Jeff Lewis is all kinds of fired up – and well, fired. The original “Truth Cannon” was fired from his gig as a creative director for “Living Spaces.” In what he is referring to as “#ChannaGate,” Jeff shared on twitter that he was fired from the company after he commented that other employees weren’t do their jobs.
Living Spaces sells furniture, home decor, and other home items. In a recent episode of Flipping Out, Jeff was doing a photoshoot for the company catalog, and got into a tiff with an employee named Channa, who was supposed to bring accessories and products (purchased by Jeff) for the staging of the photos but didn’t follow through.
There’s change in the air at Jeff Lewis Design. On last night’s Flipping Out, Jeff scrambles to find a place to live while trying to please tough clients whose design aesthetics don’t mesh with his. With Gramercy sold and Jeff and Gage Edward on the cusp of parenthood decisions, Jeff is working at a breakneck pace to get his affairs in order. At the Finley property, work is still underway to get the bungalows ready before Gramercy, now in escrow, closes. Jeff and Gage plan to move into Finley while they plan their next move. So, what is their plan? Jeff and Gage will live in one bungalow, Zoila Chavez in the second, and Jeff’s employees will work in the third. But there’s still a lot of work to be done at Finley, and Jeff is getting nervous about the time crunch.
Raznik, the giggliest delivery man to ever grace a TV screen, is at Finley arguing with Jeff over leaving electrical supplies at the property overnight before Francisco can install them the following day. Jenni Pulos describes Raznik as being in “the top 5” of “interesting types” on these job sites. Raznik grabs the phone from Jenni to bark unintelligibly into the phone to Francisco, finally striking an agreement to leave the expensive supplies behind. But not before Jeff steals Raznik’s gum. Of course.
After last week’s sad episode, it’s good to be back to the nuts and bolts of the design world with Jeff Lewis and the gang on this week’s Flipping Out. Gage Edward and Jeff are ready to put Gramercy on the market, despite their strong emotional connection to the house.
Jeff says that he likes change, but “controlled change.” What doesn’t he like? Sitting so close to Jenni Pulos in their joint interview segments. It’s all about personal space, people! Jeff wants to sell Gramercy to buyers who pinky swear that they will not change a THING about it. Not a window treatment, nor a black wall, nor a single brick in the patio. Any takers out there?
On last night’s bittersweet Flipping Out, it’s all about the circle of life. While Jeff Lewis and Gage Edward get serious about taking steps toward having a child via surrogacy, they get some devastating news about Jeff’s beloved 14-year old cat, Stewie.
At Gramercy, Jeff, Jenni Pulos, and Gage are getting the day started with (what else?) checklists of appointments. Their first appointment of the day is with the Egg Hunter, LA’s resident surrogacy coordinator who helps future parents “hunt” for the right woman as an egg donor. It’s like online dating, but for Jeff, it’s more like Grindr. Because he’s more worried about Who’s Hot and Who’s Not rather than who gets 4.0s in college, pays taxes, and votes. Gage is just worried that if they’re not discerning, the worst case scenario would be “to have a little Joe.” Since Jeff is a “little older” (cough, cough) than Gage, he’s going to be the sperm donor for Baby #1, while Gage will cough up the goods for Baby #2. “You gotta understand, I am not a young person,” says Jeff. “When you’re dropping the kid off at college, you’ll be dropping me off at the Home.”
It’s a great day at Jeff Lewis Design! We’re only on episode 2 and already have one flip out behind us, one new clueless intern ahead, and the rest of the Flipping Out gang (minus Andrew, of course) back in action.
This week, we begin at Gramercy where Jeff is hearing news from Gage Edwardabout a “Jefferson thing” sent via text to Intern Joe, who has no idea what that means. Neither does Jeff. But before Joe can blink, in walks Gage to snipe at him to “get clarification in person” next time he has a question – rather than pass on his weird text messages to Jeff sans interpretive call? Gage is stressed and Jeff is snippy. The addition of Joe as Gage’s “assistant” was supposed to help ease Gage’s stress, however Joe’s obvious inadequacy in sending mail and answering text messages is hurting rather than helping the already tense situation.
The wait is over! Grab your breath spray and your cherry chapstick, because our favorite OCD interior decorator Jeff Lewis and the gang are finally back for season 8 of Flipping Out! I have been giddy just watching Bravo previews, but now that we’re back inside Gramercy with Jeff, Zoila Chavez, Jenni Pulos, and Gage Edward (wah, wah), it’s like Christmas in July for this girl!
We open at Gramercy, Jeff and Gage’s gorgeous home, where Jeff is rising before the crack of dawn to demand coffee from Zoila and to wake Gage up via intercom so they can get the day started. Jeff interviews that he is sick of clients and their high maintenance needs, and wonders if he couldn’t just make more money developing products and flipping houses? He feels like he is aging “at a dramatic rate” because business is so stressful. Gage joins Jeff in the kitchen to get his caffeine IV drip going, updating Jeff about his client appointments that day. Jeff feels like they are chasing their tails, too busy, and working seven days a week. Gage is used to a frantic pace, having grown up working in his parents’ Nebraska businesses seven days a week since childhood. Jeff admits his business wouldn’t be nearly as successful without Gage’s help these past six years that they’ve been partners – both in work and love. “I mean, if something happened to Gage, I’d lose a lot of money,” quips Jeff. “That can’t happen.” Ah, that’s why I love this man.
My love of Jeff Lewisand Flipping Out rivals only my love of the paint color “greige” (the majority of my household’s rooms are literally covered in this palette due to Jeff’s unnatural influence over me). But, alas! Apart from a short-lived spinoff show and an ill-fated appearance with Brandi Glanville on What What Happens Live, Jeff Lewis has been…well, kind of MIA. But, fans of OCD decorating everywhere: rejoice! A long awaited new season of Flipping Out is heading our way July 1st on Bravo!
In a sneak peak clip, we see that the main cast of characters is back, including Jeff’s long suffering assistant Jenni Pulos, Jeff’s boyfriend (and everyone else’s nemesis) Gage Edward, and live in housekeeper Zoila Chavez. Jeff says he’s been in hibernation for awhile, but he’s “coming out…again!” For him, that means not only flipping properties and tearing his contractors – and employees – new a-holes every once in a while, but also thinking about having a baby with Gage. “Am I too old to have a baby?” Jeff asks at an appointment on the preview clip.
