Kelly Dodd Removed From Event Guest List After Transphobic Social Media Post

I want to ask when will Kelly Dodd learn? But I don’t think the former Real Housewives of Orange County cast member really wants to. I think she is who she is and she enjoys the attention she gets for her controversial views. And she has been called out many, many times. Sometimes, she gives an insincere apology. Other times, she doesn’t bother or lashes out. But her latest hot take has gotten her kicked off a guest list.

As reported by Radar Online, Kelly was planning on attention a large club event in L.A. this weekend. The guest list is packed with big names from L.A. and New York. Not sure how Kelly got on the guest list to begin with but that’s neither here nor there. Well, Kelly lost her chance after a transphobic post she made on Instagram. The post has since been deleted but featured an image of women’s genitals throughout the years. The timeline ultimately ended in 2020 with the female body featuring a “member.” Her comment read, “Payback is a bitch.” Whatever that means?

The backlash from the LGBTQ+ community was swift. The event coordinator, DJ Ryan Kenney, issued a statement on the matter. They said, “King Sundays has postponed the invite to Kelly Dodd to join us tomorrow.” They continued, “We do not condone Kelly’s recent post. However, we are happy to help educate her. Kelly has invited myself and a member of the trans community to join her on her podcast to talk about LGBTQ+ issues, in an effort to learn how she can be a better ally.”

While the statement made it seem like there was no bad blood over the incident, Kelly made a statement of her own. On a post that features a picture of her announcing her planned attendance at the event, she blamed “cancel culture.” Her post read, “Cancel culture strikes again !!! Was looking forward to helping host this event with my very good friend @djryankenney but apparently some people have lost their sense of humor. Swipe right to see why I got disinvited.” If you swipe, it features the image of her deleted post.

Kelly continued, “The intolerance is so sad & counterproductive since we can’t have conversations and share thoughts & perspectives if we’re not together. I love all people & just wish tolerance worked both ways. The hypocrisy is real!” The party is still on for the weekend, minus one.

TELL US – DO YOU THINK THAT KELLY SHOULD HAVE BEEN DISINVITED? IS CANCEL CULTURE TO BLAME FOR HER BEING BLACKBALLED ALL OVER TOWN?
