Kandi Burruss And Husband Todd Tucker Accused Of Owing $23K In Back Taxes

Kandi Burruss has been the longtime voice of reason on Real Housewives of Atlanta. She’s also the most down to earth one, despite likely being the richest housewife on the franchise. Kandi is notorious for being responsible with money and not flashing what she has. Instead of blowing it, she’s used her money to create more businesses, most notably a few restaurants in the Atlanta area.

But now Kandi seems to have fallen victim to what so many other housewives get themselves into. Tax liens. Kandi where did it all go wrong!? Say it ain’t so. Sadly, it is. As reported by Radar Online, Kandi and husband, Todd Tucker’s Burruss Tucker Restaurant Group is being hit with a federal tax lien. They were hit with the paperwork on November 17th. The lien is alleging that Kandi and Todd failed to pay a portion of their small business taxes. Specifically, $2,520 for the quarter. Isn’t this chump change to Kandi?

Unfortunately, this isn’t the first time the two have run into tax issues. Two other liens have been filed against Kandi in the last 6 months. Kandi was already accused of not paying $15,812.52 to the IRS back in June. Then August, yet another lien was filed for $5,156 for the quarter. Their tax debt now totals $23,488.52. According to documents, none of the liens have been released by the IRS. Which means that they haven’t been paid. Kandi hasn’t said anything about it publicly either.

To make matters even worse, this isn’t the first time Kandi and Todd’s restaurants have gotten into hot water. Back in May, one of their restaurants, Blaze, was temporarily shut down after failing a health inspection. The report claimed that the inspector even observed an employee touching raw food without washing their hands. The report stated, “Food handler touched raw oysters and raw salmon and then proceeded to handle ready to eat leafy greens with the same gloves on improperly. Moving from raw food to ready-to-eat foods is a source of cross-contamination.” The restaurant was awarded a C grade by the Georgia Department of Public Health.

I hold Kandi in high regard when it comes to housewives and their money. She just seems so…responsible. So she’s the last one I would have guessed owed money to the IRS. Here’s hoping that she pays it off soon and gets back to being my Fiscally Responsible Housewives Queen.
