Jeff Lewis andHeather Dubrow both have enormous egos and always have to be right, so, naturally they don’t like each other. Now that the two started arguing over who more rude and obnoxious (a toss-up?!), they just can’t quit! Interestingly, they share mutual friends in Tamra Judge and Shannon Beador. Oh dear – that makes for awkward future get togethers (roll the cameras!).
Only 24 hours after the preview of Season 9’s Flipping Out, and here we are on episode two! Is it Christmas in July? No, but it’s a filthy mess at Jeff Lewis‘ new construction zone house, Valley Vista. The sweet sound of circular saws and sledgehammers lulls Jeff to sleep each night, but also drives him to the brink of his OCD.
Gage Edward and crew seem like they are speaking more quietly than ever, almost literally tip-toeing around Jeff as he loses his mind over piles of wood, missing nails, and contractors’ cell phones lying around.
Who knew last night’s episode of Watch What Happens Live would ignite a Bravolebrity war? Jeff Lewis was a guest on the show and during the network-aired portion he was asked to name his favorite and least favorite housewives. He revealed that Real Housewives of Orange County’sHeather Dubrow was his least favorite (Shannon Beador for his favorite) and then didn’t really expand much on it…until the After Show.
A fan asked Heather on Twitter why Jeff would choose her and she replied, “Who knows. Asshole.”
On the After Show, Andy Cohen urged him to share what the deal was between the two of them. Jeff shared a story about being seated across fro her at a dinner at Shannon Beador’shouse, at first saying he just didn’t care for her, but then went on to claim that she had treated the staff poorly and he didn’t like it. Heather didn’t take his accusations too well, naturally. It’s one thing to just not like someone, but it’s another to accuse them of poor treatment of others.
O, Season 9 of Flipping Out, how I’ve patiently awaited your long overdue arrival! (And we get a 2-night premiere to boot! YES!) It’s been nearly a year since we last saw Jeff Lewis and the gang, and now that they’re back, all is right with the world again. Last seen, Jeff was mediating between longtime housekeeper/mother figure/future nanny Zoila Chavez and boyfriend/future baby daddy Gage Edward. Zoila either got the bad edit last season, or she was extra grumpy about folding Jeff’s undershorts into perfect hexagons. Whatever the case, she took out her rage on Gage, who dealt with her passive aggressive insults all season long. Until Jeff negotiated a fragile peace between them during the season 8 finale.
In the time between then and now, Gage and Jeff have announced they are expecting a baby girl via surrogacy. Wheeeeeeeeeee! (Please let them decorate the baby room on camera, please let them decorate the baby room on camera – if I chant this enough times, will it work!!?!?) But before all of this good news unfolds, let’s check in with what’s transpired since the crew departed once and for all from their beloved Gramercy. Answer: Lots.
It’s a girrrrrrrl!!! Last year on Flipping Out, Jeff Lewis and boyfriend Gage Edward were seriously pursuing a surrogate to carry their first child together. Since the season wrapped, Jeff hinted that things were progressing, then word broke that the couple were officially expecting. Now we are learning that their little bundle of joy is a baby girl! She’s due in October.
After the adoption process they were exploring fell apart, Jeff and Gage were left “heartbroken and disappointed.” But their 3-4 year surrogacy journey was not in vain. Despite its “many obstacles,” Jeff gushes, “there’s a happy ending. I can’t tell you how grateful and appreciative we are.”
Good news – maybe?! – the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills has already been renewed. Bad news – the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills cast won’t change much for season seven. Why can’t we have nice things?
Earlier today, Bravo announced the six new and fourteen returning shows that will fill its summer and fall schedules. Obviously, RHOBH is on the list for fall. It will be a while before the cast is set in stone and revealed; however, when a fan tweeted @ Andy Cohen that Lisa Rinna, Yolanda Foster, Erika Girardi, and Eileen Davidson must go, he replied, “No way!”
Are y’all still with me? If you haven’t taken a sledgehammer to your phone/tablet/computer because of Andy‘s bad judgementTweet, look below to find out what other questionable choices goodies Bravo has in store for viewers.
Well, we’ve come to the end of our OCD journey. For now. To wrap up the short 8-episode season of Flipping Out, Jeff Lewis‘s design business takes a back seat to Jeff Lewis’s personal life – and household strife. Tensions rise to their boiling point with Zoila Chavez and her long time nemesis, Gage Edward. And it’s Jeff’s job to mediate between the two for life.
Before we get into the thick of the drama, we begin – where else? – in the car, of course! Where Jeff basically lives. The important task of thinking about dinner is underway, because it’s not just any dinner! It’s a dinner meeting between Jeff, Gage and their potential surrogate, who they haven’t met yet. Jeff says they haven’t chosen an egg donor yet. But he does want to choose his dinner from an online menu before arriving at the restaurant, thus maximizing his time talking about serious matters when they dine. Jenni Pulos asks Jeff if he realizes that having a baby means you don’t have control over every bit of minutiae in your world? Jeff’s response: to read off more menu items in detail. Jeff admits he’s nervous about the meeting, worried that the surrogate won’t like him. He confesses, “I need her more than she needs me.”
