Basketball Wives LAis finally returning for season 4 after a long hiatus, but the Miami version of the show has been canceled leaving us only with LA, which is currently filming and fraught with plenty of drama – all of it reportedly centered around Draya Michele! Oh, and Shaunie, O’Neal is back.
The show has cycled through a lot of cast members since it first aired – and after adding Sundy Carter and Brittish Williams last season, producers fired them this season! Last season ended on a dreadful note when Draya flat-out refused to film the reunion with those two ladies. A source tells us the drama is even more insane behind the scenes!
What is it about rites of passage when it comes to reality stars? If they aren't releasing their own cookbook, they're getting stopped on suspicion of drunk driving. I guess there are more ways than one to maintain notoriety once a show finishes filming for the season!
And another one bites the dust. Let's face it, the marriages that endure in light of reality television success are far outnumbered by those that fail. Even the unions that seem the strongest out of the limelight tend to seem cursed the second one (or both!) of the couple allows cameras to film their every move! The most recent victim of this phenomenon is Basketball Wives: LA's star Maylasia Pargo.
Malaysia and soon-to-be-ex husband Jannero Pargo were married in 2006. The reality star claims that she and the Charlotte Hornets NBA player have been separated since December of 2012. I guess that would explain why he's never featured on the show!
It's the battle of the VH1 reality stars! Not only are they feuding on their individual shows, two from different shows are now battling it out on Twitter. I'm sure that Mona Scott Young is laughing all the way to the bank these days!
Both Basketball Wives: LA and Love & Hip Hop have participants who recognize that drama is key to staying relevant. The more fighting and upheaval the better! BBW: LA's newbie Sundy Carter is learning quickly how things work. Not only was there a brawl at the season three reunion, but now Sundy is facing off with Erica Mena on social media. Yup, sounds about right!
This week's reality TV viewer numbers are in – and an impressive 2.206 million watched the Basketball Wives L.A. reunion, bringing its season average to 2.055 million. Sadly, only 861,000 fans bothered with the Southern Charmreunion, but we hope the season finale's 1.21 million and the season average of 943,000 is enough to get it renewed.
On Tuesday, 1.383 million viewers sat through theReal Housewives of New York bickering their way through July 4th. Part two of the Teen Mom 2 reunion attracted 1.351 million. That's a season low for Teen Mom 2. But it's more likely a result of MTV messing with the schedule rather than viewers losing interest.
