Kenya Moore Real Housewives Of Atlanta

Kenya Moore Praises NeNe Leakes’ Late Husband Gregg Leakes As “One Of The Nicest Men” She’s Ever Met; Says It Was A “No Brainer” To Attend His Memorial Regardless Of Her Drama With NeNe

The future of the Real Housewives of Atlanta may be up in the air in terms of next season’s cast, but that didn’t stop Kenya Moore and show alum past and present from showing up for OG NeNe Leakes at such a difficult time. The former beauty queen was doing press for her new gig as a competitor on ABC’s Dancing with the Stars and opened up to Entertainment Tonight about her decision to attend the memorial service of NeNe’s late husband Gregg Leakes. Of her decision to attend, the star called it a “no-brainer.”

Kenya pointed out that no matter where her friendship with NeNe stood, that Gregg never treated her any differently. He was always kind towards her. Kenya went on to say, “Honestly, he is one of the nicest men I’ve ever met in my life.”

Gregg was indeed one of the most beloved husbands of RHOA. His lighthearted humor and the nuggets of wisdom he shared on the show were a delight to watch. It was a nice reprieve to some of the heavier, shadier themes of the show. The father of 6 passed away on Sept 1, succumbing to his battle with colon cancer which was partially documented on the show’s 11th season. He was 66 years old.

Sadly, it is oftentimes the death of a loved one that tends to bring people together and help mend broken fences. Kenya and NeNe’s infamous feud seems so petty and insignificant at this time.

The memorial brought out RHOA stars past and present. This attendees included Phaedra Parks, Eva Marcille, Marlo Hampton, Porsha Williams, Drew Sidora, Kim Zolciak, Shamea Morton, and Lisa Wu.

Kenya flew to Atlanta, for Gregg’s celebration of life amidst preparing for her debut on the upcoming 30th season of DWTS. She felt that the tone was one of happiness as Gregg would have wanted it that way. She states, “So even though it was hard for me to be there, it seemed like she got what she wanted, for people to smile. And I think he would’ve been happy about that.”

A person’s true character is tested when it comes to matters of life and death. At the end of the day, all anyone wants is love, compassion and support. It’s great to see Kenya put her differences with NeNe aside to commemorate Gregg’s life.
