Last night’s Real Housewives Of Atlanta blew things up – pun intended! – from imploding relationships, to actual bomb threats, and in between, a political message.
Phaedra Parks is headed to the DNC, accompanied by Porsha Williams. Porsha explains that politics is in her blood because her grandfather was legendary civil rights leader Hosea Williams. Are we sure they’re related? I mean, Porsha thought the underground railroad was Atlanta’s mysterious subway which transported people to a safe-haven called The Mall Of America.
Bravo needs to start giving all of the players on their show a chance to blog their thoughts on the episodes, not just the full time cast members. Case in point: Matt Jordan. Since Matt doesn’t have a place to vent his frustrations about Real Housewives of Atlanta and the way he’s being portrayed on the show, he often is forced to take to Instagram to set things straight and share his feelings on all things Kenya Moore.
After last night’s episode Matt shared the photo above and wrote, “Hope you all enjoyed the show and the lies you were just fed.”
Last month after Phaedra announced that she had finalized her divorce from Apollo, there were rumors flying, alleging that she had never even filed for divorce, let alone “settled” it. And now TMZ reports that Apollo has filed papers to officially end the marriage.
Unfortunately, many Real Housewives of Atlanta fans weren’t stunned when Cynthia Baileyfiled for divorce from husband Peter Thomas. The writing had been on the wall for a long time. Nevertheless, it did seem like the couple was trying their best to work through their differences. Cynthia’s costar Kenya Moore opened up about the divorce and why she wasn’t as shocked as other people might have been.
I mean, they are good friends, so it make sense that Kenya would have more personal insight than the rest of us, but are they best friends? We all remember that debacle last year when Cynthia pulled a two-faced move when NeNe Leakes returned and said she and Kenya weren’t “best friends.” So, where do Kenya and Cynthia stand today? Did they get past all of that nonsense with the friendship titles from last year?
I never thought I would see Phaedra Parks and Kenya Moore getting along and having lunch together on Real Housewives of Atlanta – it’s a miracle. Nevertheless, I can’t help being a little surprised that Phaedra reached out to Kenya to help with her summer camp to benefit kids who are suffering because of the water crisis in Flint, Michigan.
It was nice to see these two putting their differences behind them to help out with a good cause, but it was tacky as hell when Kenya and Sheree Whitfield argued over their mansions (for what felt like the millionth time this season!) during a meeting that was supposed to focus on raising funds for the camp. Really though?! They couldn’t be cordial for one charitable meeting?! Shaking. My. Damn. Head. Yes, it made the episode entertaining, but the timing was absurd! As far as I saw, Phaedra didn’t get a word in during the back and forth battle, but I’m sure she has some thoughts about them stealing her shine when she was just trying to be philanthropic.
This season of Real Housewives of Atlanta only just started, but there is no shortage of drama. Every single woman in the cast is bringing their A-game. They all have a lot going on own their own and with each other – which means that they all have a lot of opinions about everyone’s business. So of course Sheree Whitfield has thoughts about Kandi Burruss’s baby daddy drama and Porsha Williams can’t help reacting to Sheree’s fight with Kenya Moore.
I love how much this cast is weaved into each other’s lives – this show makes sense instead of random scenes of people who have nothing to do with each other. Everyone on Real Housewives of Atlanta is looking out for themselves and spilling the tea about everyone else and I am absolutely living for it.
