Abby Lee Miller, the star of Lifetime's Dance Moms, has become famous for her aggressive — I say mean, controlling and detrimental to children — style of teaching dance. And Maks has always been the bad boy of DWTS. So when she has some harsh words for front-runners Maks and Meryl Davis, Maks immediately shot back, telling Erin Andrews, ""I really don't care for anything she has to say."
Was anyone surprised that was his response? Really?
But, we still got to see NeNe and Tony's Argentine Tango, as well as their team dance. Team Vida consisted of Charlie & Sharna, James & Peta, and NeNe & Tony. Tony asked NeNe how she felt about making it to week seven, and she said, "I feel like everybody left is Olympians and people with dance experience, and we're just like the little odd balls." We?!? NeNe is odd. The only "odd" thing about Tony is that he likes NeNe.
NeNe's Argentine Tango was horrible. Her costume was worse. It looked like she wore a plastic brown trash bag – and it made her hips and butt look huge. Team Vida hid NeNe in the audience during the group dance. Enough said.
We are halfway through Season 18 of Dancing with the Stars – and NeNe Leakes is still in the competition. Last week, the Incredible Hulk NeNe busted out of all that spandex and sequins and treatedTony Dovolanilike, well, how she treats other humans – beneath her. NeNe is safe, though, so woohoo for rewarding bad behavior. Or something.
Tony and NeNe take on Salsa this week. NeNe, looking more linebacker than normal, starts in the audience and shimmies up on Gregg on her way to the dance floor. I don't care for the choreography – it's more club than salsa – and NeNe's lemons need wayyyy more support. The highlight? Tony loses his shirt midway through the dance.
"Oooh, hunni here we go! This week we're doing a salsa. It's Party Anthem, so we're doing Nelly's "It's Getting Hot in Here," and you better believe it, we love Nelly," shared NeNe. "Oh and we are shaking it, hunni! I'm sweating, I'm telling you. I've almost got an afro, my hair has curled completely up!"
Cody Simpson does not seem to be taking his exit from Dancing With the Stars too hard. He didn't skip a beat after leaving the hit ABC reality show. Instead of laying low and nursing his wounds, he released a brand new music video to his song, Surfboard, which he and partner Witney Carson performed to on the March 31 episode.
Thanks to the Switch Up – NeNe Leakes wants to school pro Tony Dovolani on how Dancing with the Stars works. She insists it is all about her character. Tony says, "You have to understand that you're going from a dance that has no rules (jazz) to a dance that has a lot of rules (foxtrot)." NeNe responds, "Me becoming a character is a strong point of mine –Derek Hough had the ability to do that because of the dance." Tony adds, "Yeah, a dance with no rules."
NeNe obnoxiously carries on when Tony gives her direction. Tony jokes, "Such a good student – don't listen to anything I say." NeNe huffs, "Listen Tony, don't act like I'm not a good student. I'm <finger snap> an excellent student. Okay?!"
Tony encourages NeNe to try the move one more time, and she snaps, "I don't feel like it anymore. Goodbye. You're gonna have to come with a better attitude tomorrow. I am dead a$$ serious right now because you have a damn attitude today and that sh-t ain't gonna work. If you want to go back to Candace Bure, you should call production so you can go back to Candace so you can be happy. I've only give you the best that I got every day I've ever come here and danced with you. I don't deserve an attitude. Here's your mic, think about it."
I will admit that I voted forNeNe and Derekfor the switch up. I wanted to see a traditional "two-hand hold" ballroom dance between the two; alas, that is not what happened. The picture above – SMH – is what happened. NeNe took to her DWTS blog to tell us what she really thought about Derek, the dance, and her horrid costume.
First, NeNe gushed (and gushed some more) about Derek. "Oooh, hunni I had so much fun in last week's Switch Up! Derek is awesome, he's young, he's creative, he's an amazing choreographer. It was just fun to switch it up and see what another dancer could do and what their creativity was like."
