It is tough for any outsider to understand the relationship dynamics within the Vanderpump Rules cast. They’re always fighting, breaking up, making up, and hanging out with their exes (and their significant others’ exes) on a regular basis. This show started out as the Jax Taylor and Stassi Schroeder show. That felt like a whole lifetime ago since so much has happened since then and Jax is dating Brittany Cartwright (who is friends with Stassi now).
Jax, Stassi, Brittany, (Jax’s previous hookup) Kristen Doute, and another one of Jax’s exes Rachael O’Brien all got together in Jax’s home state of Michigan to honor Jax’s father who recently passed away.
Stassi opened up about her decision to attend her ex’s dad’s memorial along with Jax’s other exes and his current girlfriend during an episode of her Straight Up With Stassi podcast. She shared, “Right away, I felt like this need to go. I knew him. He was always so kind to me. His family is so kind to me. His son isn’t, but the rest of his family is.”
Stassi made it clear that she’s very much aware of how strange it seems that all of these people would come together. She said, “I think it’s a wonderful thing that we all came together. Kristen Doute came with us and Brittany was up there. We looked kind of to the outside, well ridiculous. It’s Jax’s two ex girlfriends and the girl who he hooked up with and then his new girlfriend. It looks ridiculous, but it did not f-cking matter.”
She continued, “A lot of people were like ‘This is so weird’ and it’s not actually. May that be a lesson about just putting aside differences for the sake of something better. There are more important things than the pettiness of what we fight over.”
Even though Stassi made it clear that she and Jax are far from being best friends, she did admit, “I was getting really annoyed because I was seeing people on Twitter write mean things to Jax like ‘you’re getting what you deserve.’ Disgusting, gross shit.” She added, “His amazing father passed away. This is my problem with Twitter. It’s awful. Hopefully we can inspire someone out there to swallow pride for the sake of something good in at least once instance.”
Stassi concluded, “We are not on the best terms with Jax at all. He’s our ex boyfriend, who has done terrible things, not only to us, but to our friend Brittany. We’re not the biggest fans, but sometimes you have to swallow your pride just for the greater good. And Ron Cauchi was a wonderful man. I will end on that.”
