Bethenny Frankel And Jason Hoppy’s Therapist Quit Due To Their “Level Of Conflict”

To say that Real Housewives of New York star Bethenny Frankel has had a rough time lately would be an understatement. Her on-and-off love Dennis Shields died from a suspected drug overdose in August of 2018. Fans of RHONY recently saw Bethenny confide in her co-stars that Dennis had proposed. He even gave her daughter, Bryn Hoppy, a ring before his untimely death. That is so sad!

Then came the health scares. Bethenny experienced a severe allergic reaction to fish, which landed her in the ICU. In fact, Bethenny’s new man, Paul Bernon, is credited with saving her life. She was also recently diagnosed with “leaky gut syndrome.”

Of course, the drama between Bethenny and her ex-husband, Jason Hoppy, has reached a fever pitch again. Bethenny finally divorced Jason in 2016, but their legal battle over their daughter Bryn is raging on. In an article in US Weekly, Bethenny is now requesting sole custody of Bryn. “The father’s behavior before and after their marriage is extremely harmful to Bryn. His abusive behavior towards her not only damages her relationship with her mother, but to everyone else in her life,” Bethenny’s attorney alleges. The fight has turned even nastier (is that even possible?) with Bethenny testifying that Jason “used FaceTime to taunt me” almost twice each day. Wouldn’t it be great if the adults could act like, you know…adults?

According to an article in Page Six,  this duo’s relationship was so toxic that it drove an expert parent coordinator to step away. Dr. Mosseri was hired to help the bitter couple civilly co-parent their only daughter, Bryn. At this point, the exes were still cohabitating. It seems like cohabitating while co-parenting is a recipe for disaster, much like this couple’s short-lived marriage.

“Dear Bethenny and Jason, I’m afraid that in light of the level of conflict between the two of you, the lack of willingness to compromise … you will be better off with another [parent coordinator],” Dr. Mosseri wrote in an email dated July 8, 2015. During his 12-year career, Dr. Mosseri has only ever quit on two occasions. Yikes!

“I was able to get through to the mother to some degree. I didn’t feel at the time that I was able to get through to the father,” the therapist testified. Jason complained “that she uses her child, which she nicknamed Peanut, in the media. Everybody knew who Peanut was, that she tweets about her … that she one time wore her child’s pajamas in front of the newspapers and that was inappropriate.”

Dr. Mosseri added, “I believe he had his own idea of what was in the best interest of his child and stuck to it.” And while the Skinnygirl mogul was more willing to compromise, Dr. Mosseri also labeled her “controlling.”

Later that day, Bethenny was questioned by Jason’s attorney about the death of Bethenny’s former love, Dennis.  When asked if Dennis had an opioid addiction, Bethenny said, “I don’t know.” Bethenny also fielded questions about her relationship with Paul, or more precisely, when their relationship began. Bethenny said that in 2017, her relationship with Paul was put on pause. Their relationship had resumed about one month after Dennis’ death.

Hopefully, both Bethenny and Jason can learn to put Bryn’s welfare above all else and be civil for their daughter’s sake.
