With every Real Housewives franchise comes one (insufferable) housewife who appoints herself head bitch in charge. On Real Housewives of Potomac, that one is Karen Huger, who spent the premiere preaching about etiquette.
“I was taught as a child that proper etiquette would serve me well in life,” Karen says, “and it has. If I care about you and I feel your conduct is inappropriate, as a friend I will gently point you in the right direction.” (disguised as a gift)
In the interest of damage control, Scheana shared on Instagram, “Please try to remember this was in July and a lot has changed and happened since then. So before people jump to conclusions, I want to say that Ariana’s mom reached out to me first. I responded to a concerned mother about my best friend. That’s all. I would never reach out first nor would I ever do anything to intentionally to hurt them. Also, the texts mentioned were exchanged in early December 2014 to give you some perspective. A time when Tom and I were not in a good place.”
When asked about Eileen confessing to being in an abusive relationship in the past, Camille, a victim of domestic abuse as well, shares, “I was very moved by her openness. I applaud her for speaking out.”
Kyle admits that she was surprised by Eileen‘s revelation, explaining, “It sort of came out of the blue. We’ve all been getting closer and closer with time. We were there, having fun and relaxing, and the next thing you know that came out. I know it was very difficult for her and she had a little bit of anxiety about it, but it was really brave of her to say that.”
In her first blog as a Bravo housewife, the stunning and snarky Gizelle Bryant breaks down the premiere of the Real Housewives of Potomac. A recap in case you missed it: etiquette, Potomac, etiquette, Potomac, etiquette, Potomac.
While the “Rules of Etiquette in Potomac” was a running theme of the premiere, Gizelle made it be known that she 1) lives by her own set of rules and 2) is not about to be schooled by Karen Huger, the self appointed HBIC of Potomac.
“I am very well-versed and clear about etiquette,” says Gizelle. “Everyone can see that I was not raised under a rock or a bridge. I’ve read a couple of posts from Mrs. Emily Post and my mother has raised a lady. HOWEVER, Karen’s and Potomac’s rules of etiquette change with the wind and the champagne. If the breeze is blowing and the bubbly is flowing God only knows the rules of Karen.”
Jax apologizes for the train wreck that was Lala Kent and James Kennedy on Watch What Happens Live a few weeks ago, “I apologize on behalf of our cast after that mess.” When asked about the “secret” Lala claims to know about Jax (and James threw out the word herpes), he says, “They’re hitting below the belt. They’re reaching for something that’s not there. I think she is disappointed that I didn’t follow through with hooking up with her, so she was just reaching.”
