Real Housewives of New York

Bethenny Frankel divorce

I am ecstatic that Real Housewives of New York is back. Thankfully a new season means the cast members are doing lots of promotional interviews and sharing some interesting info, and we all know how much the RHONY ladies love to chat, especially Bethenny Frankel.

Bethenny has an opinion on pretty much everything and she always has a lot to say. And yes, this still includes discussing her divorce from Jason Hoppy.

The first episode of this Real Housewives of New York season was just alright, but I feel like this season is going to be amazing. At the very least, I know that Watch What Happens Live will be on point every Wednesday night. Not only was Bethenny Frankel there tonight, but Jeff Lewis was present to gossip as well.

The energy was high with Andy Cohen, Bethenny, and Jeff in the same room… shade was thrown, insults were hurled, and gossip was revealed. Oh and of course they talked about Luann de Lesseps and her marriage to Tom D’Agostino. Multiple times.

Real Housewives of New York season premiere

YES!!! The ladies of The Real Housewives Of New York are back and ready to play hardball! Last night’s season premiere set the stage for story lines that will tie the season together – or, more likely, cause everyone to unravel.

Ramona Singer simply can’t allow Luann de Lesseps to marry fiance Tom D’Agostino without creeping her out with strange champagne toasts (and playing Nancy Drew behind her back), while Dorinda Medley can’t let go of the petty nonsense that came to a head with Sonja Morgan at last season’s reunion. Meanwhile, Bethenny Frankel is busy starting a new chapter of her life, which includes unloading the apartment she once shared with ex-husband Jason Hoppy. And Carole Radziwill, obsessing about the 2016 Presidential election to a degree that even exhausts Bethenny, shows us what it looks like to “shack up” with a boyfriend. Hint: It apparently includes adopting pets, reupholstering your couch, and forcing your boyfriend to get a makeover.

NEW YORK, NY - APRIL 05: Sonja Morgan attends

Tonight Sonja Morgan and her co-stars attended The Real Housewives Of New York premiere party to celebrate season 9 at The Attic Rooftop Lounge. She was joined by Dorinda Medley, Andy Cohen, Luann D’Agostino, Tinsley Mortimer and more!

Jeff Lewis even stopped by the party before he rushed over for his appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Bethenny Frankel. Jeff mentioned some drama involving alcohol, but he glossed over it and didn’t spill much tea.

The Real Housewives of New York City - Season 9

Happy Wednesday! Are you as excited as we are that The Real Housewives of New York season 9 premieres tonight?

We saw that crazy promo trailer and now Ramona Singer is promising viewers another insane season of fun and fighting. She told Entertainment Tonight, “It’s crazier than hell. I don’t know what it is with us. I mean, you can’t script this stuff. We get nuts with each other. Then we make up. Then we get nuts.”

Luann and Tom

Hell hath no fury like a Housewife divorced? Last season Bethenny Frankel tearfully exposed Luann de Lesseps‘ fiancé of one minute of cheating, but Luann scoffs that was just Bethenny “projecting her own failed marriage” onto Luann’s perfect, amazing, super blissful, fabulous, happiness! Don’t F–K with A Lu In Love, y’all!

So, like, Luann is projecting her self-described perfect happiness onto Bethenny’s scorn, to cover-up that maybe Tom D’Agostino Jr. is actually a cheater, while Bethenny is simultaneously projecting her belief that marriages fail onto Luann’s insistence that marriages work. Does that make sense to anyone? No – it doesn’t, but I need a side-job writing Housewives-related questions for the SAT Test.

Anyway, of last season’s Real Housewives Of New York Berkshire explosion/Miami cheating-gate, Luann says, “Poor Bethenny… You know what, I felt bad for her because she was crying so hard for herself, really. [The tears] it’s not really meant for me – I think it’s issues she’s having herself.”

Kelly Bensimon return to RHONY?

I don’t know why Kelly Bensimon would ever return to Real Housewives of New York, but I would be pumped if she did. Sure, it wasn’t the best look for her, but she really made good TV. I will never in my life forget her weird rant about Al Sharpton and jelly beans while she was arguing with Bethenny Frankel on Scary Island.

Bethenny made a return to RHONY and even Jill Zarin will appear next season, so why not bring back Kelly? Well, apparently this is a possibility.

NEW YORK, NY - MARCH 23: Journalist Carole Radziwill attends the opening night of

We’ve managed to steer clear of political talk here on Reality Tea, wanting to keep the site as a refuge for those seeking an escape from the stress of all things politics – no matter what your views. We’re a fansite for reality television fans and even though a reality star was running for office, we wanted to keep this place as a space for dishing on the ridiculousness and fun of reality shows. That said, it seems the upcoming season of Real Housewives of New York is going to force us to acknowledge the election on some level since it is going to be a large part of Carole Radziwill‘s storyline this season.

We weighed our options on how to handle this as we prepare for the premiere of RHONY this week. We even considered NOT covering the show at all this season because if you’ve ventured off and read comments on any political articles, you know full well what a shitshow it is. And we do not want that here. If you thought the heyday of Teresa Giudice VS. Melissa Gorga was a stressful mess of hate when it came to the comments, that was a civilized tea party compared to what we’ve seen when it comes to political discussions online. We even considered recapping the shows but eliminating any of Carole’s political scenes or turning off the comments, but that would be a tricky task and not very authentic and not what we want to do.
