Someone start playing the violin because Basketball Wives'Shaunie O'Neal has a sad story to tell. Not only is her show criticized left and right for portraying women in a hateful, bitter, and violent light (she's working on that, y'all!), but now she may have given someone the boot far too soon.
That's right! Shaunie is having second thoughts about canning former friend Jennifer Williams. While Nostrils doesn't lose any sleep over firing Royce Reed, she's starting to feel melancholy about dear ol' Jenn.
Yap, yap, yap. Yada, yada, yada. Woh woh, woh woh (in my best Peanuts teacher voice). Lather, rinse, repeat. If we've heard it once, we've heard it a thousand times…except in this case, we actually have heard it a thousand times. Basketball Wives creator and star Shaunie O'Neal is sick of the violence, bullying, and all-around hateful tone the show has taken since…well, since its inception. She's wants to prove to fans that her ladies can conduct themselves with class and dignity. This should be good!
Speaking to The Grio, Shaunie wants viewers to know that the ladies are working hard to get away from past bad behavior. She tells the site, “For the most part, I think people were trying to do better, making an effort. I think that’s what’s most important. The effort is being made."
However, she does admit, “It’s not that we did a 360, that we’re coming in brand new and angels. Trust me, there are some moments." I don't doubt that for a minute. You can put lipstick on a pig, but…
After a loooong hiatus where the show regrouped following an extremely negative season 4 the fifth season finally premieres this August. As previously reported Royce Reed and Jennifer Williams are not returning. In their place is Tasha Marbury, wife of former NY Nicks player Stephon Marbury.
On her feelings after the violent argument with Chad: “At that point, I knew my life would never be the same. I knew the world was going to laugh at me and be mean and nasty and blame me for everything. But I had no choice. I had to go to the hospital.”
It was the slap heard 'round VH1, and it preceded the bare-footed table jumping that will surely be an event at the next summer Olympics if Evelyn Lozada has her way. At the very least, it should be some new Derby parlor game!
Well, are they or aren't they? All of the gossip lately surrounding Basketball Wives: L.A. is that the show won't be returning for another season. However, thanks to an overly eager cast, we're getting word now that we'll be treated to yet another round with these wackadoos!
Not only did Draya Michele post the above picture on her Instagram, she claims that it was taken while filming new episodes. Brooke Bailey also dished on the upcoming season at a recent event.
Sometimes I just want to give Royce Reed a high five. Sure, she's been unlucky in love and she got fired from Basketball Wives, but she always keeps things real…especially when she's dealing with former co-star Evelyn Lozada. She doesn't back down, does she?
Recently, Evelyn has told any media outlet that would listen that she's learning to be a better, more peaceful person. She even went on Iyanla Vanzant's "Fix My Life" last September where she told the self-help guru that she's working towards becoming a woman of God. Of course, that sentiment flew out the window last week when Evelyn resurrected her favorite phrase in an interview with Upscale calling Royce a non-m-effing-factor.
