In a statement released, via the OC Register, Simon, 46, denies any wrong doing and cites his refusal to allow his children to film for the 6th season of the Real Housewives of Orange County, as the sole reason Tamra decided to call the cops on him. Simon also alleges Tamra is now trying to get sole custody of their three children together.
Simon’s statement is below -
“There are a lot of rumors and speculation about the events of September 20th. I am confident and have faith that the truth will come out in the courts instead of the media. This incident was a setup by my ex-wife and she is already using it to make a claim for 100% custody of our children. It stems primarily from me refusing permission for our children to be filmed on her reality show, ‘Real Housewives of Orange County.’
Recently my ex-wife and the production company have pressured me to allow the children to be filmed. I have always refused because I don’t believe it is in our children’s best interest to be exploited in this way. This has not set well with my ex-wife. If she succeeds in obtaining 100% custody, she will then be able to give permission for the children to be filmed even though I object.
I have never been a danger to either my ex-wife or our children, as she has recently claimed. As so many people know, I love our children more than anything in the world. To me, it is tragic that any parent would go to such extreme measures as using custody to allow their children to be filmed on a reality program. I pray for my ex wife and our children all the time.”
According to the OC Register, Simon answered “No” when asked if he threw a plastic dog leash at Tamra. As we reported yesterday, Tamra is already working to get a restraining order against Simon.
“Apparently Simon went to his ex-wife’s home to return the dog he was watching,” Orange County Sheriff’s spokesman Jim Amorminotells PEOPLE. “According to the victim, he threw a retractable dog leash at her, she lifted her arm in a defensive move, and it struck her wrist.”
Radar is also reporting this morning that Tamra is planning to get a restraining order against Simon.
According to Radar, Tamra showed up to the courthouse Tuesday afternoon, alongside boyfriend Eddie Judgeand Bravo cameras, to inquire about filing a restraining order against Simon.
When asked to give a comment regarding the domestic dispute, Tamra said “I can’t talk about it right now, maybe later.” Tamra however nodded yes when asked is she planned of filing a restraining order.
In addition to Tamra’s court appearance, a “source” tells RadarOnline she plans of filing the restraining order sometime this week. Judging by the fact that Bravo cameras followed Tamra to the courthouse, it’s safe to assume we will be watching this drama unfold on the 6th season of the Real Housewives of OC.
As for what led to the violent altercation, Radar reveals the argument had to do with Tamra planning a birthday party for one of their kids at her house. Despite inviting Simon to the party, he apparently felt she should have chosen a more neutral location.
The altercation took place Monday night as Simon was returning their small dog back to Tamra’s house (the two share custody of the dog). A source tells Radar that Simon “was angry and threw the leash at her and hit her with it.” The source adds that “their kids were in the house and started crying. It was a bad scene.”
Tamra, who has been dating Eddie Judgefor months now, felt that Simon went too far. “The leash hit Tamra. She wasn’t sure what to do,” says the source. “But she knew she couldn’t tolerate the violence. She called the cops.”
Simon is scheduled to be arraigned today. He is expected to enter a plea to the charge. TMZ is also reporting that Simon is still in police custody. His mugshot is below. The sixth season of the Real Housewives of OC is currently filming, though Simon will no longer be a part of the show.
TELL US – ARE YOU SHOCKED BY THIS NEWS OF SIMON’S ARREST?
Perhaps. The OC Register is breaking the news today that OC star Alexis Bellino and husband Jim Bellino defaulted on a $4.6 million loan for their home in Newport Beach.
The OC Register obtained court documents which shows the Bellinos failed to pay $83,856.92 on their home loan as of April 26 this year. It gets even worse as the documents show the Bellinos faced the threat of foreclosure and having their home sold at public auction to the highest bidder.
Just how close were the Bellinos to losing their home? Let’s just say their home was scheduled to be auctioned off on Wednesday, Aug. 25.
The auction however never took place as the Bellinos were able to obtain a last minute loan modification on their home, and never had to move out.
“Chase Bank has been great to work with on my modification,” Jim Bellino told the OCRegister on Friday. “The trustee sale has been canceled, and the modification has been agreed upon.”
The 5-bedroom, 5-bathroom, 4,200 square feet home was purchased on July 30, 2007. The original loan amount was $4.5 million but because the Bellinos missed all their mortgage payments since the beginning of this year, the debt with fees and penalties added increased to $4.62 million.
The OCRegister also reports the Bellinos have been trying to sell the home for a while now, taking it on and off the market since May 2008. Their home is reportedly now worth $3.89 million.
The 6th season of the Real Housewives of OC is currently filming and is scheduled to air in January 2011 on Bravo.
“Rumor has it that I will not be returning for “season 6″ That rumor is true! Further rumor has it we will be back somewhere else on our own show! Hmmmm! “Watch what happens” Life is so unpredictable! Enjoy!” wrote Lynne on her facebook page on Friday.
And as for Lynne getting her own reality show, there has been no news or rumblings about any show. Perhaps Lynne is simply trying to ‘secret’ one into existence.
In other OC news, it is still unclear whether or not former cast member Jeana Keough will be returning this season, as there are conflicting reportings. The OC Register did however report today that during an event out, Bravo cameras were filming both Jeana and Gretchen Rossi. Guess we will just have to wait and see if Jeana is indeed returning.
What is certain is that Jeana is a part of Bravo’s new show – “Thintervention with Jackie Warner,” set to premiere 10 p.m. September 6.
Jeana will be one of eight clients who participate in an intense “thintervention” with Jackie Warner, a well-known fitness trainer who had a previous show on Bravo called Work Out.
According to a press release by Bravo, Jackie will “kick butt and inspire drastic lifestyle changes for her overweight clients who are struggling to lose weight and get healthy for good,” according to the press release for “Thintervention.”
TELL US – ARE YOU SAD TO SEE LYNNE LEAVE THE SHOW? DO YOU WANT JEANA BACK ON?
UPDATE – Lynne posted the following on her facebook: “I am broken hearted! I was so let down the way this came about! We were the last to know! I guess Bravo has to do what they have to do! I thought we had a great relationship! I guess I was wrong! Its funny how fast offers came to us from other places! Thats how we found out we were not returning! Funny how life can be!
Thank you! We tried to be honest about our lives! I thought thats what reality tv is supposed to be! I would like our new show to be totally honest! No retakes or do overs. You will see it exactly the way it really happens! Someone thinks alot of people will tune in! That makes me feel better about things! Its important to keep a positive vibe in life no matter what is going on!”
Pictured above is Peggy Tanous and husband Micah Tanous on their wedding day. Radar is reporting the Alexis Bellino clone Peggy has joined the cast and has even began filming scenes with the other housewives.
Oddly enough, Peggy is said to be a friend of Alexis Bellinowith insiders describing her as being “truthful and blunt” and someone “who always tell it the way it is.”
Peggy’s husband, Micah, is described as being an internet entrepreneur. Peggy and Micah have two daughters together.
According to Radar, Peggy will be joining existing cast members Vicki Gunvalson, Gretchen Rossi, Tamra Barney and Alexis Bellino. Lynne Curtin’s name was left out of the list, could she be off the show? Only time will tell.
A report by Popeater today states that the Bravo Housewives are tired of being used by the network.
According to Popeater, “All the ladies have had enough of being used by Bravo and plan to start fighting back.” A source tells the site, “They are pissed that they only get paid $3,000 to tape each episode and are furious that they get paid nothing to tape the reunion episode. It’s two full days of their lives with no lunch breaks and no pay. Everyone on the set is getting a paycheck except the stars. How can that be right?”
The $3,000 per episode fee was unveiled in Teresa Giudice’s bankruptcy documents. However, that amount only applies to the Real Housewives of the New Jersey. Negotiations are done separately for each franchise and the Real Housewives of Atlanta did receive $100,000 each for their second season, and will be reportedly receiving $150,000 each for their upcoming season 3. One of the Atlanta Housewives confirmed the salary to the Atlanta Constitution Journal a while back. No word yet on how much the other franchises are receiving.
And in case you follow any of the housewives on twitter, you probably noticed a lot of them took a trip to New York last week, while not revealing what they were going there for. Well Popeater is now revealing the executives at Bravo decided to have the housewives make an appearance on ‘The Fashion Show,” in other to boost the ratings.
“None of the housewives wanted to be on ‘The Fashion Show,’” an insider dishes. “However, the network insisted they film all week for hours and hours, and to add insult to injury, they got nothing in return. Not even a thank you.”
Popeater also reveals that the reason the Atlanta Housewives decided to dial down the drama during last year’s infamous boring reunion show was because of money. The ladies reportedly took a stand together, agreeing not to fight unless they got paid. This reportedly led to Bravo paying the NYC ladies for their reunion, thus leading the drama filled 3-hour reunion special.
The reunion of the NJ Housewives is also being taped today and tomorrow in Atlantic city according to Popeater. It’s safe to say the entire premise of the reunion will be all the ladies vs Danielle. Wonder if Kim G. will make a special appearance?
So are the Bravo Housewives getting screwed? Absolutely. The Housewives series continues to hit ratings highs as the popularity of the show continues to soar all thanks to the ladies who decided to put their heads into this toilet to put their lives (the good and bad) on national television.
To give you an example of this, the main stars of MTV’s The Hills‘ were earning over $500,000 per season, while the Atlanta Housewives only earned $100,000 per season last year. The ratings of both shows? About the same, plus there are less cast members, meaning less people to pay on the Atlanta Housewives. So yes, I do think the ladies deserve more money, but then again, something tells me these women would do the show for free, as they all seem to want to be famous at any cost, or no cost at all rather.
Also want to add that the guy that wrote this article has relationships with a number of the NJ Housewives, so the source for this story is likely one or more of the NJ ladies.
In other NJ news, it seems Danielle Staub continues to hit new lows, even after the release of the self-leaked sex tape that came out earlier this year.
The Crushable blog is reporting that Danielle encouraged some crazed fan of the show on twitter, after he made some disturbing remarks about Ashley Holmes.
Twitter user @PriinceEdwiin tweeted the following to Danielle: “ItsMyBDAYToday And I Want @_ashleyholmes 2 kill herself & videotape so I can sit back, relax, & share the popcorn w/ @DanielleStaub.”
Danielle then tweeted back: “HAPPY BIRTHDAY boo!!!! May Every wish come true!!”
And despite the public outcry, Danielle has yet to take down the status. The story even makes this week’s issue of Life&Style with a “source” close to Ashley’s mom Jacqueline Laurita telling the mag, “No matter what happened between Danielle and Ashley, Danielle is the adult,” says the insider. “She’s a mother. What if someone said something like that about her kids? How would she react then?”
TELL US: DO THE HOUSEWIVES DESERVE MORE MONEY FROM BRAVO? WHAT ARE YOUR THOUGHTS ON DANIELLE’S WORDS?
TMZ is reporting Josh was arrested yet again on Friday night on a warrant for a probation violation. Josh’s past arrests include an arrest in June 2008 (possession of heroin and ecstasy and intent to sell), July 2009 (possession of narcotics and drug paraphernalia), and April 2010 (battery on a spouse or significant other and false imprisonment, both misdemeanors).
Josh sits in jail without bail and is set to face a judge on Tuesday.
In other OC news, the all new 6th season has started filming a few days ago, and it is rumored Josh’s mother Lauri Waring might be returning. Bravo has however yet to officially announce the cast. There were also rumors a while back that Alexis Bellino would not return.
UPDATE: It seems Alexis will be appearing on the new season. She just posted this on her personal facebook page – “Filming starts today for season 6! San Diego here we come! I packed 12 suitcases for a family of 5 for 4 days…Do I have issues? lol.”
In other spoilt rich kid news, UsWeekly is reporting Alexis Neiers, star of the E!’s network Pretty Wild, has now been released from jail.
TMZ posted the above photo of Alexis was taken Friday night as she walked out a free woman, having serveda mere 30 days of her 180-day sentence, for her role in the Hollywood burglar bunch robberies.
The 19-year-old reality star however wants us to know she did a lot of “soul searching” during her brief stint in jail. She said in a statement Friday: “I’ve had time to reflect on my life and the choices that led me to this experience, left alone in my cell 23 hours a day and having everything stripped away but the bare essentials. I did a lot of soul searching. I feel very humbled and see my life in a way that I have come to be very grateful for.”
Alexis now faces three years of felony probation and must pay a yet to be determined amount of money in restitution.
