After longtime speculation that Bethenny Frankel and Jason Hoppy wouldn't make it through the third year of marriage following a rocky and difficult second year featured on Bethenny Ever After, Bethenny finally announced the couple was separating.
The shocking part of the announcement was the timing! Bethennyrevealed the split two days before Christmas.
Bethenny has been coy about her relationship with Jason for months, even skirting the issue on a recent WWHL appearance. Multiple reports emerged that the couple broke up around Thanksgiving when they spent the holiday separately. Jason has been conspicuously absent from photos and Bethenny's twitter in recent months as well.
Many wonder why Bethenny waited so long to reveal that her marriage was over – and just why she timed it so close to the holidays? While I suspected it was so the news would get less attention in the wake of holiday related events, according to RadarOnline Bethenny just couldn't keep their separation a secret from friends and family any longer! She really expects us to believe their friends and family weren't aware they haven't been together for over a month? Ok then…
"Jason wanted to wait till after the holidays were over but Bethenny insisted that she could not carry on the charade of pretending to be a happy couple any longer, especially not in front of their closest friends and family," the source explains. "Basically, in the end Bethenny decided, no more secrets and lies – let's get it out in the open, for better or for worse."
Bethenny released a statement this afternoon to confirm the break up news.
"It brings me great sadness to say that Jason and I are separating. This was an extremely difficult decision that as a woman and a mother, I have to accept as the best choice for our family. We have love and respect for one another and will continue to amicably co-parent our daughter who is and will always remain our first priority. This is an immensely painful and heartbreaking time for us."
Bethenny also took to Twitter to express her sadness.
Bethenny and Jason have been together since 2008 and have one child together, daughter Bryn Hoppy, 2.
Aaaahhh… same old saga, eh? What product does Bethenny Frankel have hitting the market? Kidding, kidding! Anyway, the Bethenny Ever After star may not be so happily ever after any more.
Bethenny has been tweeting up a storm about holiday activities with daughter Bryn and her upcoming talk show, as well as handing out fitness, nutrition, and holiday tips. What is Bethenny NOT mentioning? Husband Jason Hoppy! Where is that guy?
Well, perhaps there's a reason… Bethenny's marriage has been plagued by break-up rumors since the beginning and Bethenny's reality show showed the couple fighting and growing exceedingly distant from each other.
"Things have gotten even more strained in recent months," a friend tells Us Weekly. "They're fighting a lot." In fact the couple is barely spending any time together at all! Bethenny spent Thanksgiving on a girls' weekend and Jason reportedly missed the Skinnygirl Christmas party for a golf weekend.
Bethenny and her daughter, Bryn Hoppy, were spotted hitting the pool in Miami together this weekend. Bethenny showed off her tiny and muscular physique in a white bikini as she played in the pool and hit the waterslides with her little sweetie.
She's brash and loud and skinny and quite the alcohol mogul. Whether you're her biggest fan or she's the reality star you love to hate, everyone seems to have an opinion on Bethenny Frankel.
The former Real Housewives of New York star has made a name for herself with spin-offs, cocktails, and a daytime talk show. She has a cult like following and an equally large number of people who can't stand to hear her voice. However, you can't deny that her sharp wit and acidic tongue can be downright hilarious.
New Yorker Bethenny Frankel has experienced the devastation of Superstorm Sandy firsthand. The Bethenny Ever After star who lives in TriBeCa mentioned that her building has been through multiple evacuation drills and was without power, but on the bright side she was able to spend 24/7 with husband Jason Hoppy and daughter, Bryn.
And using her newfound wealth, the reality star decided to help those less fortunate than by donating $50,000 the Red Cross. Bethenny took to Twitter to beseech fans and others to donate, writing: "Please give back to the tri-state area that has given so much to us @RedCross simply Txt REDCROSS 90999 to make a $10 donation."
Adding to the awesomeness of Bethenny's donation, Skinnygirl Cocktails – owned by BeamGlobal has decided to match Bethenny's personal donation by donating another $50,000. In addition to that, Skinnygirl Daily provided 5,000 Skinnygirl On The Go bars to the Red Cross relief effort in New Jersey to be handed out to victims.
Say it ain't so! I was upset enough to hear that my Silver Fox's daytime talk show has not been renewed, but now there are rumors swirling that Anderson Live may be replaced with Bethenny Frankel's show. Now, I don't have anything against Bethenny (that said, I have nothing for her either), but I do adore Anderson Cooper. Plus, having seen Bethenny's show, it's not something I would watch on a regular basis. Anderson, however, is a daily staple.
While I feel slightly placated due to the fact that Anderson's show will stick around until summer of next year, there is another show already circling his time slot. Before Bethenny fans remind me that she isn't personally responsible for Anderson's cancelation and she likely has little to do with her show taking its place, I totally realize that. It's really not so much that I'm opposed to Bethenny's show becoming syndicated, I just really enjoy Anderson's show.
