I don't know about y'all, but I am super excited about the third season of Mob Wives. Honestly, I started watching it because I had to recap it, but now I am addicted. Adding Big Ang as comic relief totally won me over, and the women's crazy drama never fails to entertain.
All of the original ladies are returning, and Karen Gravano's friend Love Majewski will be joining the cast. Admittedly, I'm a tad frightened by her, and I've only see the trailer! Carla Facciolo seems to find her voice this season, following the golden rule of VH1 reality shows–"She who yells the loudest remains the most relevant." Renee Grazziano maintains her role as resident drama queen, while Drita D'Avanzo is trying to distance herself from her formerly violent ways. Ramona Rizzo isn't willing to follow in Drita's footsteps as far as that is concerned! It's going to be a crazy season, that's for sure!
Well, dear readers, thankfully the Mayan hype was just that…hype. We're now in the last week of 2012 (has it flown by as quickly for you as it did me?), and we need to focus on 2013. It's time for gorging on holiday leftovers and contemplating the last 365 days–or 265 days if you're RHOA'sPorsha Stewart. When it comes to making New Year's resolutions, I am absolutely horrible. Check that. I'm great at making them, but I'm awful at keeping them.
For 2013, I plan to eat healthier (the BoJangles drive-thru is just so delicious and convenient), write daily (for myself), cook more, and like wine less (bwahahahaha! Like that will ever happen!). I also pledge to spend more time with family and friends–it's my one easy given. I hate total failure. Finally, I resolve to train for the half-marathon I've been wanting to do, and this time around wogging (walk/jogging) three miles every other week just won't cut it. Thankfully, we've got some great tips from reality stars as to how to make our healthy resolutions an actuality. Fingers crossed.
First up? Real Housewives of New Jersey's controversial scene stealer is sharing a list of her ten healthiest tips…courtesy of her trainer. Celeb Buzz is reporting on how Teresa Giudice plans to maintain her svelte figure in the new year. The exercise-loving reality star reveals, “It is so rewarding how I feel at the end of the workout, I can’t wait to come back for more. One of the lessons I learned is that this is a lifestyle change. I’m not just here for a couple of months. I’m in it for the long haul.”
You know, ever since a little Dakota Fanning magnificently tackled playing a wise six-year-old in the very grown up movie I Am Sam, I knew she was going to have an amazing career…and she has. The actress has run the gamut by playing thought provoking and controversial roles throughout her tween and teen years while her Hollywood peers were partying hard and being typecast in every teen movie we've ever seen. Not only that, with a thriving and respected film career, Dakota managed to graduate high school (one she actually attended where she was a cheerleader and homecoming queen) and begin her studies at NYU. All the while, she's still picking roles that help hone her craft and catapult her into blockbuster status (thanks, Twilight!).
Proving that you can be a major star and not have your name in the tabloids every day (are you listening, LiLo?), Dakota has managed to stay under the radar regarding anything other than her career…until now. That's right. Dakota Fanning may be an award-winning actress, a serious college student, and an avoider of the negative limelight, but she's also an avid reality show watcher–and not just any reality show.

I think the last term anyone would use to describe Real Housewives of Atlanta'sPhaedra Parks would be "wallflower." However, the outspoken Southern belle from Bravo's hit has been MIA lately, both on Twitter and on her show's blog. Many speculated that there was tension between her and Apollo Nida thanks to co-star Kenya Moore's relentless flirting with Phaedra's husband. Unfortunately, Kenya's inappropriate behavior has nothing to do with Phaedra's media absence.
Phaedra recently spoke out regarding her hiatus from all things social media, and my heart goes out to her. She now reveals that both she and her husband have both lost their maternal grandmothers. While I am sure both Phaedra and Apollo are grateful for having their grandmothers in their lives for so long, it's never, ever easy to lose a cherished family member, especially so close to the holidays. My positive thoughts are with both of them and their families.
I hope that all of our RT readers had a wonderful, stress-free, family-filled Christmas that was devoid of drama…or at the very least, I hope you got some really delicious grub. Of course, what would the holidays be without craziness and chaos? I guess that's what the housewives are for, right?
The Real Housewives of Miami may see their whirlwind season coming to an end, but they certainly aren't going anywhere in the tabloid world. First up, Marysol Patton is talking about all things season three. Sadly, her friend Alexia Echevarria is not having a great holiday. She's been faced with her youngest son's horrible car accident, and now she and her husband are being investigated by the IRS. The only good news for Alexia is that her oldest son Peter will escaping jail time for assaulting a homeless man earlier in the year. Wow and wow. Merry Christmas to him!
Oh, it seems like at least one couple from Teen Mom is really trying to make it work! I'll admit, most of the girls from both Teen Mom franchises make really stupid decisions and do totally dumb things–even when they have an amazing support system. None of them seem to be in healthy relationships except for Catelynn Lowell and Tyler Baltierra. Surprisingly, this pair had the most stacked against them…her mom was an addict, his dad was in and and out of jail, and they ended up becoming step-siblings when her mom and his dad entered into a tumultuous marriage. It's enough to mess up any teen couple. Or anyone, for that matter!
However, Catelynn and Tyler are different. They've been together since the seventh grade, and, realizing that their daughter could be raised in a much more stable environment, they decided to choose adoption. They are the only couple in the history of 16 & Pregnant and Teen Mom to do so. While they've definitely struggled in their relationship (Catelynn needs a lot of reassurance), they seem to be committed to one another and are now engaged. Even if Catelynn and Tyler don't make it (I really hope they do), they are more mature than all of the other Teen Moms (1 and 2!) put together. That may not be saying much, but I still think they still think they are head and shoulders above their counterparts.
I'll admit, I laughed a bit when Tylerdecided to move to New Orleans to focus on his acting career–mainly because he went to New Orleans and not New York or Los Angeles…or even Wilmington, North Carolina! When Tyler decided to fulfill his dreams, he and Catelynn vowed to make their relationship work long distance. Now, the couple is reunited for the holidays.
I'll admit, my fist pumping has turned into more of a fist wrist flick. Not only did the Jersey Shore end, it ended with a fizzle, not a grenade. It was time, and although I love my gross, orange, drunk, poorly dressed friends, that finale was just too tame. Don't get me wrong…I wasn't looking for alcohol infused antics, but these roommates have shown us time and again that they can entertain without being totally wasted. The pranks, rascal races, family dinners, and meatball auditions were hilarious. The series finale was not.
Last night was a Sister Wives' road trip from hell. I got totally stressed out just watching it. Kody Brown's behavior rivaled that of his youngest children, and we learned that Meri Brown and Robyn Sullivan-Brown's great-great-(and great) grandfathers were both hanging out in Nauvoo, Illinois at the same time. Perhaps that's why they have such a connection? Christine Brown fancied herself a Chris Brown with her impromptu stand-up routines during the sofa interviews, and I think that Janelle Brown said maybe three words. She was probably still traumatized from the road trip.
The episode begins as the family is celebrating Logan's birthday. Kody announces that everyone is going to file into two RVs for a road trip to Nauvoo, Illinois which is where the Church of Latter Day Saints gained popularity. While the Browns aren't a part of that denomination, they are looking forward to learning more about their Mormon forefathers. Needless to say, the teenagers aren't super thrilled at the idea of driving three days to Illinois to learn their church history, while the younger kids just hear "RVs."
Hunter and Logan manage to get out of the pilgrimage thanks to prior plans and football camp. The teen girls are beyond jealous of their brothers' good fortune. Logan and Hunter aren't even pretending they're upset to missing this debacle. Christine and Robyn will be staying in hotels while the other ladies will be bunking in the RVs.
