I am really in total shock after last night's Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta! Benzino was shot? On the way to his mother's funeral? I was certainly not expecting that to happen. Oh wait. Of course, I knew that the horrible incident occurred, but I was admittedly surprised that it was covered on the show–as if Mona knew it was going to happen all along. I wonder how much all the re-shoots and additional scenes cost the network in production. Anyone care to make a wager? I did notice that Benzino's injured arm must be recovering well because in the slow motion scene where he's running to his car because he's carrying his luggage with it. That part had to have been filmed after the fact, right?
Karlie Redd and Erica Dixon are catching up over manicures, and Erica reveals that she kicked O'Shea to the curb…literally. He just had to stand on the curb and whine since his car was out of gas. She was tired of being his piggy bank. The women gossip about all of Althea's conquests. Erica dishes that Ho-thea had a night with Stevie J., and Karlie is laughing because she was also with Mimi Faust's Nikko. There seems to be a lot of cross pollinating going on with this crew. Karlie can't wait to share the news withJoseline Hernandez. That's what friends are for! I think all of these ladies need to broaden their romantic horizons. Certainly Stevie, 'Zino, and Nikko aren't the only players in Atlanta!
There isn't much to report on this week's reality TV viewer numbers. The shows either remained steady or gained a handful of viewers – no big losses, which is good, because most of these shows can't afford to lose any fans. On Sunday, Kandi's Wedding saw a season high with 2.557 million tuning in to see Kandi's bachelorette party, and Married to Medicine garnered 1.706 million viewers.
Apparently Renee Graziano is taking over reality TV. All reality TV. She'll be sowing her wild oats as she spreads the love around VH1. But don't worry – she's not leaving her home showMob Wives!
Renee chatted with Wetpaint about expanding her reality TV palate by taking guest runs on Hollywood Exes to hang out with the cast. Not only is she appearing on Hollywood Exes (which just goes to show you don't have to be a Hollywood ex or even live in Hollywood to make the cut), but we're also going to see her on Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta…also proving that you don't have to live in Atlanta or have any ties to the hip hop community to be in good with Mona Scott Young.
Erica Pinkett was brutally attacked in the bathroom at Atlanta's Taboo Club on June 9th. And here's where it gets interesting (OK – freaking scary as heck!) – Erica believes the attack was a hit orchestrated by a fellow Love & Hip Hop Atlanta star!
Erica told police she was leaving the bathroom of the club when a woman attacked her from behind; hitting her in the face then throwing her to the ground where she slashed Erica's arm with a razor blade. The result was a bloody gash.
Mo money, mo problems, right? Maybe the phrase should be "Mona money, Mona problems" because the cast of Love & Hip Hop Atlanta can't seem to stay on the straight and narrow. Leaked sex tapes and funeral shootings and Nikko's smirk, oh my! Mona Scott Young should pitch a spin-off that's sober house meets Couples Therapy. Just kidding…I'm trademarking that idea as I type. TM, Mona, T.M.
So I predicted that Mona posted Stevie J.'s bail after he was arrested for owing more than $1 million in child support (how is that even a thing??), and it turns out I was right. However, it seems that not paying for his children isn't Stevie's only issue (and I'm not counting the Puerto Rican princess).
On last night's Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta, I truly started to wonder just how orchestrated this craziness is. Based on the preview I was wondering if cameras were actually around when Benzino got shot on the way to his mom's funeral. At this point, nothing would surprise. I feel like the scene with Stevie J. telling Joseline Hernandez about the entire situation was filmed so long after the fact. I just can't handle the scriptedness!
Anyhoo, the episode begins with Althea, or Ho-thea as Joseline has coined her, in the studio, and the Puerto Rican princess heads to the studio to see if she's the real deal. Althea brags that it only took her one night to record her latest single and she suggests that she and Joseline should cut a track together. Please! Joseline only sings ho-lo, I mean solo. She isn't impressed with Althea, and Joseline is throwing a ton of shade regarding Althea sleeping with the entire cast. She hopes that Althea isn't playing Benzino. He's finally found the love of his life, or at least the love of this season.
Mona Scott Young has been accused of a lot of cover-ups lately. According to a new report, Mona is so desperate to protect the Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta brand she is lying about her stars to keep them on the show!
It was Mona who posted the $25k bail for her prized Stevie. It seems Stevie's true financial status has been in question for some time. In April, Mona, along with several producers and music industry execs and insiders who do business with Stevie, were subpoenaed by Project Child Support (a non-profit which aids custodial parents in seeking funds owed for child support), to determine his true "income and revenue sources."
