Eboni K. Williams Ramona Singer Real Housewives Of New York

Eboni K. Williams Explains Why Ramona Singer Shouldn’t Be Fired

Real Housewives of New York is in dire need of resuscitation. It could actually be the one thing Ramona Singer and Luann de Lesseps agree on. And while some viewers aren’t willing to let Eboni K. Williams’ second season bitch-flower bloom, others are sick of watching Ramona (quite literally) shit on the franchise. To make it more confusing, Eboni has recently revealed she and her former “friend” on the show, Leah McSweeney, are nothing more than “colleagues.” So where does that leave us cast-wise?

Against the wishes of viewers and some cast-members, Eboni has a penchant for objectivity. She’s been lumped into a complaint made against her most elder cast-mate. One that claims Ramona said something to the effect of “This is why we shouldn’t have Black people on the show.”

Since, Eboni has weighed in with Page Six about her thoughts regarding the RHONY cast and the future of the franchise. The first Black woman to star on the franchise doesn’t think Ramona’s golden apple is ready for the compost bin quite yet. Said Eboni, “If I’m just looking at what was on the show, I don’t think anything on the show warrants the firing of Ramona.”

Regarding her belief that Ramona should still have a seat on the show, Eboni said, “That is my opinion.” She explained that the eco-system of Real Housewives requires a certain amount of diversity. And not with regards to race and ethnicity. “Andy [Cohen] kind of speaks to this in different interviews — and I agree with him: Ramona’s way of thinking and the way she presents on the show is very representative of a significant portion of our country, OK?”

“If the answer is, ‘Well, we don’t like that,’ or, ‘We’re going to decide that is not “mainstream” and we’re going to silence it,’” Eboni continued, “[Then], personally, I think that’s where radicalization and other really dangerous things take place.” Open minded queen. Take a note.

Despite Ramona having to physically remove herself from any conversation not centered on herself and her exact point of view, Eboni values her presence. “The gag is I enjoy Ramona Singer, I really do. There’s a lot of quirky personality elements that we actually share in terms of taste and lifestyle,” she noted.

Eboni said, “We’re both savvy businesswomen, we’re both about our coins, we’re both about being self-made … We have points of connectivity, fun and similarities.”

Personally, I would love to see a relationship blossom between these two. I just don’t have a lot of hope for that to happen. Eboni maintains that she is very aware of Ramona’s “limitations” when it comes to bond-building. I think anyone who watched Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip can agree. Seeing Ramona in the wild was truly a spectacle.
