Lisa Vanderpump Apologizes To Kelly Dodd After Claiming Kelly Didn’t Pay Bill And Was Banned From Restaurants; Kelly Says Lisa Is A “Known Liar”

While several members of the Real Housewives of Orange County cast have been involved in their fair share of controversies, no housewife is more divisive than Kelly Dodd. It started with her low-blow attacks on her castmates regarding their age, appearances and more. Last year, she took it to another level when she made insensitive comments about the coronavirus pandemic and wore a hat that mocked the Black Lives Matter movement. She’s since apologized for her “stupid” comments, but even Kelly thinks she’s probably getting the boot before Season 16. But who knows, because Andy Cohen doesn’t necessarily think she’s problematic.

And now Kelly has found herself in a controversy with former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Lisa Vanderpump. But, somehow, LVP was the one admitting to a lie and apologizing to Kelly. I know, it’s very off-brand for these two.

It started when Lisa shaded Kelly’s behavior at her LA-based restaurants in a recent episode of Overserved With Lisa Vanderpump. LVP was playing truth or dare with Tori Spelling and Jeff Lewis, when Tori asked if any celebs were outright banned from Lisa’s restaurants. Lisa teased that it was a real housewife, which led Tori to guess that it was Kelly, according to heavy

“Yeah she kind of came into Pump and didn’t pay a bill,” Lisa dished. “(She’s) not royalty like you,” she laughed with Jeff. Kelly is no stranger to causing a ruckus in restaurants (remember her blowup with Shannon Beador at the Quiet Woman?), so it seemed possible that this could’ve gone down.

Kelly, never one to be silent on social media when people are trashing her, headed to Twitter. She tweeted a link to a story about Lisa’s comments, saying it was, “A LIE.” “A) it was 6yrs ago. b) I was a guest of Vicki [Gunvalson]& her friends c) I paid my share & have the receipt & showed it back then on social media. It was others who didn’t pay! No wonder Villa Blanca went under,” Kelly said. Of course, since Lisa started the rumor, Kelly had to respond by being 10 times more intense and vicious.

“Oh & by the way @LisaVanderpump your food sucks & so does your service. Check your Yelp reviews. I wouldn’t come back anyway,” Kelly wrote. The real question is, did Jax Taylor make her a shitty drink? Did Scheana Shay have to deal with the dispute over the bill? These two digs from Kelly are truly astonishing because she manages to shade Lisa, several of her businesses, the Vanderpump Rules cast and Vicki. However, she’s since deleted those tweets after the dust settled.

It didn’t end there — a fan called out Kelly for not dissing the food and service until she was called out. Kelly responded, “I complained at the time and never went back. Why would I write about somewhere I never go?” And another fan wrote to Kelly that the truth always comes out, and she threw another dig at Lisa’s job as a housewife. “She’s a known liar ! That’s why she left BH..” We know LVP would say she was bullied to the point where she wouldn’t return unless the whole cast was fired, so this definitely hit a nerve.

Many LVP stans came to the defense of the restaurants, commending the food and service. One fan wrote, “And Villa only closed because of the affects of the pandemic.” Lisa responded to clear up Kelly’s statement, which was definitely intended to stir the pot. “After fourteen years the lease expired, it would’ve stayed open until March but for COVID,” Lisa said.

But LVP is a smart businesswoman after all, and decided to be the bigger person and apologize to Kelly. I’m sure the RHOBH girls, especially Kyle Richards, Dorit Kemsley and Lisa Rinna, were shocked to see their former castmate admit fault. “Gosh of course I was told there was a problem and you didn’t pay, I was away but of course whatever you say,” Lisa tweeted at Kelly. “I apologize if there was such a fiasco and apologize on behalf of all my staff. Would love to host you.”

Kelly accepted her apology but was definitely trying to take advantage of LVP bowing down to her. “Thanks for your apology. I’m just confused why you’d say I was banned when in fact I was the subject of false and defamatory allegations and cleared this up five years ago. I’d appreciate a post on your feeds to clear this up.” Kelly is truly milking this, and honestly who could blame her? It’s not often she has a leg to stand on in an argument.

LVP responded by saying she heard the night was a “complete fiasco” and kissed up to Kelly even more. “I’m sorry you will be the guest of honor if you come next time,” Lisa wrote. Kelly even posted screenshots of the apology on Instagram, to let everyone know that she was right for once.

Does this mean that even if Kelly gets the boot from RHOC, she might be the guest star of honor on a future ep of Pump Rules? That is if Season 9 ever actually happens.
