It’s official! Following weeks of speculation, ABC has officially confirmed Brad Womack will be returning as the new Bachelor.

The announcement came during last night’s episode of Dancing With The Stars.  For those of you not familiar with Brad, he was the season 11 Bachelor back in 2007, and became infamous after dumping both of his final two picks.

ABC is however claiming Brad, 37, is now a changed man.  According to the network, Brad has undergone “intensive therapy” and has been on a “quite painful journey of self-awareness” since the 2007 fiasco.

Brad, a Texas bar owner, is also set to appear on the Ellen show today, during which he will admit to having some “commitment issues” in the past.

“More importantly, that [Bachelor] process is difficult,” said Brad in the Ellen interview. “I thought that I was as open as I was supposed to be and clearly I wasn’t. I walked away and wound up all alone and left two girls standing there.”

Brad also assures fans of the show that things will be different this go.  “I know it’s tough to believe it’s a television show but…I am a completely different person. I don’t want to visit that thought.”

Moving right along to last night’s Dancing With The Stars episode.  For the most part, all of the stars showed major improvement over their first dance with the sole exception of Michael Bolton, who earned the lowest score of the night – a 12 for his dull jive, which Bruno called the worst jive dance in the history of the show.

Despite being toted as the one to beat, Brandy and partner Maksim failed to impress last night, falling to the middle of the pack with a score of 21.  The highest score of the night once again went to Jennifer Grey, scoring a 24 for her impressive quickstep dance.

A full recap of last night’s scores below -

Jennifer Grey & Derek Hough: 24
Audrina Patridge & Tony Dovolani: 23
Bristol Palin & Mark Ballas: 22
Kyle Massey & Lacey Schwimmer: 22
Brandy & Maksim Chmerkovskiy: 21
Kurt Warner & Anna Trebunskaya: 21
Rick Fox & Cheryl Burke: 21
Florence Henderson & Corky Ballas: 19

TELL US – WHO SHOULD BE SENT HOME ON TONIGHT’S DWTS?

In new court documents obtained by RadarOnline, Real Housewives of Orange County star Tamra Barney makes some shocking allegations against her estranged husband Simon Barney.

According to RadarOnline, in the court documents which Tamra used to obtain a temporary restraining order against Simon, she alleges she suffered longtime physical and verbal abuse in his hands.

The court documents, issued in an Orange County courtroom September 23, allege that Simon physically assaulted her repeatedly during their 11-year marriage, as “his angry outbursts occurred, and continue to occur in the presence of our children.”

It doesn’t end there as Tamra states she did not break her silence on the alleged abuse until now because she “wrongfully believed that maybe these violent acts could be rationalized, and also due to embarrassment [she] did not report these instances of physical abuse in the past.”

In the docs, Tamra also alleges that last August, Simon told their 4-year-old daughter he wanted to change his cell phone ring tone to the sound of howling dogs for any calls he would receive from her mother.

As reported over the weekend, the Orange County DA’s office has decided to drop the domestic violence charges against Simon due to lack of sufficient evidence.  You can read what Simon had to say following that news here.

I don’t like to add my opinion on these types of stories, and from reading the previous comments, it seems a lot of people are split when it comes to who they believe.  I’ve made it clear over the years that Tamra is one of my least favorite housewives but I must say I’m more inclined to believe her side in this.  Why? Well, mainly based on Simon’s behavior on the last season of the OC Housewives. His very controlling behavior just seems to fall in line with that of abusers, but who knows?

After taking off last season of Dancing With The Stars, professional dancer Karina Smirnoff is now opening up about her current dancing ‘Situation,’ her new boyfriend, and working with her former fiance.

In the interview with Access Hollywood, Karina discusses dancing with Jersey Shore’s The Situation. “He hasn’t hit on me! And I’m taking it as an insult,” Karina joked about the rumors the two would end up hooking up. “Like, what am I? A grenade?”

In Jersey Shore terms, a grenade is an unattractive female. “We’re like brother and sister,” Karina adds, however making it clear the two do have some chemistry. “We laugh, we definitely have some flirtatious kind of mystery.”

Another reason we shouldn’t expect a Karina/Situation hookup? Well, for one Karina has a boyfriend. Karina, who has been dating pro baseball player Brad Penny for months now, says Brad and The Situation have become buddies. “They love each other and they exchanged phone numbers,” she said.

Karina also opens up about having to work with her former fiance Maksim Chmerkovskiy, who is now partnered up with Brandy. Karina and Maksim broke off their engagement exactly a year ago.

“I was a little concerned about that coming into this season and that was one of the main reasons why I wanted last season off,” she told AH. “It’s cool… It’s my job; I love what I do; I love dancing; I love choreographing and I get paid for it so it’s pretty much you know perfect scenario, perfect situation. I wish him all the best.”

Moving on to tonight’s episode of DWTS. What can we expect? According to TMZ, Bristol Palin will be dancing the quickstep to “You Can’t Hurry Love,” Audrina Patridge will be dancing the quickstep as well to “Love Machine,” and The Situation will also be dancing the quickstep to “We No Speak Americano.”

Multiple outlets also reported last week that following the season premiere no show, Sarah Palin will be in attendance tonight.

As reported weeks ago, fired Real Housewives of New Jersey star Danielle Staub has two spin-off shows in the works.

The first show, a show she will reportedly host about the lifestyles of the rich and famous, has been picked up by the WealthTV network, a network most are not familiar with.

Well, RadarOnline is now reporting it is Danielle’s other spin-off show, the one based on her personal life, that has the networks in a frenzy, with most major networks vying to sign her, Bravo included.

“Danielle has been taking meetings with networks and production companies and so far there’s a solid offer from a major network,” a source told Radar.

According to Radar, VH1 is the major network that has made Danielle an offer. Danielle also met up with Bravo last Thursday, though Bravo has yet to make an official offer. Other networks Dirty D met up with? A&E, WE tv and CBS.

“Everyone’s interested because it’s all about the star behind the reality star-her life as a mom, manager, musician, her relationships and her private life,” adds Danielle the source.

Avid Bachelor watcher, Elisabeth Hasselbeck of The View, is not happy with ABC’s reported choice for the next Bachelor.

As we reported last week, the buzz is that indecisive former Bachelor, Brad Womack, has been chosen once again to be the next Bachelor.

“Ugh!” she told UsWeekly. “Translation: They couldn’t find somebody!” Elisabeth might be onto something as several media outlets have reported that ABC’s first choice, Chris Lambton, turned them down.

Brad, 27, became infamous in 2007 when he left the final two women, DeAnna Pappas and Jenni Croft, broken hearted by not choosing either of them. At the time, the Bachelor was still somewhat of a classy show, hence Brad’s decision shocking fans of the show.

Elisabeth, 33, feels that Brad doesn’t deserve a second shot at love, at least not on TV. “He didn’t have enough choices before? How many women do you need, Brad?” she asked. “They should really reevaluate that one.”

In other Bachelor news, Entertainment Weekly is confirming ABC will officially announce the new Bachelor on tonight’s episode of Dancing With The Stars.

The OC Register is reporting today that the Orange County District Attorney’s Office has decided to drop the domestic violence charges against Simon Barney due to a lack of sufficient evidence.

The Real Housewives of Orange County star and estranged husband of Tamra Barney was arrested early Tuesday morning on domestic violence charges.  Tamra called the cops on Simon after alleging he threw a plastic dog leash at her during an argument.

According to the OC Register, the case was submitted to the O.C. District Attorney’s Office on Friday morning. It was reviewed and the DA’s office ultimately declined to file charges.

“It just shows that justice is blind, but it’s not stupid,” said Simon to the Register on Friday. “It’s not gullible, and it’s not persuaded by fame.”

Simon issued a statement on Wednesday denying the allegations, claiming Tamra made up the story in an attempt to get sole custody of their three children together.  Simon alleged Tamra’s motivation was the fact that he refused to allow Bravo cameras to film their kids.

Simon also told the OC Register on Friday that Tamra’s allegations were motivated by jealousy.  “Tammy ran into my new girlfriend,” he said, adding that he’s been dating her for about two months.

As we reported yesterday, Tamra was granted a temporary restraining order against Simon, banning him from getting within 100 feet of her and limiting the time he can spend their kids.  As part of the restraining order, Simon was forced to hand in his firearm to law enforcement authorities.

Tamra is however denying Simon’s accusations via a text message to the Register.  The “network has never put pressure on Simon to have the kids on the show … Ever! And Bravo is not happy he is saying that! They simply asked if the kids could be on the main title shoot last week and he said ‘NO’ and they said ‘thank you’.”

She continued, “I did not want the kids on the show this year unless it was a situation where me, Simon and the kids were doing something together as a family. Just cuz your [sic] divorcing doesn’t mean you we do not attend our childrens activities together… It breaks my heart that he has acted that way in front of the children and I hope he gets the help he needs to control his anger. I never wanted him arrested. The cops made that decision for me.”

Simon adds that Tamra is lying.  “I don’t want to be part of the show, part of the media; I want to go on with my life,” he said. “I don’t want any part of fame. It’s destructive. It’s a drug. I’m still the same person I was five years ago.”

Former Hills’ star Lauren Conrad is finally confirming that she is indeed working on a reality show.

Lauren confirmed the news on Friday to The Hollywood Reporter. The new reality series will follow the 24-year-old fashion designer as she creates a line of evening wear and launches her label. The show is set to air on the MTV network, which was also home to her previous reality shows — Laguna Beach and The Hills.

“I’m so excited to take on this new project that really focuses on my true passion,” Conrad told THR. “I’m happy to be partnering with MTV because I have had such an amazing relationship with them and love being a part of the network.”

Lauren stresses that the show will be based her professional life and not her personal life, citing that her actor boyfriend Kyle Howard “will not be on it.”
