Bethenny Ever After

In today’s news, Bethenny Frankel continues to get richer expand her Skinnygirl line!

Just months after selling her Skinnygirl drink line for a reported $100 million, the Bethenny Ever After star has now announced her plans to launch a Skinnygirl skincare line… in addition to the Skinnygirl Cleanses, Skinnygirl Shapewear and Skinnygirl Books.

Bethenny, 40, announced the launch of Skinnygirl Face & Body Solutions and Skinnygirl Mommy on Friday. She joins forces with the beauty firm Lotta Luv for a 30-product body and skincare line called Honesty by Bethenny.

The reason for the name? Well it’s because Bethenny is not one for the gimmicks! “A $150 eye cream is ridiculous and absurd,” she told WWD. “[Promises like] ‘you’re going to look like Heidi Klum in two days’ or ‘like you had a face-lift’ have always bothered me.”

The products will range from lip glosses to body cream! The Honesty by Bethenny line is set to debut in select Wal-Mart stores in November 2011 and will retail for $15 and under. Not bad. Some of the products will reportedly feature spirit-inspired scents.

And in a recent interview with CNN, Bethenny makes it clear she isn’t just putting out these product lines to make money. “Any product that I add to the Skinnygirl line has to be innovative, solve a problem for women, and help them to live healthier, better lives,” she said. “My line is straightforward, honest, and doesn’t make false promises. I’ve turned down a multitude of product ideas from headbands to diet pills.”

She adds, “If I wouldn’t use a product myself, it doesn’t become part of the Skinnygirl brand.”

In other Bethenny news, she also continues to make it crystal clear that her reality TV days are numbered! “I’m getting tired of reality TV, of every moment being documented,” said Bethenny who has a talk show in the works. “But a talk show, where I could have longer conversations than on Facebook or Twitter – would be great. There are many things I want to talk to women about. While the other housewives were off getting drunk, I was doing business.”

TELL US – ARE YOU ALL SKINNYGIRL-ED OUT? OR ARE YOU EXCITED ABOUT THE NEW SKINCARE LINE?

Two months after an ex-manager sued her for $100 million claiming breach of oral contract, Bethenny Frankel is speaking out about the “frivolous” lawsuit.

During a recent visit to Canada to promote her Skinnygirl drink line, the Bethenny Ever After star gave an interview to the Globe and Mail during which she displayed her trademark brutal honesty. “That doesn’t bother me,” she retorts when asked about the lawsuit. “That’s frivolous and I would spend $20-million to punish him for wasting my time, the legal system’s time and that bag of bullshit. I will send back all the purses and all the diamonds and everything to sue that guy’s ass and put him where he belongs.”

And when it comes to her Bravo reality show, Bethenny was asked if there’s a part of her people do not get to see on the show. “I get very moody and grouchy,” she admits. “Sometimes, I’m from a place of no.” You don’t say Bethenny?

When asked what her estranged mother Bernadette Parisella Birk would think of her mega success (she sold her drink line for a reported $120 million), Bethenny replies, “I don’t know what she makes of my success.” She continues, “I’m sure it’s quite shocking and overwhelming to her,” adding she hasn’t talked to her “in years.”

As in past interviews, Bethenny once again reiterated her plans to leave the world of reality television sooner than later. “We won’t be doing this for much longer at all,” she declares. “I don’t want to be on reality TV that much.”

And what is Bethenny’s advice to her fans who would like to be in her shoes? “I have always believed in myself,” she states about her work ethic. “You treat every job as if it’s the most important job, and you will end up where I have ended up.”

Meanwhile ABC announced that Bethenny will return to The View talk show on Tuesday, July 12 as a guest co-host.

The isn’t Bethenny’s first time on the show as she also co-hosted last summer during which she got into a minor disagreement with Joy Behar over breast feeding. After Bethenny complained that that breastfeeding can be “the hardest thing in the whole world,” Joy stated, “I didn’t find it hard at all” and that Bethenny “shouldn’t tell women” it’s difficult.

TELL US – THOUGHT ON BETHENNY’S INTERVIEW?

Proving that her fame is international, Bethenny Frankel is talking about the same old things her reality shows and her struggles in an interview with Australian newspaper The Daily Telegraph!

In the interview, Bethenny explains she enjoys doing a reality show, but having dueling reality shows Skating With The Stars and Bethenny Ever After was a bit too much: “I foolishly took on another show, Skating with the Stars, at the same time (as Bethenny Ever After). To take on two shows, a new baby, a new marriage, the negotiation to sell my company took a lot out of me.”

Bethenny who is dedicated to famewhoring her fans generally doesn’t mind the cameras in her face, as she discloses why she never requests any private moments away from the glaring lens of Andy Cohen: “I don’t do that because it would compromise the integrity of the show. Sadly, most reality shows aren’t real at all. I feel a responsibility to be truthful.” We’ve noticed, Miss ‘I can’t go to the bathroom without a boom mic’!

This is also why she feels it’s important to make her therapy sessions part of her show: “Therapy itself is difficult to do to begin with, but not difficult to have filmed because you forget the camera is there. If I can help other women understand a little better about themselves by seeing me go through therapy, that’s the most enlightening thing about the show. I run to the therapist. It’s valuable, I certainly need it, I’m proud of it.”

In other Bethenny news –it’s all about one-year-old daughter, Bryn and like mother, like daughter it seems Bryn has a lot to say! In a recent interview with SheKnows, Bethenny gives us the skinny on Bryn’s new loquaciousness: “Yeah, she’s talking. She says mama, balloon, wow, and her newest word ‘ma-na-na-na,’ which means banana.”

And speaking of food, Bethenny who describes her daughter as a “mama’s girl” also disclosed that the two bond over food – which Bryn loves and Bethenny tolerates a couple bites at a time: “She eats everything and since that’s one of my passions, I find it fun.” Apparently Bryn has quite the diverse culinary repertoire: “Her favorite food is Mediterranean. She eats grape leaves, artichoke pesto, mango cilantro salsa, baba ganoush. Just this week she had Indian food and Thai food.” Here’s hoping Bryn won’t be on the Skinnygirl diet anytime soon! Although, I am counting the days until Bethenny releases some sort of baby food cookbook.

Also, next for Bethenny and hubby Jason Hoppy aka Team Frankel is, of course, Skinnygirl Baby No. 2! “We’re preparing, I want another girl,” says Bethenny. Does that mean season three of Bethenny Ever After will feature the same thing as season one of Bethenny Getting Married a new pregnancy and preparation for the upcoming Hoppy?

So would you buy a Skinnygirl Babyfood Cookbook written by Bethenny? Are you going to be watching Season Three of Bethenny Getting Married?

It’s finally happening! Months after it was first reported that Bethenny Frankel had a talk show in the works, she has now began filming the pilot!

The HollywoodReporter reveals the Bethenny Ever After star began filming her yet to be titled talk show – which will be an advice-based show – earlier this month.

Sources also confirm that fellow Telepictures talk show host and producer Ellen DeGeneres is involved with the project. And while Bethenny has yet to officially confirm her new venture, she did drop a major hint a while back.

“I want to be on TV in a format where I can have a longer conversation with my fans rather than 140 characters on Twitter,” said Bethenny earlier this year. “It probably will be a talk show.” Another hint was also dropped during a recent appearance on The Ellen Show. “I’m working with you now,” Ellen said to Bethenny on her show.

It appears Bethenny is in good hands as Telepictures, an extension of Warner Bros., is responsible for other successful series such as The Tyra Banks Show, Lopez Tonight and Ellen. Bethenny’s show will include multiple segments according to a source, some of which have yet to be taped.

However, the show is still in the early stages right now, meaning a network will officially order it to series only if they like what they see with the pilot. If the show does get picked up, it will likely film in New York where Bethenny resides with her family. In addition to her talk show, Bethenny is also set to begin filming season 3 of her Bravo series next month.

TELL US – THOUGHTS ON BETHENNY’S TALK SHOW? EXCITED?

Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you know Bethenny Frankel recently got a whole lot richer (a whole, whole lot) due to a deal with Beam Global in which she sold her Skinnygirl brand of beverages.

Since then, her former manager has sued her for upwards of $100 million for what he thinks was his input into her business. In a recent interview on the Today Show, Bethenny touched on the lawsuit drama. “I work really hard; I have always had a conscience and integrity (which is what you do when no one is looking). I can’t control what other people are doing nor do I want to. I’m happy where I am and I only sweat the small stuff. I torture myself more over a $40 Gap T-shirt than a multimillion-dollar lawsuit,” said Bethenny.

Bethenny also hit up the Tonight Show with Jay Leno this week, during which she quipped that she wipes her bum with dollar bills when Jay asked about her wealth, and tried to hire fellow Leno guest Kevin Bacon (love!) to entertain her and bartend. There was an enlightening moment in the interview where she admits that Jill (or should I say Bobby) Zarin secured her a place with the Real Housewives of New York. She admits that she and Jill were friends before the show (which she recognizes is weird among reality show stars…they aren’t usually close to begin with), but vaguely cites the show as the downfall of their relationship. Regardless, she knows the show was an amazing platform for her business plan.

And of course, having a multi-million (potentially billion) dollar empire, isn’t enough for the one time New York housewife. She has several spin-off Skinnygirl products launching that are sure to keep the money rolling in for years to come. Her newest endeavor? A cleanse.

A non-preggos looking Bethenny was pictured above this week during the launching of her Skinnygirl Cleanse at a GNC in Los Angeles. She elaborates, “It gently cleanses the system on a daily basis while replenishing and restoring the system with vibrant greens. On a day-to-day basis, depending upon how I feel, I alter whether I take it at night or during the day and whether I take it once per day or more.” To coincide with the Skinnygirl cleanse is also her lifestyle website Skinnygirl Daily.

Having raked in $50+ million last year, I’m sure her diehard fans will jump on with a vengeance. It certainly can’t hurt after imbibing all those margaritas.

Could baby #2 be on the way for Bethenny Frankel?

That answer is a very strong maybe! The Bethenny Ever After star was photographed above this week on Tuesday as she went for a stroll with daughter Bryn and husband Jason Hoppy in NYC.

It is however the appearance of what looks to be a baby bump that is catching the eyes of some, including us. The very skinny Bethenny, 40, appears to have some extra curves around the tummy area.

If she is pregnant, this would not come as a surprise as she has been very vocal about her desire to have a second baby. Earlier this year, she revealed that if she were to have a second child, it would be sooner than later due to her age. “I would love to have a second child, and it’s not something I have time to wait for,” she told Redbook magazine in their January issue. “You really experience your biological clock if you’re my age.”

“We throw caution to the wind and use the withdrawal method now,” added Bethenny. “If we got pregnant again, we’d be happy.”

So is she or isn’t she? Only time will tell. In the mean time, we’ll let you be the judge with more photos below of Bethenny with Bryn and Jason!

While her former Housewives costars continue to bicker on Bravo, Bethenny Frankel continues her attempt at world domination by gracing the latest cover of Forbes magazine.

The issue is fitting for the Bethenny Ever After star as it lists the top 100 most powerful celebrities (Lady Gaga takes the #1 spot from Oprah this year). Bethenny comes in at #42 after earning an estimated $55 million from May 2010 to 2011.

Forbes states Bethenny “represents a new breed of media-savvy entrepreneurs, who see reality television not as an outlet to feed their narcissism, but as airtime to promote their products.” Bethenny admits, “What’s the point of being on TV if you don’t have something to sell?” Below are excerpts from Bethenny’s cover story -

How Much Did Bethenny Earn? – According to Forbes, Bethenny sold her Skinnygirl drink line to Fortune Brands’ Beam Global for $100 million and not the widely reported $120 mil. The deal features a multi-year payout. When you add in the sales from her expanding line of Skinnygirl products, sources close to Bethenny reveal she earned an estimated $55 million in the past 12 months (Bethenny refused to confirm the numbers). That amount is huge, especially in comparison to the estimated $700,000 she earned from Bravo for her reality show. Bethenny makes it clear this mega success is all still new to her. “Seriously,” she reveals, “it wasn’t until two years ago that I made more than my assistant.”

Growing Up Bethenny – Growing up on New York’s Long Island as the child of top-ranked horse trainer Bobby Frankel, her childhood was far from a fairytale. Bethenny grew up with multiple divorces, allegations of childhood neglect, 13 different schools, and two cross-country moves. “I had my first drink when I was 7 years old; I was betting at the track by 8,” she recalls. “My father never called me on my birthday. He never congratulated me or told me he was proud,” she says, tearing up. Bethenny would go on to attend NYU, graduating with a degree in communications and psychology.

Can Bethenny Crack a Billion? – Bethenny reveals her goal is to turn the Skinnygirl empire into a billion-dollar business. In addition to selling her Skinnygirl drink line, she also has a number of other “Skinnygirl” products in the works. And despite selling the drink line, Bethenny still retains the rights to use Skinnygirl for anything she wishes. “It would be great for Beam to sell Skinnygirl shot glasses as a complement to the cocktail,” she jokes. “But they can’t. Only I can.” New products in the works include a line of Skinnygirl nutritional supplements, with partner Matt Hesse, which has already seen wholesale orders topping $1 million in the first quarter of 2011. Her shapewear is also predicted to bring in $5 million this year (it makes its QVC debut in August). Also in the works — an online personal-training service, a fourth book and a skin-care line called Skinnygirl Face & Body. She is also contemplating soft drinks, sauces and a children’s clothing line.

“It’s a formula,” says Bethenny of the successful brands she launches with strategic partners. “They’re the expert, the formulator, manufacturer. I’m the marketer, the media person, the face–and we each know our roles.” You can read more on Bethenny’s cover story on Forbes.

Meanwhile, following her second season of BEA, Bethenny reveals she plans to lay low until filming on the third season begins in July. “I have really checked out of my own life a lot,” she told PEOPLE. “I’m laying low. I really hit the wall going 90 miles an hour.” She adds, “We’re starting filming in July for season 3, and I need the hiatus.”

TELL US – THOUGHTS ON BETHENNY’S FORBES ARTICLE? DO YOU THINK SHE CAN CRACK A BILLION?

Bethenny Frankel

Bethenny Frankel is now responding to the $100 million lawsuit filed against her on Wednesday by an ex-manager.

As we reported, Doug Wald of Los Angeles-based Raw Talent is claiming he helped Bethenny develop her Skinnygirl cocktail line only to be cut out of the company, which was sold for a reported $120 million to Beam Global in March.

In the court documents, Doug admits the Bethenny Ever After star fired him back in 2008 after managing her for just 3 months. He however feels he is entitled to 10% of the sale proceeds plus $100 million in punitive damages.

“Unfortunately, one of the signs of success is being the subject of frivolous lawsuits, like this one,” said Bethenny in a statement on Thursday. “This is simply someone with his hand out, who did nothing to earn it, and I am not going to be bullied. We are exploring all of our options, including filing counterclaims against these people.”

Doug also alleges in the suit that he was the one who introduced Bethenny to her Skinnygirl drink partner/liquor industry veteran David Kanbar.

Bethenny spoke out once again in a separate statement to PEOPLE. “Life is good for me with all the things that are most important, namely family. But let’s be clear, I am a strong woman, and I am not afraid and won’t back down when I’m bullied by something with zero merit. Success is earned by hard work, not taking advantage of others.”

Meanwhile, Bethenny is keeping her head up as she was photographed above walking the streets of NYC on Wednesday, the same day the lawsuit was filed. A bigger image of Bethenny below.
