Kandi Burruss was in the Bravo clubhouse tonight to chat up Andy and answer questions from viewers about tonight's episode ofKandi's Wedding. They talk strippers, prenups, unruly mothers and the possibility of babies.
They dive right in and get to the subject of the clause in the prenup that says Todd Tucker gets nothing in the event of Kandi's death. "Well there were a couple of extra things in there. Maybe one or two. But I removed that. My thing was, overall, there was nothing major that we couldn't just change – like the one or two things that he said was a real problem. The only things his lawyer kept saying were things that were financial. And I'm like 'you and I already discussed this. We were supposed to be on the same page.' What is he talking about?"
Did anything she saw at Todd's bachelor party upset her? "No. Stuff like that doesn't bother me. I know some women have a problem with the stripper thing, but we're in Atlanta, that's normal."
Realizing the popularity of reunions to squeeze out any last-minute drama, Bravo has started giving them to more and more shows. However one show airing this summer will NOT be participating!
Due to all the drama with her mama, Kandi Burruss has told network execs that a Kandi's Wedding reunion is not happening. With Mama Joyce still hating on Todd Tuckerand slamming him in the media, Kandi and Todd have both called their wedding spinoff incredibly stressful. Todd was so disheartened by everything happening at the time he was ready to quit the whole thing.
The backstory in case you are new to the reality world. Porsha and Kenya have have never been friends. In fact, in the two seasons that they have shared the screen, I have hardly even seen them act friendly.
Everything came to a head at the reunion, with Kenya Moore egging Porsha on, until Porsha snapped and took down Kenya while cameras were still rolling.
Last night on Kandi's Wedding it was all out mommy wars! Interestingly, it seems no one in Kandi Burruss' life likes each other. Her Matron of Honor, Tan, and her Maid of Honor, Carmon cannot stand each other, Mama Joyce hates everyone and her new target is Todd Tucker's mother Sharon.
Since everything in Kandi's life is topsy-turvy and it's clear she doesn't use her words to communicate with people, she and Todd visit their pastor for some pre-marital counseling. Todd seems to be taking it seriously, but Kandi initially starts out joking around. Eventually the subject of Joyce comes up and the pastor instructs the couple not to let negative influences destroy their happiness. "Communicate before you disintegrate!"
As Kandi continues to plan her wedding, Carmon and Tan meet with her to test cakes. With all the testiness in the room, Kandi could have been tasting ice cream cake. She ignores it by scarfing down alllll the cake samples and practically licking the plate. I think we call that emotional eating. Basically Carmon thinks Tan is an uptight square who is no fun and Tan thinks Carmon is a flaky boozehound. In the battle of Carmon vs. Tan, I'm team Carmon because who doesn't like fun?
Kandi says since the wedding her relationship with her father has "somewhat" improved – but she blames herself for the distance. "He does try to reach out more. I am the one who needs to do better. I guess I am so used to the way our relationship always has been, so now I don't think to call that often. This is something that I have to work on."
Kandi Burruss tied the knot in April, but it was not without major (and I mean Mama Joyce) drama. Despite the uphill battle the couple faced, Kandi and Todd Tucker are happy, in love, supportive of each other, and eager to grow both their brands and their union.
Speaking to Ebony, Kandi shares her keys to a fulfilling marriage and gives her tips for making it in business. Since their wedding Kandi reveals that she and Todd have been spending most of their time apart due to work commitments.
"I guess we still don’t feel married yet. We went from seeing each other and being together every day to a long-distance relationship—because he’s in L.A. producing his show, Hollywood Divas, for TV One, so we see each other on the weekends. Sometimes we don’t even get to do that."
Kandi adds, "We make it work through a lot of communication, and we try to see each other as often as possible."
