I honestly find the crew from this season's Love & Hip Hop more and more amusing as the season continues. It's not because the show is getting more ridiculous (although it is), but it's because the cast is speaking out about said ridiculousness. The more they try to explain it, the more hilarious the situation becomes.
First, Peter Gunz announced that he didn't like the way he came across as he played Tara Wallace and Amina Buddafly against one another. He's tired of living a double life, y'all! Next, Tara felt the need to "clarify" her reasons for sleeping with Peter after she found out he'd married Amina behind her back, thus causing her to stock up on Plan B. Now, Amina is adding her two cents, and it just keeps getting better! Did you know she'd never seen the show before agreeing to be on it?
Spin that Statement 101 must be a required course at the Community College of Ratchet Reality because the folks on Love & Hip Hop are making the grade! Viewers seem to be repulsed by Peter Gunz for hopping between two women, but they are also a tad weirded out that the women seem to put up with his horrifically disrespectful behavior! Tara Wallace kicked Peter out of their shared apartment when she learned that he'd married (yes, married!) Amina Buddafly behind her back, yet she still fell into bed with Peter.
When Amina learned of her alleged husband's infidelity (how could she even be remotely surprised?), she doubted that he would cheat. Upon hearing this news, Tara seemed almost proud that she'd gotten back at the woman who ruined her family by announcing that not only was she still sleeping with Peter, but she'd taken Plan B a few times in as many months. You know, to each their own, but it gives me the heebie jeebies to think of having unprotected sex with someone you know full well is doing the same with other partners.
I guess we can agree to disagree because Tara doesn't see that as the case. In a recent interview, Tara defends her actions while admitting that she's no longer dumb enough to keep sleeping with Peter. Well, at least there's that!
Ratings wise, Real Housewives of Atlanta was Sunday's top cable telecast, with 3.777 million fans tuning in for the ongoing drama surrounding Kandi and Todd. That's a new season high for the ladies of Atlanta. Congrats!
Bravo tortured us with two (too many) episodes of Shahs of Sunset this week. An impressive 1.977 million tuned in on Sunday, thanks to RHOA's lead-in, but only 1.2 million came back for more drunken shenanigans on Tuesday.
So last night's Love & Hip Hop was one giant mess, was it not? Peter Gunz keeps getting worse and worse, and the women in his life have got to be the best actresses on the planet because there is no way that they are that stupid. Throw in K. Michelle's attitude, and my head is reeling. You know it's bad when Rich Dollaz and Erica Mena are the sanest folks on the episode!
Saigon invites Erica Jean to the studio to apologize for screaming at her, throwing her pocketbook, lunging at her, calling her every name under the book, and accusing her of stunting their son's development. No biggie. He explains that his father was always so ugly to his mother and it made him hate his dad. He doesn't want his son to see him treating Erica in the same manner. Erica is thrilled that Saigon has seen the light, and he actually rationally and calmly inquires as to whether she'd be alright if they both took their son to see a speech therapist. He knows his son is fine (he's clearly been doing some more googling!), but it can't hurt to see a specialist. Just think of the drama they could have avoided had he done it that way the first time!
Poor Rich Dollaz. He doesn't have a story line on this seasons Love & Hip Hop that even comes close to comparing to that of his best friend Peter Gunz. He's spent most of the season making hilarious facial expressions as Peter's women fight around him and pining after Erica Mena.
Now Rich is speaking out about all of the drama and his record label that seems to be at the center of it all. Not surprisingly, he shares that he and Erica are still in love (so, I guess that lesbian thing didn't work out?), and he dishes on why former bestie Olivia Longott may have made a mistake by leaving the reality show.
Apparently, its only on Bravo when stars get turned down for televised weddings (sorry Gretchen Rossi!), but on any other network the acquaintances of barely featured reality stars can have their walk down the aisle shoved down the viewers' throats. Well, technically I guess we don't have to watch…but we all know I can't pass up train wreck television!
Last week K. Michelle was in Washington DC to perform a concert.
The Love & Hip Hop star did a concert in Silver Spring, MD and was expected to perform at an after party at the Howard Theater with a local go-go band. Unfortunately it seems there was a miscommunication of sorts with K. denying that she was ever hired to perform at the second venue!
Promoters advertised that K. would be present for a "mini-concert", but Ms. Michelle assumed she was only making an appearance and denied any sort of promised concert!
