Giuliana and Bill Rancic have finally had their dream come true. The couple welcomed a baby boy via surrogate into the world late Wednesday evening.
""The 'Duke' has landed. Edward Duke Rancic was welcomed into the world last night at 7lbs 4oz. G & I feel blessed beyond words…We did it!," Bill ecstatically tweeted.
"Bill and I are blessed beyond words to welcome Edward into our lives," Giuliana told E! News. "Thank you so much to everyone who supported us along the way. We are so in love with the little guy already!"
Not only is E! correspondent Giuliana Rancic expecting a baby with husband Bill Rancic via gestational surrogate, she’s also got an upcoming series on NBC called Ready for Love which she’ll co-host with Bill. What more could a woman want? How about Kris Jenner as a bestie? Umm….
It turns out that the two ladies are not just part of the E! Network together (or, let’s face it, the Kardashian Network), they are also really close friends. Who knew?
The E! News anchor and her Apprentice winning husband have certainly been through a lot this past year, so I am thrilled that Giuliana and Bill Rancic have some exciting news to share. After discovering she had breast cancer while undergoing fertility treatments, the couple didn’t give up on their dream to have a child. The pair announced in April that they were expecting a baby via gestational surrogate. Reality TV reports that their upcoming bundle of joy will be a boy!
“We are beyond excited to be having a little boy,” Bill says “We are so ready for everything that comes with being a new mom and dad!”
His wife agrees, citing, “This truly is a miracle baby.”
Giuliana Rancic has been bravely battling cancer in the public eye and the reality star has openly and honestly let fans share her journey. Tonight marks the premiere of Giuliana & Bill. This season the couple will give us a glimpse into their harrowing experience dealing with Giuliana’s diagnosis, all while still struggling to achieve their goal of having a child.
Speaking about the dramatic season and the events that took place during filming, Giuliana admits it’s been a struggle to accept her new body following a double mastectomy to remove cancerous tissue from her breasts. Months after the operation, Giuliana confesses she still felt self-conscious on camera.
“I’d be about to interview someone and I’d notice they’d see my pulling up the dress and [wonder] if they were looking at my boobs,” Giuliana shares. “It went from ‘I think I’m showing too much cleavage’ to ‘Cover these damn things up.'”
“I felt like my body let me down,” she tells Us Weekly.
And yesterday on the TODAY show, Giuliana, appearing along with husband Bill Rancic, gave fans an update on her health and her quest to become a mother. “I won’t be needing chemotherapy,” she reveals, but she is taking an oral medication that will continue to make getting pregnant difficult.
In light of the diagnosis and Giuliana’s continued treatment, the couple is considering adoption and surrogacy to achieve their goal of becoming parents. “We’re definitely having to explore other options… We absolutely want a child,” she explained.
“Whether you have a baby naturally, through adoption, through surrogacy, it’s your baby. You’re going to love that baby and that’s all that matters,” Giuliana added.
Giuliana and Bill are very much supportive of each other and this experience has strengthened their marriage. “It helped us find the humor in everything because when you go through something this tough, you have to, at some point, laugh, and get back to your normal life…,” Giuliana revealed of their incredible relationship. “It has reinvigorated our relationship and we’re closer than ever.” Bill agreed, “It makes the little things seem not so important.”
Finally, tonight Giuliana and Bill return for their fifth season and the couple allows us a first-hand glimpse into the moment that changed both their lives. A preview of the season premiere is below.

Some positive, non-violent reality news to report on today which is always nice! After undergoing a double mastectomy over three weeks ago, Giuliana Rancic is reporting that she’s “doing better than I anticipated in recovery.” In fact, the star of Giuliana and Bill is claiming that her battle with breast cancer has actually improved her quality of life. That’s some attitude — we should all take note!
Not surprisingly, she’s already back to work and back to her life… just a better life, she says. Speaking to PEOPLE.com while at a Television Critics Association press tour luncheon this past weekend, Giuilana revealed, “I never thought my marriage could be stronger, or I could be closer to [my husband Apprentice winner] Bill [Rancic].” The E! host reveals that the frightening ordeal has been a positive life changer “in so many ways.”
Discussing Bill and her religious views, Giuliana shares, “We go to church every Sunday. And we did before, but it never meant as much as it does now.” She continues, “We prayed on our own, but now we prayed together and you’ll never know how much that means until you do it. Bill and I have changed our lives in that one way.”
Giuliana reveals that she hasn’t had a moment’s pause about her recent surgery which removed both of her breasts — nor should she. It greatly improved her future health. She states, “The surgery brought my risks down 95 to 100 percent. If I had a lumpectomy, I would have early estrogen menopause for at least two years, and I want to have children.”
Using the humor she’s known for both on her show and on the red carpet, Giuliana dishes, “I didn’t give two sh––s about my breasts. I didn’t care that at the Golden Globes, I wouldn’t be able to show cleavage.” Her chest size doesn’t define her career.
She recalls, “A lot of people were shocked. They said, ‘Are you sure you want to do this? Think about the life you lead and the fabulous dresses and that’s part of your job. It could put your job in jeopardy.’ And I thought, if I ever have a job that is defined by my breasts and some gorgeous gown then I’m in the wrong business.”
And honestly, who needs cleavage when they have a loving, supportive husband by their side every step of the way through the good, the bad and the ugly. “It breaks my heart that a lot of women don’t have a supportive husband,” Giuliana tells the magazine. She gushes, “Bill’s a saint, and the hottest male nurse ever. He’s very protective and it’s almost as hard for him as it was for me.”
I am so happy to see that Giuliana made the health decision that she felt was best for her, regardless of stigmas, criticism or potential insecurities. I think Bill and her are a wonderful public example for the millions of women and men who face the devastation of breast cancer on a daily basis. Do I think she’s a hero? Yes. But I also think all the other women who have been in her shoes without the recognition are as well. I applaud her for using the platform she’s been blessed with to spread awareness about an all too common epidemic.

CAN YOU BELIEVE GIULIANA’S ALREADY BACK AT WORK AFTER HER SURGERY? WHAT DO YOU THINK OF HER INTERVIEW?
Giuliana, 37, who also underwent reconstructive surgery, was back on the set at E! News on Tuesday. “Back at work today since surgery,” tweeted Giuliana. “Excited to be on set of @ENews. I’ve missed my 2nd family (co-workersnd you guys!!!) #thankful”
In a statement to E! Online, the Giuliana & Bill star wrote, “Even though I moved a tad slower than usual today, everyone welcomed me back with open arms and it was a wonderful homecoming.”
She added: “It feels great to be back at work,” she says. “I wasn’t sure whether I was going to return to E! News this week or after the new year. The last thing I wanted to do was rush my recovery. Thankfully, I’ve been feeling better every single day since surgery and this weekend my doctors gave me the green light to get back to work.”
Giuliana had her surgery on Dec. 13 after lumpectomies failed to eradicate her breast cancer. She revealed that she decided to go with the aggressive surgery in order to continue attempts to have a baby with hubby Bill Rancic.
“If I had chosen to just have another lumpectomy… Then I would have to put off having a baby for several years,” said Giuliana earlier this month, as the procedures following another lumpectomy could have left her at the age of menopause. Nice to see Giuliana is recovering well and back to work!
After sharing her struggles with infertility, E! network’s entertainment news anchor and host of Fashion Police Giuliana Rancic shocked fans with the announcement that she was diagnosed with breast cancer, discovered as she and Apprentice winning husband Bill Rancic were prepping for another round of in vitro fertilization. The couple, who also star in Style Network’s reality show Giuliana and Bill, were upfront with her diagnosis and recently revealed that after a double lumpectomy Giuliana would need additional surgery. After the original procedure failed to eradicate all of the cancer, the entertainment personality underwent a double mastectomy.
EOnline.com is happily reporting that Giuliana’s surgery was a success and the star “came through in great spirits.” Her husband Bill tells the network, “G is doing really well. Her surgery lasted about four hours and the doctors were very pleased with the result.” He continues, “She had a little bit of pain through the night but is feeling much better this morning and was cracking jokes.” I am so thrilled to hear that she is in a positive place after such a tumultuous ordeal.
Giuliana herself had a statement to share after her surgery, saying, “I want to thank all the viewers and fans for their support and prayers. The tweets and notes have not gone unnoticed. I am very grateful.” Without question, her well wishes will certainly continue.
Before her mastectomy, Giuliana opened up to Hollywoodlife.com about the decision to go public with her story. While the 37-year-old personality has kept her fans in the loop with the prognosis every step of the way, she reveals that sharing her story wasn’t always her intent.
Giuliana admitted, “There was definitely a period of time when we thought, we’ll probably keep this a secret… forever. And then, I don’t know, it’s just not my personality. I kept thinking to myself, ‘Gosh, I wish I could tell my friends what I’m going through or girls at work, just because I wanted to tell them to get checked and tell them, ‘Hey guys, if this can happen to me, then it could happen to you!’”
“I knew I would never be able to keep this a secret because I was armed with this incredible knowledge that if you can just find breast cancer early enough you can be totally fine and healed,” the host shares. Having made the public part of her recovery, she is probably helping more people than she could even imagine. Say what you will about her shows or her lifestyle, but bringing awareness to this disease is the most important thing that she — or anyone else with such a large public platform — could do. Kudos to you, Giuliana!
Now that Giuliana is recovering from surgery, she will surely focus on her next gig — hosting the New Year’s Eve NIVEA Kiss Platform in New York City with Bill at her side. I’m sure some will say it’s too early for her to step back into the limelight, but I believe that she’s proving she won’t let cancer stop her from living her life.
Sadly, the majority of readers have probably seen what this horrendous disease has done to the lives of family and friends. Personally, I have watched several strong and influential women in my life overcome breast cancer, becoming role models to everyone who knows them. Unfortunately, I also witnessed my mother succumb to this disease when I was twenty-two years old, and seeing the influence and awareness that people like the Rancics can bring to such a worthy cause is heartwarming to me.
Here at RT, our prayers and well wishes go out to Giuliana and Bill, as well as to all those who have been affected by breast cancer.

WHAT WOULD YOU LIKE TO CONVEY TO THE RANCICS DURING THIS TIME? THOUGHTS ON HER GOING BACK TO WORK SO SOON?
Today, the E! news reporter revealed she is choosing to undergo a double mastectomy after her double lumpectomy failed to completely eradicate the breast cancer.
Giuliana, 36, appeared on the Today Show this morning with husband Bill Rancic, during which the couple revealed they considered another lumpectomy and radiation. They are, however, electing to go with the more drastic option to make certain the cancer is gone. According to her doctors, the cancer will have a less than 1 percent chance of returning.
“At the end, all it came down to was choosing to live and not looking over my shoulder for the rest of my life,” Giuliana said of her decision to proceed with the aggressive surgery. “It was not an easy decision but it was the best decision for me.” she says.
“I would like to take the stigma away. ‘Mastectomy’ the word seemed so scary to me at first. After doing research and seeing the advancements, the surgery has come a long way from 20 years ago. The results can be incredible,” added Giuliana.
Another deciding factor for Giuliana is the fact that she and hubby Bill are still trying to have a baby. “If I had chosen to just have another lumpectomy… Then I would have to put off having a baby for several years,” said Giuliana, as the procedures following another lumpectomy could leave her at the age of menopause.
Bill’s support also played a major role in her decision. “Bill said to me, ‘I just need you around for the next 50 years, kid,’ ” said Giuliana. “He said, ‘I don’t care what you look like, I don’t care about the physical portion of this. I just need you around for the next 50 years. So, let’s just get you healthy.’ And that certainly helped me come to a decision.”
Despite the setback, the Giuliana and Bill stars remains positive. “I hope for a full recovery by New Year’s Eve. We’re planning to be in Times Square!” Giuliana says. “2012 is our year,” adds Bill. “We’re going to ring in the New Year happy and healthy.”
Best wishes to Giuliana and Bill.
