Apprentice

We are very sad to report that Apprentice and Ultimate Merger star Omarosa Manigault’s brother Jack Manigult was murdered last Sunday morning in his hometown of Youngstown, OH.

The local newspaper reports that Jack, 40, was shot several times, including a fatal shot to the head, after his home was broken into by a man who was previously dating Jack’s current girlfriend.

Omarosa has asked for privacy during this time and released the following statement: “We thank everyone for their amazing outpouring of support surrounding the tragic death of my brother Jack. … Right now it is an extremely difficult time and we ask that you allow family privacy to grieve and make all necessary arrangements.”

The assailant, Marco Cardenas, who is currently on probation for a felony breaking and entering case, forced his way into the home of Jack Manigault and ran into the bedroom where he fired several shots. He was arrested shortly after the murder and found armed.

Jack, who served a 2 ½ year prison sentence for aggravated assault and was arrested in 2003 for obstructing official business and possession of drugs and weapons, has since turned his life around according to family.

Of her brother, Omarosa remembers: “My brother was so special to us! We loved him unconditionally and we were so proud of him when he turned his life around and gave his life to God two years ago.”

Our sympathies are with the family in the wake of this incredible tragedy. May he rest in peace.

The Apprentice 2010

The Apprentice returns for an all new season on Thursday, September 16 on NBC.

The show gets back to the basics this season as the two-hour premiere will feature 16 new non-celebrity contestants who have been hit hard by the economic downturn and are fighting back to rebuild their careers.

“I am very excited to have the civilian version of ‘The Apprentice’ back on the air this fall,” said Donald Trump. “The new edition will combine the realities of today’s economic downturn with the grittiness, drama and excitement of the original series. Each of this season’s 16 contestants has been hit hard by the economy and they are fighting back; fighting for a chance to rebuild their careers and for one savvy contestant, the career opportunity of a lifetime — to come and work for me. They have nothing to lose and everything to gain!”
