Tonight brings us the fifth week of Dancing With The Stars. The theme for tonight is ‘Movie Night.’ The eight remaining couples will be doing the Jive, Quickstep, Cha Cha Cha, Tango, Foxtrot and Rumba to iconic songs from famous films such as “Pulp Fiction,” “Breakfast Club” and “Risky Business,” among others.
Niecy Nash and Louis Van Amstel will reportedly be dancing the Jive to “La Bamba,” while rumored couple Erin Andrews and partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy will also dance the Jive to the “Pulp Fiction” movie.
The most interesting dance of the night will likely be The Bachelor’sJake Pavelka who will sporting his tighty whiteys to recreate Tom Cruise’s popular underwear scene from RiskyBusiness, set to the tune of “Old Time Rock ‘n Roll.” Nicole Scherzinger and Derek Hough will be dancing the Tango to a scene from Pretty Woman. Another rumored couple Chad Ochocinco and Cheryl Burke will perform a Quickstep to “The Bare Necessities” from The Jungle Book.
TELL US – WHAT ARE YOUR THOUGHTS ON TONIGHT’S EPISODE OF DWTS?
Courtney Yate’s elimination on this week’s Survivor came as no surprise, but what did come as a surprise was JT’s move to give his opponent/villain Russell Hantz his immunity idol, on his suspicion of a villain all girl alliance. Some are calling this one of the dumbest moves ever on Survivor.
In a new interview with Entertainment Weekly, Courtney,29, discuses being eliminated, what she really thinks of Russell and shares her thoughts on JT’s big move.
Excerpts from Courtney’s interview below:
Let me start by asking, are you allergic to challenges?
I am, in fact, allergic to challenges. It’s actually in my contract that I play the least amount of any Survivor.
I hate not seeing you flounder around with limbs flying everywhere, and then last night you finally partake in a crazy challenge, yet instead of seeing you we had to watch Colby and Russell have a chat. I know! I did a fine job during that challenge. And Amanda was proud of me and you know, you can’t catch a break. They always want to highlight me when I’m messing up, but when you do it good it’s glossed right over!
How often do you think about how different everything could have been had Tyson just not voted himself out of the game?
You can’t spend your life looking backwards, and being in this community you end up seeing these people who three years later are like, “Well, at the final 7 if this person had done this…” and you’re like, “Wow, you need to move on.” It didn’t work out. I had an amazing time. I’m lucky to be on the jury. I’m honored to have been asked to be an all-star. I think it’s insane that someone thinks of lady all-stars and thinks of me! I was more disappointed for Rob and Tyson actually than for myself, because those boys were playing really well and…well, I guess I don’t feel sorry for Tyson.
I don’t think we saw you and Russell have a single one-on-one conversation the entire time you were out there. Did you have any conversations about anything — like did he ever take you aside to tell you how awesome he is?
He did. Russell and I had a lot of conversations. A lot of them weren’t camera worthy because they were all about how much could he get for his autograph and how much money he could get for going to different places. And I was just looking at him going, “Russell, no one cares about your autograph! I think you have a different idea of what is going to happen.” Because he only had 10 days between the two seasons, so he’s like, “I’m Russell Hantz! I’m king of the world! I’m big!” And we were all like, “No one cares! The instant this show is off the air no one is going to know who you are! They’re going to see you in line at Burger King and go ‘Didn’t I used to work with you?’” Besides that we talked about Popeyes chicken and what we would eat in New York. Russell is fine. I think he figured out early on that he couldn’t Russell minf— me so I was just useless to him so we’re perfectly fine. I don’t have any hatred towards Russell. I think he’s a great player. He’s the evolution of what the game is. He’s redefining it around himself and everyone’s delighted with it. So how can you be mad at that?
Did you know that J.T. had given Russell the idol?
I did not know. I found out after. I mean, poor kid. He did what he thought was the right thing. He didn’t know. He was making a move and trying to keep his group together and I think he knew he had a big target on his back. He made a big move trying to save himself and stay ahead of the pack. I don’t think he has it in him to be a more subtle player.
Interesting that you only lost four pounds while out there.
It wasn’t very hard. There were coconuts everywhere. There were bananas for the most part. In China there was literally nothing to eat so we sat around staring at each other all day dreaming about food. Plus, once you’ve been through it you know that you can do it, so it’s not this terrifying I’m-actually-going-to-wake-up-and-be-dead-tomorrow feeling…and then they’re just going to film it.
Thoughts on last week’s Survivor – It was somewhat shocking to see JT make his “big” move by giving Russell his immunity idol. The idea behind the move itself was pretty smart but what made it stupid was the assumption made by JT. At this point in the game, JT’s an all star and has yet to see Russell’s season, therefor making him unfamiliar with Russell’s MO. He only knows Russell is a villain. For JT to completely just assume that there was an all girl alliance going on is what made the move dumb. In a game like Survivor, you can’t just make an assumption like this and run with it. You have to look at these things from all angles. He didn’t even seem to have any doubts about this move. I will say though that Russell had a big advantage going into this all star game. His season had yet to air on TV, giving him a major advantage as the other players knew nothing about his gameplay.
TELL US – WHAT WERE YOUR THOUGHTS ON JT’S MOVE? DUMBEST IN SURVIVOR HISTORY?
The overly sensitive Shaq reportedly believes his ex-wife Shaunie O’Neal might be bashing him on future episodes, and had his lawyers fire off a letter to VH1 demanding they “immediately halt production on “any further episodes of ‘Basketball Wives’ which make any reference to Mr. O’Neal.”
Shaq’s lawyer is claiming Shaunie signed a confidentiality agreement at some point in their relationship therefore preventing her from saying anything about Shaq on TV. VH1 has however confirmed the show will go on. The new episode will still air tonight at the scheduled time of 10/9c.
Coming of the heels of a rather impressive debut of Basketball Wives, VH1 announced this week that it will be creating a new spin off series called Football Wives. Similar to Basketball Wives, Football Wives will also offer viewers a behind-the-scenes look at the glamorous life of the better halves of professional football’s most elite players.
“Football and basketball are really two very different worlds,” Jeff Olde, executive vice president of original programming and production at VH1, said Wednesday. “In football, there are no guaranteed contracts, so you could be in your heyday one day and out completely the next.”
“The players are also on the road much less than basketball players,” added Olde, “so the family dynamic and work schedule is totally different from the women’s perspective.”
TELL US – WILL YOU TUNE IN FOR FOOTBALL WIVES? AND WHAT ARE YOUR THOUGHTS ON THE LATEST EPISODE OF BASKETBALL WIVES?
On to this week’s recap, not much to write about so this will be brief. Will however touch on Jill Zarin’s appearance on Watch What Happens last night.
Ramona - Once again, we had another Ramonattack. Someone needs to let Ramona know her meds are meant to be taken daily, and not just when she feels like it. Her walk on the runway was simply priceless, and all the more surprising considering how serious she took it. Her comments to Jill at Jill’s event was unnecessary and uncalled for. It was absolutely the wrong time and place. She definitely needs a filter.
Kelly – I think I’m starting to see the issue with Kelly. She came on this season trying to be the fun and happy Kelly, which is making her appear rather inauthentic and weird. Her attempt to take Simon shopping and dress him, umm a bit weird. She’s more interesting when she’s being a real human being, such as during her argument with Ramona. And then we got the old Kelly back when she decided to mock Ramona in a elementary like tone after she walked away, really what person over the age of 10 does that?. Overall, I think I’m starting to get Kelly. She’s one of those people who simply lacks depth. She’s that person who can only be an acquaintance, and never a close friend because there simply isn’t much to her.
Bethenny – It was good to see Bethenny dealing well with her dad not wanting to see her. Not much on Bethenny this week, but did we really need to see her sitting on the toilet? Way TMI. Bethenny should have closed the door, and Bravo should have left that part out.
Jill – The mean Jill reared its ugly head once again on last night’s episode, making a lot of snarky remarks. However, her appearance on Watch What Happens was a must see last night. Seeing her talk in circles, make up excuses, all while being defensive was interesting to watch. According to Jill, the reason she was so cold to Bethenny was because she wanted them to make up off camera. Really Jill??? Can someone remind this woman that she is on a reality show that showcases her personal life and relationships? All of the things to not want on TV, why would making up with a friend be one of them? Yeah, it made no sense to me either.
Gretchen Rossi, 32, took some time out of her very busy schedule of setting up funds and foundations, and gave an interview to Celebritybabyscoop. In the interview, Gretchen discusses Slade, her desire to have kids, her make-up line (which is now up and running again), and being like a step mom to boyfriendSlade Smiley’s children.
Excerpts from Gretchen’s interview below -
CBS: You’ve been dating Slade Smiley for months now. Do you consider yourself stepmom to his sons?
GR: “Yes, I am stepmom in some ways. Both of Slade’s sons are great. His oldest son Gavin is turning 20 this weekend and we’re celebrating with him at Disneyland which will be so much fun. And Slade’s youngest son Grayson is so amazing.”
CBS: Grayson has been fighting inoperable brain cancer since preschool. How is he doing now?
GR: “Grayson is doing as well as can be expected. His condition is always up in the air. He’s been through so many surgeries and procedures, it’s hard to keep count. But through it all, he’s had the most amazing attitude and outlook on life. You’ll never see him down and out about his condition. It’s been really hard on Slade over the years. We can only keep hoping and praying for his health.”
CBS: How do Slade and his ex co-parent? Do they get along well?
GR: “Grayson lives with his mom and they live close to the hospital in case of any emergencies. They live father away than we’d like, but he needs to be in close proximity to the hospital.
Slade and his ex both have Grayson’s best interest at heart, although it’s been hard at times. For the most part, things are good between them and they make sure that his health and treatments come before anything.
We wish he lived closer though since we’d love to see him more often.”
CBS: Do you hope to have your own children one day? Are you and Slade talking about having kids together?
GR: “I joke to Slade that I want a football team of kids! We’ve definitely talked about having kids, but I’m old fashioned and I’d like to be married before the kids come into the picture. So we’ll see what happens, but I definitely want my own kids one day.”
CBS: Tell us about your new makeup line.
GR: “I’m so excited about my new makeup line called Gretchen Christine Beaute. A few years ago, I was struggling financially just like so many other people and I wasn’t able to buy the expensive makeup I loved. So I decided to create my own line of makeup that was just as good as the expensive stuff but affordable to everyone.
We have so many amazing products to choose from. The eyeshadows are so smooth and luxurious. They come in the nicest packaging. And everything is just so affordable. I’m really proud of the products and have been working night and day at creating the products.”
CBS: You also star on Real Housewives of Orange County. You’re busy!
“Yes, I’ve been working non-stop lately, but it’s been good. I also wrote and recorded Nothing Without You which you can download off my site. I love doing it all and I’m always working on other exciting projects for the future.”
Gretchen was also honored Thursday evening with the launching of her very own ‘Blonde Ambition’ milkshake at Millions of Milkshakes in Hollywood. We will bring you photos of that when they become available.
According to TMZ, Crystal actually quit the show two weeks ago and was walking off when AI host Ryan Seacrest convinced her to change her mind.
Crystal’s reason for wanting off the show? Apparently the 24 year-old singer-songwriter from Elliston, Ohio told Ryan she couldn’t handle the competition, and that she hated the attention, at one point even saying to Ryan, “What’s the point?”
In addition to that, the single mother of one was also feeling very homesick and wanted to return to Ohio to be with her family.
Ryan was however able to convince Crystal to stay by telling her that being on “Idol” was like starting a business, and reminding her that a million dollar recording contract was at stake. Ryan then added that she could use her money to do some amazing things. “You can buy your mom a house,” said Ryan to Crystal.
So Crystal remains in the competition, for now at least.
TELL US – DO YOU FEEL SORRY FOR CRYSTAL OR SHOULD SHE TOUGHEN UP?
When asked if she wishes she had handled her fight with Bethenny Frankel differently, she answered, “”I think I was out of my mind … Bobby, empty nest thoughts, and private matters. I am embarrassed.”
Jill also held a release party for her new book Wednesday night and she revealed she invited all the NYC housewives in an attempt to try to get them on Team Jill, no just kidding! She didn’t say that ofcouse, our Jill would never do such a thing! She did however reveal that she invited Bethenny as well, who as expected did not show up. In attendance were Kelly, new housewife Jennifer Gilbert, and Luann as pictured above. Also in attendance was Ramona. Bethenny however did show up to Alex and Simon’s book signing last week for their new book, Little Kids, Bit City. Photos from that are below.
When asked if she would like to be friends with Bethenny again, “Of course I would,” answered Jill, also telling Hollywoodlife, “I’ve already said sorry many times” to Bethenny! Wonder if that sorry came before or after the recent backlash, especially taking into consideration the fact that she referred to Bethenny’s wedding as being “circus-like” just two weeks ago.
You be the judge of whether or not she is sincere. Moving right along to tonight’s new episode of the NYC Housewives. We finally get to meet one of the two new housewives tonight as Sonja Morgan makes her debut on the show. Sonja, 45, is a single mom of one, and the ex-wife ofJohn Adams Morgan, the great-grandson of financier JP Morgan. Sonja is said to be good friends with the Countess and Ramona.
Sonja is also described as being a fan of shopping, sex, & plastic surgery. Sonja doesn’t apologize for living life on her terms. Meanwhile, Ramona has a surprise for Mariowhen she prepares a romantic setting at home to propose that they renew their wedding vows. And, LuAnn meets up with Jill to divulge about a potential new suitor in her life.
