Vicki Gunvalson is always bragging about her success in business and how much/how often she works, but none of her side businesses ever seem to work out for her. I figured she would be making tons of money putting her name on products with the Real Housewives franchise behind her, but that doesn’t seem to be the case. That has not stopped her though, since Vicki has a new line of home products in the works.
Before her last romantic relationship (I’m trying to prevent certain people from being relevant by not mentioning them), the OG of the OC Vicki Gunvalson was best known for bragging talking about her insurance business, how hard she works, and how she’s bringing in a lot of money. Aside from whooping it up, Vicki was all about her business when it came to conversation topics. Vicki has to be shocked and upset to find out one of her own employees stole thousands of dollars from her business.
Obviously, anyone would be upset about that, but someone who is so focused on her business and takes so much pride in her success has to feel especially hurt and vulnerable in response to this situation. “Poor Vicki” is not a phrase that I use pretty often, but you have to admit that there is always some sort of controversy going on with her. It’s no wonder why she’s the only original cast member remaining on The Real Housewives of Orange County: the drama never stops.
Judge me if you must but I have to keep it real when I admit that I’ve seen every single Real Housewives episode multiple times. With that said, I cannot help favoring some story lines over others – the Real Housewives story lines that got dragged out way longer than they ever should have.
Some of these plot lines were juicy at first, but just got beat to the ground. Then there are other things that happened that none of us cared about, yet they got dragged out for two or more seasons. Either way, there are plenty of story lines that did more than outstay their welcome.
Shannon will be joining Vicki, Tamra Judge, and the newly returning (and insanely boring) Lydia McLaughlin. I just want to know how I’m hearing about this decision before hearing a confirmation that Kelly Dodd will be back. Love her or hate her, we need Kelly back on this show.
We’ve been ranking all the Real Housewives from every season, every franchise and its finally down to the final few. The queens of Bravo, if you will. Click here for Part 1 and Part 2 of our ranking.
What separates a good Housewife from a great one? For me, it’s the longevity of their dramas. Will their actions or comments forever define a franchise as Teresa Giudice‘s table flip did for New Jersey, or NeNe Leakes‘ “Close your legs to married men, Wig!” on Atlanta? A great Housewife doesn’t necessarily have to be likable, but she does have to be memorable, and defining. When you think of a particular show which Housewife comes to mind.
Out of all the former Real Housewives of Orange County cast members, I never ever expected Lydia McLaughlin to make a return, but it is being reported that she is. She is one of the few former Housewives that hasn’t been fame whoring to stay relevant so I just never thought she would to return. Plus, she actually quit (instead of being fired) because it wasn’t the right fit for her. So it’s pretty shocking that she’s about to come back.
No offense to everyone else in the cast, but Lydia just always seemed like she was way too good of a person to be on this show. There is not a reason in the world to dislike Lydia, but I just felt like she was too nice to be on RHOC. She never really got into it with the other women and the only remotely scandalous thing about her was her pot-loving mom- whom we all loved.
