pool, and it was such a bright and sunny day in beautiful Mexico. When Lisa R arrived, it was a little awkward, because I wasn’t sure how Kyle was going to react, but she mostly kept to herself.” Kyle was in a very awkward spot there. She obviously had to avenge Kim after Rinna told Eden that Kyle enables her substance issues, but she also was hosting all of these ladies at a big event for her husband Mauricio Umansky’s business. I’m sure she wanted to annihilate Rinna, but she also wanted to rep the family business and not ruin anything for Mauricio. It was probably a tough spot to be in.

Dorit said what I was thinking while watching the episode: “It was really uncomfortable when Lisa R. confronted Kyle. It was unfortunate to happen on a big night of celebrating for Mauricio and Kyle.” It was crazy to me how Rinna seemed to have no idea what she did, but she knew she had to to address the situation with Kyle. On one hand, it was something important that needed to be talked about immediately. On the other hand, did she need to pull Kyle away from her husband’s event? Couldn’t she have waited until the next morning? She was damned if she did and damned if she didn’t. And the real victim in all of this is Kim who wasn’t even on this trip and is someone that people keep forgetting is not actually a cast member on this show anymore.

Like I said before, I am so done with Rinna– as if I have something to do with this friend group- but I could see why Dorit would feel bad to see Rinna break down the way she did. Dorit explained, “When I saw Lisa R. go outside, I was concerned and wanted to make sure she was alright. I never want to see any of the girls upset, and I can’t bear it when someone is crying. It breaks my heart, and all I want to do is hug them.” I get her on that. Plus, there was no reasoning with Rinna- let alone confronting her and putting her in her place- while she was caught up in her cry fest.

The episode wasn’t totally Rinna-centered though- just about 99.9%. There were some other things that happened. In Dorit’s mind, a major part of the episode was the separation she and PK Kemsley felt being on vacation without their adorable children.

Dorit wrote, “It was tough to see when PK and I called home and Jagger started saying, ‘Hello Mamma.’ I lost it. It felt so good to hear his voice and those words, but it killed me to be away from him and to think he missed me. PK and I wanted to enjoy our vacation, but I also couldn’t wait to go back and be with the kids.”

Another moment that pretty much only Dorit cared about was when she “won” that Birkin bag from PK by jumping off the boat into the water. Dorit said, “Although I’m afraid of sharks, when PK offers me a Birkin if I jump off the boat, oh you know I’ll do it!” Get yours, girl.

Another moment that could not go without being discussed- especially since I’ll never be able to eras the visual from my mind –  is when Rinna decided to channel her inner Erika Jayne and distract from everyone in the cast hating on her by dancing on the table. Dorit wrote. “The moment when Lisa R. got on the table and did the music video dancing was pretty incredible! I never knew she could do that. I think Erika may have some competition. Ha!” Is she complimenting Rinna’s moves or shading Erika? Maybe both.

Personally I cannot help laughing when I look back at how harshly Rinna judged Erika when they first met based on that music video that she imitated. I’m sure Erika appreciated the irony (and imitation) with that one. Alliances Friendships are pretty interesting on this show- that’s for sure.

Dorit concluded, “I was pleased that we could all put the events of the previous night behind us and just have a laugh. At the end of the day, that’s what life’s about. Let’s just all try to have some fun and laugh.” Yeah, for now. Based on the mid-season trailer, there is clearly a lot of drama ahead and as we all know: drama will always take priority over harmony and laughter when it comes to Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.
