Um, so, ahh…I'm not quite sure what to do with this post. Perhaps I should preface it with situations like this is likely how Jackie Christie got the nickname "Wacky Jackie." Maybe I should categorize it under "where in the H-E-double hockey sticks do paps get their questions?"…I'm just not quite sure.
The Basketball Wives: L.A. star was minding her own business, leaving the mall with pal Sundy Carter, when a paparazzo stops them with an interesting inquiry. In the minute that transpired on video, Jackie and Sunday respond by describing how to torture a mean ol' cat. Confused yet? Me too!
Brandi Maxiell is this season's newest addition to Basketball Wives: LA, but she's been through enough in her life to stay above the petty drama of her co-stars. In 2007, when she was diagnosed with ovarian cancer at age twenty-four. She discusses beating the odds and dealing with the pettiness of the other ladies of BBW: LA, save for friend Malaysia Pargo.
Speaking to Life & Style, Brandi shares, “When I was diagnosed, I had just graduated from college and I was engaged, so I thought I was going to come to Detroit [where she was living at the time], live with my fiancé and I thought I was going to have a lifetime of fun. Literally three weeks of me living in Detroit, I started to feel all these symptoms and my life went for a turn.”
On Monday, RHOBH garnered 1.833 million viewers. That's right in line with this season's average. There's one regular episode, a three-part reunion, and a secrets revealed episode left to go. Need. More. Wine. Also, 1.896 million tuned intoBasketball Wives L.A.onVH1, and 983,000 watched the premiere of Southern Charmon Bravo.
On Tuesday, just over two million die-hard fans sat through Dance Moms, and 2.114 million viewers watched Teen Mom 2. The season 7 premiere of The Game on BET knocked Teen Mom 2 out of the top spot with a fantastic rating and 3.356 million viewers. And 993,000 watched Flipping Out on Wednesday.
Do y'all miss Brooke Bailey on this season of Basketball Wives: LA? That's what I thought. While Brooke was likeable on the show, I didn't feel like she had much of a story line unless she was fighting with Jackie Christie or feuding with former friend Draya Michele. She just didn't seem to be around a lot.
Of course, don't feel bad for Brooke no longer being featured on everyone's guilty pleasure of a train wreck. Wanting to set an example for her two children, Brooke has gone back to school and is focused on her new cleanse and lingerie line. Would she consider reality television again? Well, what do you think! As long as it's drama-free! Drama-free reality television? That's an oxymoron if I've ever heard one!
Bad Numbers: 2.072 million fans watched Keeping Up with the Kardashians this week. That's a 500,000 drop from last week's over-hyped proposal show. Part two the Shahs of Sunset reunion garnered 1.044 million viewers. Do you think Shahs of Sunset will return with a season average of 1.272 million?

Well, it's a good thing that Laura Govan isn't returning to Basketball Wives: L.A. because breaking the law doesn't make for a good story line! Oh wait, this is VH1, so yes, yes, it probably does! Laura was just slapped with a lawsuit which alleges she violated federal law. That's never good!
Sometimes I feel sorry for VH1. It tries, it really does. The networks problem is saturation. One reality series is going well? Let's copy it in film a franchise in every state! These basketball players' wives are causing major drama and enticing viewers? Let's find more basketball wives? Wait, there aren't any? Well, that's okay! Let's find some women who maybe dated, had a baby with, or got an autograph from an NBA player. That's the same, right?
You know where I'm going with this, don't you? It's time to welcome back the women of Basketball Wives: L.A. to our televisions! It seems like they've been gone forever…and I haven't really missed them, to be honest. We'll see some new of our old favorites (is Draya Michele's new beau dating Jackie Christie's daughter too?), and some new faces who are already fitting right in. One of the new ladies has an online business with an "F" rating from the Better Business Bureau! Sounds about right!
