Sheree Whitfield Talks About CastMates, Clothing Line and More

The Real Housewives of Atlanta star, Sheree Whitfield is starting afresh following her divorce. She recently debuted her clothing line, She By Sheree at the New York Fashion week.

In a recent interview with Essence, Sheree reveals her plans to relocate, talks about her fashion line, and whether she’d be back for the third season.

Below are excerpts from Sheree’s new interview:

ESSENCE.COM: Congrats on your first fashion show in New York. What did you take away from the experience?
SHEREE WHITFIELD: It was amazing. It was my way to test my line in the New York market, the world’s fashion capital. I got a lot of positive feedback and support from the fashion industry. You really have to be hands on. I feel like I need to move to New York to really be there. I tried here in Atlanta and it really did not work and it went well in New York, but I had to go back and forth a lot. I love it in New York and would love to live there and still keep a place in Atlanta when I want to slow down.

ESSENCE.COM: Back in Atlanta you had a little help from Dwight with your other show.
SHEREE WHITFIELD: Working with Dwight was okay, but it came off like he did a lot more than he did. He came in on the last week and had some great ideas, but I also had some people in from New York working on it already. We pulled it off and it was awesome. I saw what he was saying in the confessional and was like, “Wow, you didn’t do this by yourself, honey.”

ESSENCE.COM: During your appearance on “Ellen,” you and Kim went at it. Any chance you’ll mend your friendship?
SHEREE WHITFIELD: That piece of trash! Kim loves attention. TV made me and Kim’s relationship seem different than it was. She and I were never friends. I don’t believe in messing with married men. If she can do that to someone else, she’s no one that I would ever really hang out with. She’s on TV and doesn’t feel bad messing with a married man. How dumb can you be? Those vows are sacred.

Bravo Housewives Get Syndicated, Housewives Allegedly Not Getting Paid

The Real Housewives franchise has been a major hit for the Bravo network, as NBC Universal announced this week that it will begin airing the “Real Housewives” series five days a week in syndication beginning fall 2010.

Reruns of the series is expected to air weekdays on on NBC-owned stations. This is good news for Bravo, but no so much for the housewives as there have been several reports claiming the ladies will not be receiving a dime from the syndication profits.

The reason being because the ladies are on a reality show, and are not considered actors or SAG members. Therefore, they are not entitled to syndication checks. They only get paid while taping. The Atlanta housewives allegedly got paid $100,000 each for their 2nd season.

As expected, the ladies are not happy with this news and some allegedly would like to sue. Nene One of the ladies from the Atlanta franchise gave the following quote to Atlanta blogger FreddyO -

“This is some bull shit, we’ve been fighting their as* for the longest to keep the show from going to syndication without us making a dime … Damn, we not getting a dime and they making all the money… WOW … They can play the show forever and we will never get a check that aint right”

Something about this seems rather unfair, but then again the ladies signed the contracts.

Blood Disorder May Have Contributed to Atlanta Housewives AJ Jewel’s Death

Preliminary autopsy results of the Real Housewives of Atlanta’s Ashley “A.J.” Jewell are in, and it includes a surprise finding.

E! News is reporting that Dr. Kelly Rose of the Fulton County Medical Examiner’s believes Kandi Burruss‘ ex-fiancé may have suffered from the sickle-cell anemia blood disorder, which may have contributed to his death during a fight outside an Atlanta strip club.

“Preliminary results are suggestive of [sickle-cell],” said Rose. AJ sustained a severe blow to the head in the Oct. 2 brawl that took his life at the Body Tap Club. He was allegedly a co-owner of the strip club.

The sickle-cell anemia disorder affects red blood cells, and may have restricted AJ’s body’s oxygen supply and exacerbated his injuries. Rose believes “The altercation played a role in that [his death], and his underlying disease process contributed to his overall demise.”

A final report that will state his official cause of death is expected in the near future. Frederick Richardson, a club employee, was charged with voluntary manslaughter and is currently being held in an Atlanta jail without bond.

AJ Jewel, the former fiance of Kandi Burruss from the Real Housewives of Atlanta was buried last Friday.

Gathered to say their final goodbyes were his family and friends, as well as the Altanta housewives. Blogger and photographer FreddyO was invitied to the funeral, and shared some photos of the event.

AJ is described as being as a “loving Man, Brother, Father, and man of God” who was often misunderstood by the media.

Sheree Whitfield Leaving The Real Housewives of Atlanta?

According to the Rumor mill, Sheree Whitfield might be the latest housewife to get the DeShawn Snow treatment boot from the Real Housewives of Atlanta.

A new report has sources close to the series revealing that Sheree might be getting the boot because she has become too boring and drama free. Really? Even more boring than Lisa Wu Hartwell?

According to the source, one of the housewives has to go to make room for new blood next season. Kandi Burruss was allegedly going to be the booted housewife until she surprised the producers by becoming the series favorite, which isn’t seating too well with former favorite Nene Leakes.

The source also claims Sheree is biting the hand that feeds her by refusing to stir up drama on the show this season because she wants to be taken seriously as a fashion designer. Umm didn’t Sheree stir up some major wig yanking drama early on?

Not sure how accurate this story is. I suspect Lisa will be the housewife to go if they decide to get rid of someone. She’s been very boring to watch this season, and has been the most drama free which is a major no-no for being a Bravo housewife.

Real Housewives of Atlanta’s Lisa Wu Hartwell: “Kim Is Crazy”

The taping of the Real Housewives of Atlanta was postponed a week ago, Lisa Wu Hartwell however gives us a preview of what to expect in a new interview with the Associated Press.

Lisa gives her opinion of each of her fellow Atlanta housewives, during which she refers to Kim Zolciak as “Crazy with a capital C.”

When asked about her thoughts on Sheree Whitfield, Lisa uses the words “High maintenance, motivated, and not genuine,” to describe her. She goes to to refer to Kandi as being “cool, down to earth, and talented.”

When asked if Nene Leakes was genuine, Lisa says — “I guess to some people, yes.” Interesting answer from Lisa.

Lisa wraps up her interview by predicting the reunion show will be crazy. “This reunion is going to be crazy. I can’t wait to see the numbers. I want to know how many people,” says Lisa. “I know it’s going to supersede everyone’s expectations. I do.”

The two-part reunion is still set to air on October 29 and November 5.

Lee Najjar aka Big Poppa’s Home Listed Up For Sale For $25 Mil

Access Atlanta is reporting that Lee Najjar aka Big Poppa is putting his Atlanta home up for sale for the staggering amount of $25 Million.

The married on/off boyfriend of Kim Zolciak of the Real Housewives of Atlanta has enlisted the help of a real estate agent to help sell his mansion.

Kim Zolciak, who received a massive “engagement” rock from her married beau earlier this year, has said in previous weeks that she is no longer with Big Poppa. Even stating in a recent interview, that she has a new boyfriend. No word yet on whether or not this new boyfriend is married as well.

Lee has appeared on MTV Teen Cribs within the past year showing off his Atlanta mansion. The MTV episode featured his kids and wife, Kim Najjar aka Mrs. Big Poppa.

Perhaps the sale of his home might indicate a separation from his wife. One can only hope the constant and very public humiliation of having your husband shower his mistress with an engagement ring & expensive gifts on national television has been the last straw for Kim Najjar.

However, there is no official word on the couple’s marital status.

Kandi Burruss Releases Another Hit Song!

The Real Housewives of Atlanta’s Kandi Burruss is not only a talented song writer but also your favorite Atlanta housewife, according to our “Reality Tea” poll.

For those of you that don’t know, Kandi is a Grammy award-winning songwriter who has written several hit songs for popular acts such as TLC and Nsync. Recently, she also helped rewrite and executive produced Kim Zolciak’s new hit – “Tardy For The Party.”

Kandi recently released her new single, “I Fly Above” on iTunes and Amazon. It seems like this is another hit song from our beloved Kandi.
