On last night’s 16 and Pregnant, we meet Myranda Trevino and her boyfriend Eric Kennemer from Bronson, Texas. She’s a track star and he hopes to play professional baseball one day. Myranda’s mother Billie has addiction issues and allowed her three months pregnant daughter to move in with Eric at his grandmother’s after the pair had been dating six months. Myranda has a strained relationship with her mother, but during a discussion we learn that Myranda was on the Pill but stopped taking it for a month. She plans to drop out of school and get her GED.
Eric’s Nanny helps the couple and allows the couple to live with her for free. Eric says the most honest thing ever on this show when he tells his brother that Myranda got pregnant because he was thinking with his penis. Eric is working part time and about to start college classes. Nanny is a spitfire. She is annoyed at the pair’s stupidity in light of birth control, and she makes sure to give the couple as little privacy as possible. Nanny drops the bomb that her house isn’t a daycare facility, so the couple will have to find other living arrangements once the baby arrives.
On last night’s 16 and Pregnant we meet Jordan Howard, a teen from Millersville, Pennsylvania who is in a biracial relationship with Tyler. She discusses her situation with her mother Kelly who isn’t keen on her daughter’s boyfriend. She won’t even let him in her home. Kelly is alright with Jordan staying at Tyler’s house now, but that will change after the baby. The baby WILL stay at Jordan’s house and Tyler will NOT be included. Thankfully, his parents are more supportive. Jordan wants to stay with his parents after the couple’s son is born, but they all know they will face strong opposition from her mother.
Tyler has spent a lot of his savings on baby supplies and furniture. Jordan wants to contribute, so the pair go shopping for baby clothes. It’s worth noting that Tyler is wearing a shirt that says “I’m the guy your parents warned you about.” Tyler and Jordan reveal that her mother is so wary of Tyler because he’s white. She admits she even had some strange reactions from her friends when they first got together. Jordan discusses with her friends her fear about telling her mom about her plans to move in with Tyler’s family.
On last night’s 90 minute (seriously, MTV?) 16 and Pregnant we were introduced to Alex Sekella from Pennsylvania who lives with her mother and two younger siblings. She’s an aspiring dancer who works at a fast food job and teaches children how to dance at a local studio. Alex has been with Matt McCann for two years, and the pair couldn’t be more opposite. Alex is focused, driven, and a good student, while Matt is in and out of trouble. From the first two minutes of the show, you can tell he’s a deadbeat.
Alex’s mother took her to get on birth control as soon as she became sexually active (slow clap for her—seriously!), which is refreshing for this season. However, after trying to give her daughter the necessary precautions, Alex’s mom is less than thrilled with the current situation. Alex has two choices…adoption or find another place to live. Harsh, but sometimes there isn’t enough tough love on this show.
Matt is confused and not ready to be a dad. I must also mention that he’s always sweaty and looks like he’s on something. Matt is leaning towards adoption, but selfishly doesn’t want to miss out on his child’s life. Alex’s biggest fear is parenting alone. Matt has some great words of comfort with, “We’ll see.” It’s becoming more difficult for an almost nine months pregnant Alex to teach dance, much less practice. She shares her insecurities with her dance classmates. Alex admits that her pregnancy was an “oops” because they were using protection and she was on birth control. She reveals they didn’t get the Plan B pill because it was too expensive.
Talking with her younger siblings, they are brutally honest. Her brother wants to know if it’s against the law for a teenager to even have a baby. Out of the mouths of babes…you have to appreciate the candidness of a ten-year-old’s mind. Her mother discusses adoption with her, again telling her that no baby will be raised in her home. Alex is clearly torn. She wants to be a mom, and her mother reminds her that many adoptions can be open.
Alex becomes more convinced about motherhood while checking out cute clothing for little girls. Of course, she is smart enough to realize that a $28 outfit will take more than five hours of work to afford. She’s walking a mile to her fast food job contemplating her decision. Alex would like reassurance from Matt, but shockingly he’s MIA for their group mini-golf date. Her friends basically tell her she’s dating a deadbeat, but young love is clearly blind.
Her final ultrasound occurs, and after many voicemails, Matt is in attendance. He’s either drunk, high, or ridiculously hungover while he sits glassy-eyed in the corner, not engaging in any sort of conversation with the doctor. Winner! Later, Alex talks with a friend about her final decision, and she refuses to make it without Matt’s involvement. I see where she’s coming from, but basically everyone in her life is urging her to get rid of this dude. Over lunch with one of her best friends, a proposition is formed…her friend’s mother would like to adopt the baby. While it may seem ideal for some, to me it sounds too close for comfort, as the baby she has such a hard time parting with would become her best friend’s younger sister. Yes, she would get to see her child, but when it comes down to brass tacks, Alex would have to watch her daughter raised in her vicinity with no say, whatsoever. While I commend the potential adoptive parents, I can’t imagine how difficult that would be for all parties involved.
Matt is still being elusive, so she goes to speak with her friend’s parents. They can’t have any more children, and they want to adopt Alex’s baby. It’s a strange (but refreshing? Or just strange) conversation to watch. Her friend’s parents are willing to wait until she’s ready to make a choice, even if that decision isn’t made until well after the baby is born. The couple introduces Alex to their neighbor who needs a roommate to make rent. They would love for Alex to live there while she figures out what she wants to do.
She finally talks to Matt who is more concerned about a pet rabbit doing its business on him than chatting about their future. He’s again totally out of it, but Alex seems awestruck at how sweaty and cute he is. She tells him about the situation that has been presented, and he likes the idea of his child being adopted by a family down the street. Alex really wants to be called “mom” and make it work, and he thinks she’s not thinking enough about the baby…together they don’t make enough to support themselves, much less a child.
With a week to go until her due date, Alex shares her friend Brianna’s parents’ offer with her mother. Her mom understands her concern about being in such close proximity with her daughter knowing they will have the parental rights. However, her mother isn’t thrilled at the thought of her living with the baby at the neighbor’s house until she can make a decision. Her mom thinks that choice needs to be in place before the baby is born.
Alex takes Matt to speak with Brianna’s parents, and again, what is this dude smoking? Alex wants the potential adoptive parents to know that they will have the final say as to visitation. Matt supports the adoption, but thinks that Alex should have the final say. As he’s a year younger—a rising junior in high school—he knows he still has a lot to do before he can provide anything to support his child. Brianna’s dad doesn’t want to put any pressure on the teens, but his wife clearly hopes this will work out for them. As a trial run, Alex moves in some things next door but spends the night at Brianna’s before moving in. Of course, that night she goes into labor.
Before heading to the hospital, Alex sends many unanswered texts to Matt. Her mother arrives at Brianna’s to take her to the hospital…although several hours later she’s still having contractions and writhing on Brianna’s parents’ floor. Bypassing the hospital, the mother-daughter pair track Matt down on his bike…although it totally looked like he was trying to evade them. When Alex falls out of the car mid-contraction, Matt gives up on playing BMX star to get in the car.
After eighteen hours of labor, Alex is finally ready to push. She is beyond thrilled that Matt stayed with her the whole time. News flash…it’s what he is supposed to do…no props should be given. Arabella Elizabeth is born, and it’s the first footage of Matt not sweating up a storm. After giving birth, Alex is having serious reservations about adoption. Matt seems to bond with his daughter, and Alex hopes that he can commit to being a family.
Lindsey Harrison is a teenager from Reno, Nevada. She lives with her mother and younger sister in a space so small, she and her sister share a bed. She also has two older sisters who no longer live at home, but all of the girls are super close. Lindsey has been with her boyfriend Forest Ponce for three years…oh, and she aspires to be a detective and a cage fighter. Yes, you read that correctly. Hmm…what else can I say about Lindsey? Oh yes, she’s 16 and Pregnant of course! Lindsey also sports a giant tattoo across her belly…
Lindsey reveals to her friends that the couple often used condoms, but once time they forgot and she didn’t get pregnant. Because of this, they felt they could be more lax with contraceptives. Both Lindsey’s mother and boyfriend had hoped she would get an abortion. Forest even broke up with Lindsey for a few months when she decided to keep the baby. Now, however, he seems excited about having a daughter who they are planning to name Aniyah. Keeping it in the franchise, I must note that Forest looks like the love child of Chelsea Houska’sAdam Lind and Jenelle’s mistake Kieffer Delp. Attractive, no? Lindsey is glad that Forrest is being more supportive, but she really wishes he would take the initiative to get a job.
Lindsey is hanging out with her older sister Dallas. She tells her sister that she now must put aside her dreams of going pro with cage fighting at age eighteen. Lindsey hasn’t even told her trainer that she is pregnant since he is such a father figure to her. In an effort to spark her enthusiasm, Lindsey’s mother encourages her to go to a cage match. Lindsey is concerned that she’ll see someone she used to train with who will reveal her secret to her trainer. She and her mother are bickering a lot, so she finds herself spending a lot of time at Forest’s house. Lindsey hopes he’ll want her to move in with him. They both think that makes the most sense for their growing family.
Lindsey goes shopping for baby gear and is a bit defeated to find out how much the necessities will cost. She lunches with Forest, and basically they can afford the crib. As she’s the only one with a job, he is going to need to step up to the plate. He promises to start looking. Lindsey discusses potentially moving in with Forest with her other older sister Lacey. She thinks that if they live separately, both homes must be equipped for their daughter, essentially doubling the cost. Lacey seems skeptical about Forest helping as much as Lindsey expects.
After a week, Forest has yet to start his job search while Lindsey is seven months pregnant and taking on extra shifts at McDonald’s. Over dinner with Forest and his mom and sister, his mother broaches the subject of Lindsey moving in with the family. His mom Dora doesn’t want her son working and trying to go to school and complete his homework. Apparently, it’s okay that Lindsey does though. The couple argues after dinner, and it ends with Forest hanging up on Lindsey.
Later that night, Lindsey starts to have contractions…very scary considering she is still two months from her due date. Of course, Forest refuses to answer his phone. She’s admitted to the hospital. They schedule a shot to clear out the baby’s lungs in the event Lindsey goes into pre-term labor. As early as it is, there is a risk the baby’s lungs haven’t fully developed. The following day, Lindsey’s contractions have subsided, and she is frustrated that she still has yet to hear from Forest. She is released from the hospital and ordered to adhere to strict bed rest. Her sister Dallas comes to retrieve her from the hospital and is disgusted to hear how Forest is acting. She thinks Lindsey deserves much better than Forest. I tend to agree.
Last night’s 16 and Pregnant introduced us to Briana DeJesus, a Brooklyn teen who now resides with her mother and older sister in Orlando, Florida. She graduated a year early from high school and is looking forward to starting college in the fall. She and her former boyfriend, Devoin, decided to keep the baby, although the couple soon ended their relationship. Even harder? Her sister Brittany got pregnant at the same time and decided to have an abortion. Briana reveals to her friend that they pair didn’t use protection, because it was too awkward to talk about – you know what else is awkward…having everyone up in your business for nine months. Teens say the darndest things.
Both sisters seem almost envious of the others’ choice. Briana has no support from her baby’s father, but she feels like she is flaunting her pregnancy in front of her sister. Brittany claims she chose abortion after seeing how hard it was for her sister, and she promises to go out and have fun while Briana is stuck home with her baby. However, Brittany can’t change the choice she made, and she admits that it is hard for her to watch Briana’s pregnancy progress. Mother and daughters share a tearful moment.
Devoin hasn’t spoken to Briana in over a month, but she still holds out hope that he will be there for their daughter. Her mom agrees to allow him to spend the night a few times a week to help, but she has no intentions of turning into his personal hotel. Seeing as Devoin won’t return Briana’s calls or texts, she may not have anything to worry about. She discusses baby names with her mother, who quickly rules out Bliss, as it sounds too much like a stripper name. Briana is leaning towards the name Nova.
Briana, Brittany, and their friends have a fun time making t-shirts, with Briana decorating hers with stars and the word Nova. She texts Devoin about naming the baby. Briana has made up her mind about Nova, and Devoin thinks he should at least get a vote. She says she will let him choose the last name…but if Devoin wants Nova to have his last name, he’s really going to have to step up to the plate. Devoin is not keen on getting a job to assist with the baby. He feels like he’s being forced into finding work. Doesn’t Briana know how stressed out he is? Devoin is very indifferent to his ex-girlfriend’s tears. D-to-the-ouchebag!
Last night’s premiere of 16 & Pregnant’s fourth season gave viewers double the baby mama drama with two new episodes. The first episode introduces us to cheerleader Mackenzie Douthit and her bull riding beau Josh McKee from Oklahoma.
Mackenzie loves going to the rodeo with her friends to watch her boyfriend compete, only this time she’s got an extra person with her…in her belly. She’s a rising junior in high school, and Josh has graduated. Mackenzie doesn’t want to get too far behind with her cheerleading goals, so she still attends practices (to watch), and she plans to jump right back in to the tumbling and pom poms as soon as possible. Josh appears to be very supportive, and the couple seems to have fun together.
Mackenzie puts a lot of pressure on Josh to plan for their future, and her family doesn’t think that she realizes what a change this will be in her life. After her sisters plead with her not to name the poor child “Cowbell,” her mother inquires as to why she wasn’t more careful. Duh! As a cheerleader, she didn’t want to take the Pill and risk getting fat. Um…I don’t want to point out the obvious, but…

Guess what – 16 & Pregnant is back! The fourth season of the controversial show will chronicle twelve new teen girls, as they struggle through pregnancy and the dramatic ups and downs associated with having a child as a young parent – including navigating complicated relationships with parents, boyfriends, and friends.
This season will continue to show a variety of different choices the moms make, from adoption, abortion, and choosing to raise their child alone or with a partner.
One teen determines if adoption is the right choice for her child, because she fears she will be a single mother due to her boyfriends unreliability. Another teen mother will choose to keep her child while her sister, also pregnant, opted to have an abortion. And of course, one mother will be forced to put her college plans on hold after she decides to raise her baby.
The teens will also struggle in relationships with their own parents, who are often conflicted on how to help and support their child through teen pregnancy and parenthood. One teen will fight to raise her baby while dealing with her drug addicted parent, and another girl’s mother disapproves of her child’s father. There will be “baby daddy” drama, as the girls learn that being a teen mom is much harder than it looks! Which, you would think after many seasons of watching this show they would have figured out by now. Apparently, not.
Additionally, MTV has decided to take on Teen Mom 3! Hopefully, this crop will fare better than the originals and the juniors! I’m looking at you, Portwood and Evans!

16 and Pregnantstar Ebony Jackson is telling her side of the story after CPS took her daughter away this week. The former MTV star opens up about her depression and suicidal thoughts after suffering a miscarriage.
The problems for Ebony began this week after cops raided the home she shares with her husband Josh Rendon following an anonymous complaint. What they discovered was pretty horrific. The police report reveals cops found “human and dog feces on the floors, walls, and clothing” in every room of the house. Their house was also “full of flies and in some areas, maggots.”
As a result, the couple’s 2-year-old daughter Jocelyn was taken away by CPS and now remains in temporary foster care, while Ebony and Josh were arrested on charges of endangering the welfare of a minorand possession of drug paraphernalia.
In an interview with the HollyBaby blog, Ebony, 20, opens up about her struggles. “I had been suffering with depression. I lost a kid, so I’ve been going through my own personal problems and so I haven’t been able to be the wife, mom that I’m supposed to be,” she says. “Neither of us wanted any of this to happen… One of my old friends [called us in] and she reported a lot of false things.”
“We never have our house that dirty,” adds Ebony, blaming the “dog feces” mess on the fact that puppies were just born in her home. “Our daughter never lives like that. Our daughter is always taken care of. She will always be taken care of. Our daughter always comes first in our lives and I don’t want anyone to think that we are just a couple of drug heads because we’re not.”
When asked to explain the synthetic marijuana that was found in their home, Ebony takes full responsibility for it. “It was mine,” says Ebony. “It had nothing to do with Josh. It was all mine and I was just doing it to self harm … after the loss of my son, I just lost him two months ago.”
Ebony goes on to reveal that her emotional issues were triggered by the loss of an unborn son. “I’ve been depressed, anxious, dealing with the loss of [the baby]. I was already hospitalized at the beginning of June — for suicide prevention,” she said going on to add that she’s looking to get help now. “I’m going to go back to therapy to find the right depression medication… I just want to let all of our fans know we are sorry for letting them down and for letting Jocelyn down.”
Unfortunately for Ebony, there might be more trouble coming her way. TMZ is reporting this morning that Josh is now at risk of getting kicked out of the military.
Josh, who is a member of the Air Force, is currently under investigation in relation to his arrest this week. A rep for Little Rock Air Force Base confirms Josh could indeed be discharged.
Even worse, if Josh is discharged, he and Ebony will lose their home as they currently live on the base.
TELL US: THOUGHTS ON EBONY’S COMMENTS? IS THERE ANY JUSTIFICATION FOR THE CONDITION OF THE HOME? SHOULD JOSH BE DISCHARGED?
