Sure, I “liked” Kristen Taekman when she was a Real Housewives of New York cast member, but if I’m keeping it real she added nothing to that show. That’s not necessarily an insult since most of the people who make good reality characters aren’t people you would actually want to spend time with in real life since they have an affinity for shit stirring. Nevertheless, I really did want her to stay on the show after her husband Josh Taekaman’s membership on Ashley Madison (a dating service for people who are married) became public. Unfortunately for me (and fortunately for Kristen) that did not happen and now the former RHONYstar thinks she’s a relationship role model.
Wait. What? I don’t know what qualifies her (or anyone else) to be a relationship role model, let alone declare that. I do think it was good how she kept things private after the hack for the sake of her family, but I have no idea if she was really “keeping her private life private,” or if people just didn’t care since she wasn’t on reality TV anymore. But anyway, Kristen is opening up about it now.
Reality Tea is ranking ALL the Housewives from every season and every city! Our list is broken down into three parts with Housewives ranked from worst to ‘best’ (or best of the worst, if you will). Below is Part 1.
What makes a superior species of Housewives? Is it class? Money? Fabulous plastic surgery and good shoes? Beautiful home? A revolving door of crazy that keeps us on our cheaply-clad toes? Is it a supportive husband? An in-home zoo of fabulous miniature fluff balls clad in their own designer wardrobe? Is it a witty zinger or indispensable advice? Is it their ability to rewrite history without irony? To crack open the egg of their emotional travails in front of cameras? Or is it their ability to deftly control the scenery while cracking a Chanel whip?
Andy Cohen is playing another round of “Ask Andy.” This time the questions centered around Real Housewives reunions, and Luann de Lesseps‘ upcoming New Year’s Eve wedding to the always controversial Tom D’Agostino!
Andy will not be attending the Real Housewives Of New York star’s nuptials, but he smirks that he sees “nothing but happiness” in Luann and Tom’s future.
The best friendship between Bethenny Frankel and Carole Radziwill came out of nowhere and now I feel like it’s omnipresent. The clinginess loyalty has been a source of annoyance for most of the Real Housewives of New York cast members over the past couple seasons, but the two of them don’t seem to care. In fact, Bethenny prioritizes their BFF status over being on the show.
Damn. That’s a lot to say. Sure, Bethenny is a great businesswoman and all that, but the show really ups her profile and keeps her products visible. And to be honest, Carole has not been a major part of the show for a while. She has had basically no story line other than her pets, so I wouldn’t be shocked if she got the boot at some point in the near future. I wonder what Bethenny would do if Carole left RHONY. I mean Carole really doesn’t seem at all amused hanging out with these women.
Unless you’re someone who follows the ups and downs of the New York City social scene, you probably have no idea who Tinsley Mortimer is. If that’s the case, then you’re about to since Tinsley reportedly joined the cast of Real Housewives of New York. Whether you are familiar with her or not, apparently Tinsley wants the reality show to help her rehabilitate her image. And on the opposite end of things, instead of using the show to make her look better, Dorinda Medley is capitalizing on the show’s platform to do better.
Well, yes, I’m sure you can argue that there is a certain amount of good PR that comes with most charity contributions, so I guess Dorinda’s latest move is up for interpretation, but you can decide for yourself. Either way, both Dorinda and the new girl are pushing for a positive association with their names and reality TV.
Unlike some of the other hoity toity ladies in the Real Housewives of New York clique, Dorinda Medley is not afraid to pop off. I mean, we all remember her “I made it nice” rant during the trip to her Berkshires house last season. If Dorinda is displeased, she has no qualms letting everyone know. And this time she threatened to really hit them where it hurts: the open bar.
The Real Housewives seem to be always doing one of two things: drinking all the time or talking about one of their cast members for drinking all the time. So if Dorinda (someone that we all know loves a good turn up here and there) threatens to shut down the open bar at a charity event, you know the situation is serious.
Apparently that’s the case. Well, I have no idea if Luann’s repetitive mention of her wedding is actually what influenced Dorinda’s interest in marrying John, but I think I would want to get married after hearing someone talk about it all the time, too, and I am beyond single at the moment. So, what did Dorinda have to say about the possibility of marriage?
For the most part, Bethenny Frankel has been an open book ever since she joined the Real Housewives of New York cast. Although most of that publicity helped elevate her brand and has made her a shit ton of money, that doesn’t mean her life is perfect. In fact, we’ve all seen Bethenny‘s many highs and lows when it comes to dating.
Bethenny had no qualms about putting her relationship and marriage with Jason Hoppy on reality television, but now she has a different approach when it comes to her post-divorce dating. She is trying to be more private these days and she wants to emphasize to all of her fans that being in a relationship does not complete a person.
