BBW LA Recap: Tribute Tats and Pole Dancing

Basketball Wives LA is really disappointing this season. While I don't want the violent drama of the original ladies, but geez, this is boring! The most interesting part of last night's episode was a gay pride tattoo!

Malaysia Pargo, Draya Michele, and Laura Govan head out shopping, and Malaysia really wants the girls to be okay with Jackie Christie. Laura says she doesn't mind if Jackie comes around, she just doesn't want her to expect friendship. Um, wait, didn't Laura just have a nice and civil lunch with Jackie? Is VH1 having an editing snafu? I feel like that scene was filmed before the lunch, or maybe Laura is just that two-faced.

Gloria Govan is preparing for her action web series. Ahh, the internet…it offers so many options. Do people really watch stuff like this online? She meets with the producers who tell her she has two weeks to transform herself into a ballet dancing cold-blooded killer. Gloria is nervous, but she's up to the task.

BBW LA Recap: Agents and Apologies, Bambi and Boredom

Last night's Basketball Wives L.A. resumed with Jackie Christie crashing Gloria Govan's tasting party at Malaysia Pargo's request. As none of the other women had seen Jackie since the reunion (presumably), they were waiting with baited breath for an apology or an explanation…heck, even just a sentence at this point! Draya Michele is shocked when Jackie just fixes a plate, grabs a cocktail, and sits down silently at the table. The queen has arrived!

Malaysia makes a toast to explain Jackie's attendance, and both Gloria and Laura Govan have some catty things to get off of their chests. Jackie is trying to maintain her cool as her buttons are being pushed left and right. Draya says that Jackie is going to work very hard to regain any kind of trust. Poor newbie Brooke Bailey just introduces herself. Jackie begins her apology about being defensive, but Draya and Laura think she is totally lacking sincerity. I'd have to agree.

Matt Barnes Won’t Appear On BBW LA; Season Two Premieres to High Ratings!

We won't be seeing Matt Barnes on this season of Basketball Wives: L.A., but it isn't because the he and Gloria Govan are on the outs with one another. On the first season the couple certainly had their share of highs and lows, eventually calling off their engagement when they couldn't work out their differences.

Isn't it amazing what eight short months can do? Gloria and Matt have reunited…although she claims to have learned a lot about herself in their time apart. This time she'll be facing the craziness of the sophomore season without her man.

Imani Showalter Decided Not to Return for BBW LA; Claims It Was Not In Her “Lane”

Um, please help me out here. As usual, I am watching Basketball Wives: LA this season, and I knew that Imani Showalter's presence was going to be up in the air. I can't say I'm shocked to see that she didn't return this season, as she didn't bring the drama. However, I am totally shocked to see her Twitter profile picture (above). Is that Imani or her daughter? That is not the Imani I remember from last season. Am I going crazy? It's like that recent episode of Real Housewives of New York when an overly airbrushed Pinot Singer was confused for daughter Avery.

Anyhoo, I digress. So Imani isn't joining the crazy ladies for a sophomore season. Little is known about why she isn't back for round two, although there has been a lot of speculation.

BBW LA Recap: Welcome Backy, Wacky Jackie!

The women of Basketball Wives L.A. are back and are as unhinged as ever. At least a few of them are actual wives though, so it is an easier premise to swallow than its original counterpart…sort of. All of the original players are back it appears, although Imani Showalter is missing from the credits and she is replaced by Brooke Bailey.

The show begins with a discussion between Wacky Jackie Christie and her long ~~suffering~~ time spouse and confidante Doug. Jackie is worried about her daughter. After the death of mother, she allowed her daughter to stay in Washington. Jackie isn't sure how well she'll handle this whole "being independent" thing. Doug reveals that Jackie's daughter has texted him a few times, and he thinks she's doing just fine. Jackie starts rationalizing in a way that only Jackie can, blabbering on about sisterhoods and bonds and how easy it is for her to admit when she's wrong. Jackie is ready to apologize to her co-stars, and she has come to the conclusion that she just can't help people who don't want to be helped…and that is all she was trying to do. Again, sort of.

VIDEO: Basketball Wives L.A. Premieres This Monday; Watch a Sneak Peek of the First Episode!

The ladies of Basketball Wives L.A. are back and more dramatic than ever! The season starts this Monday, September 10 at 8PM ET on VH1.

Jackie Christie deals with letting her daughter go out on her own, and she's a bit unnerved to find out that her daughter has been in touch with Doug. Given their interactions, Jackie is still as cray cray as ever. You've got to love this woman.

Laura Govan is back in Los Angeles from Orlando with her new body and a positive outlook on her relationship. Her sister Gloria Govan is working on her relationship Matt Barnes after an eight month break-up, and she's creating a cookbook. The sisters pretend they haven't had much contact in the eight months since filming last wrapped. Oh VH1, you are so subtle with the scripting!

Draya Michelle and Malaysia Pargo are also back for another season. Malaysia has spent the interim in Atlanta, and her jewelry line is doing great. Draya has been modeling up a storm, but she wants to focus solely on her bikini line. This pair of friends is much more willing to give Jackie another chance than the sisters Govan.
