She speaks! Basketball Wives star Evelyn Lozada has given her first interview since the domestic dispute with her soon to be ex-husband Chad Johnson. Evelyn sat down with Nightline to discuss her 41 day "fairytale" marriage, her continuing love for Chad, and that scary night.
Evelyn also claims to be a different person in "real life" than she is on her show. I don't mean to sound flippant, but I don't buy that for a second. No one deserves any kind of abuse–not Evelyn..and certainly not the women Evelyn has targeted in seasons' past.
Basketball Wives'Evelyn Lozada just can't catch a break, can she? First, she gets head butted by her God awful husband Chad Ochocinco Johnson when the pair had barely been married a month, said headbutting leads to divorce and the cancellation of her spin-off Ev & Ocho. Add to that all the classy ladies Chad was seeing in addition to his wife, and it's been a pretty cruddy couple of weeks for the reality television star.
Well, they say when it rains it pours. Now it seems that Evelyn's first scheduled post-abuse incident interview isn't going as planned either. Not only that, one of Chad's best friends is coming to his defense and blaming Evelyn for the head butt heard 'round the world. Do what?
There are some changes coming on some of your favorite reality shows. From Michael Phelps to P. Diddy, and NeNe Leakes to Kendra Bell, read on to find out what’s rumored to be happening on some of your guiltiest pleasures!
Whether you love her or hate her, you have to admit that Real Housewives of Atlanta’sNeNe Leakes knows how to manage her career. She turned her gig on RHOA to a guest starring spot on Glee, which in turn led to scoring a recurring role on an upcoming sitcom. Back when Kim Zolciak was filming Don’t Be Tardy for the Wedding, there were rumors that NeNe was jealous for not getting her own spin-off. Well, it turns out she has had one in the works…I Dream of NeNe (amazing name, by the way). According to the Examiner, NeNe is the one who pulled the plug on the series because she felt at that time she wouldn’t be able to carry her own show. Apparently, NeNe did get a patent on the title, so the show could come to fruition in the future. Right now, she just wants to focus on her budding acting career. I guess good things do come to those who wait!
Finally, it’s the freakin’ finale of Basketball Wives. I don’t know about y’all, but this season has been incredibly exhausting, and the Tahiti trip has almost made me lose my cool!
We resume the same place we do almost every week, with Evelyn Lozada mouthing off after Jenn Williams escaped into her bungalow. Kenya Bell and Tami Roman are listening to her rants about how fake Jenn is, but I can’t take my attention off her hula hoop sized earrings. Shaunie O’Neal sneaks away to speak with Jenn, but I love that she’s more concerned about Jenn airing the group’s dirty laundry on blogs and twitter instead of Evelyn’s erratic and violent behavior. Why should everything be about appeasing crazy? And I’m not a Jenn fan…I think she should let it go, and I think she is extremely and purposefully pretentious, but geez, Shaunie! She isn’t doing anything worse than Evelyn is!
Erika states: “After working on Season 1 of Vh1′s show “Baseball Wives” I have made the decision not to return for Season 2. I have worked in the television industry for many years and I am a big fan of reality TV, however I am not a big fan of being on a reality show. I have really grown to love my castmates and I have always focused on representing myself, my family and Major League Baseball with the utmost respect. It is my hope that this becomes apparent in the upcoming episodes. I would like to thank Vh1 and Shed Media for the opportunity they have given me.”
Meanwhile, the ratings are out for last week’s premiere and it appears Baseball Wives is far from a hit especially in comparison to its counterpart Basketball Wives.
Last Wednesday’s premiere only managed to pull in a mere 600,000 total viewers. In comparison, the August premiere Basketball Wives brought in 1.8 million viewers. Seems like Baseball Wives will end up another Football Wives…
Finally, the show’s breakout star Anna Benson is now slamming a report by TMZ which claimed she threatened her costars with a stun gun and… a 12-Inch dildo!
In an interview with ESPN, Anna assures us she is really not that cray! “I could care less what people think about me,” said Anna. “I know who I am. My friends know who I am. I don’t really care what someone writes about me.”
When asked about the TMZ report, Anna denies threatening her costars. “It’s just not true. It’s the stupidest thing I’ve heard in my life,” said Anna who is quite notorious for being outrageous. “A lot of people can’t take jokes. I’m there to entertain myself and I’m not a mean-spirited person. I respond to what is given to me. I’m trying to make people laugh.”
A new episode of Baseball Wives airs tonight on VH1 at 9/8c.
TELL US – THOUGHTS ON THE LATEST? ARE YOU SURPRISED THE SHOW PREMIERED TO LOW RATINGS?
The infamous Anna Bensoncontinues to live up to her infamy according to a shocking new report!
TMZ reports Anna, star of VH1′s Baseball Wives, actually threatened her costars with… wait for it… a 12-inch dildo.
Sources tell TMZ that during a recent filming, Anna — wife of former Mets pitcher Kris Benson — got into an argument with Cheri Knoblauch. Okay, not so strange. Things however took a turn for the cray-cray when Anna pulled out a stun gun and set it on a table in a threatening manner.
Okay, still sorta normal. Well, Anna then proceeded to get more creative when she yanked out a 12-inch dildo from her purse and started swinging it at others! So many questions, so little time.
TMZ adds that some of the show’s staffers are now threatening to quit over Anna’s insane behavior! The show’s executives have been forced to step in to try to contain Anna. Wonder if Anna has met Jackie Christie yet? Both ladies seem to have a lot in common!
Speaking of Baseball Wives, the series premiered last night on VH1. Wasn’t all too impressed as something about it was giving me the Real Housewives of Miami. Perhaps it will get better as the season moves along.
TELL US – THOUGHTS ON ANNA’S CRAY-CRAY BEHAVIOR? DID YOU WATCH THE PREMIERE? WHAT DID YOU THINK?
The season premiere of Baseball Wives is right around the corner and if you’ve been dying to see what all the excitement is about, wait no longer as Vh1 is giving us our first glimpse of the show in the form of a supertrailer, titled of all cliff hangers: “Tears, Manipulations, And Bikinis”! I’m hooked already!
The new series will follow the lives of five wives, ex-wives and girlfriends of professional Baseball players as they struggle to balance relationships, friendships and chaos. The Baseball Wives are: Anna Benson (wife of retired Arizona Diamondbacks’ Pitcher Kris Benson), Tanya Grace (ex-wife of retired Chicago Cubs’ First Baseman Mark Grace), Chantel Kendall (ex-wife of Kansas City Royals’ Jason Kendall), Brook Villone (wife of Ron Villone) and Jordana Lenz (linked to no particular athlete in particular – but I’m sure she has an MLB ex or two somewhere).
“The baseball wife community is sort of this rare little club. It’s very complicated,” explains Chantel, who I am betting is the cast’s resident wild child based on reports of a previous love triangle involving Chantel, her ex-husband and rocker Rod Stewart‘s son, Sean!
Anna has already promised plenty of explosions along with some pretty serious mean girl behavior (“skank possum,” anyone?). I predict Anna will occupy the Evelyn Lozado role of this franchise, as in she is capable of some hard-core backstabbing and some unfortunate sexytimes TMI!
The trailer tells us that in the baseball community the wives face an “85% divorce rate” to a “90% chance that your husband’s going to cheat on you,” add that to the often long-distance relationships and the ladies are faced with some pretty insurmountable odds. Oh and the dynamic between the ladies themselves? 100 % D to the Rama!
Watch the exciting supertrailer below and get ready for some fly balls! Baseball Wives premieres on Vh1 Wednesday, November 30 at 9 p.m. ET/PT.
The new VH1 series Baseball Wives doesn’t premiere for two weeks, but one of the show’s stars, Anna Benson, is already stirring up some controversy!
Anna, the outspoken wife of former Mets player Kris Benson, doesn’t hold back in a new interview as she disses the cast of Basketball Wives by stating she and her costars are much, much classier than them. Shots fired!
In a new interview with the NY Post, Anna, a former stripper, declares: “We are not like the ‘Basketball Wives,’ ”adding, “We are classy.” Wowzers.
Even better, Anna, 35, goes on to describe the clASSy manner in which she met her husband. According to Anna, she met Kris in 1998 while dancing at Atlanta club Mardi Gras.
When it comes to her classy costars, Anna explains there will definitely be some fireworks as she admits she is already feuding with one of them. “It definitely will come out, which one I like the least,” she teases. “We can just name her ‘skank.’ Actually, ‘skank possum!’ ”
Anna then goes on to describe her life before meeting her millionaire husband. “When I came to Kris, I had nothing — two pairs of panties and one bra,” said the mother of four. “Suddenly, I found I was married to a millionaire.”
After briefly filing for divorce in 2006, Anna now reveals her marriage is stronger than ever. “I am so in love with Kris. He is such a stud in bed and everywhere else,” she says.
The very outspoken Anna is mostly known for the comments she made on the Howard Stern Show back in 2004 when she threatened to sleep with her husband’s entire team if she ever caught him cheating. Anna also graced the cover of FHM magazine in 2004 when she was named “baseball’s hottest wife.”
Baseball Wives is set to premiere November 30 on VH1 (9/8c).
Below are some older photos of the clASSy Anna including one with her husband Kris!
