Real Housewives of DC

Just when you thought you had seen it all and heard it all with the Salahis, TMZ is now reporting that Tareq Salahi believes his wife Michaele Salahi was kidnapped yesterday in Virginia.

Tareq himself spoke to TMZ confirming the story and adding that he is upset with cops as he feels they are not taking his claims seriously. Can you blame them?

According to TMZ, the latest drama with the former Real Housewives of DC stars started yesterday morning after Tareq last saw Michelle at their VA home right before he left to go the winery. Tareq tells TMZ Michaele told him she was going to get her hair done, but never made the appointment and has been missing since.

Tareq claims he got a phone call from Michaele late last night from an unfamiliar Oregon cell phone number. She reportedly told him she was going to her mother’s house, located minutes away from their home. Tareq says he was however suspicious and called Michelle’s mom who told him she had yet to speak to Michelle and was unaware of her plans.

Tareq adds that he then decided to call the cops at this point. The cops however told Tareq that Michaele had called them to inform that she was OK and was simply dealing with some “family issues.”

That wasn’t good enough for Tareq who now believes Michaele was forced to make those phone calls by her abductor. Tareq also believes his wife is in real danger because the Salahis have received death threats in the past.

Tareq reveals he is considering going to other law enforcement for help because he feels his local police has yet to take proper action. A rep for his local police department tells TMZ they are not releasing any info about the situation at this time.

In a statement released to the public, Tareq states: “It is our belief as of last night, that Michaele Salahi may have been kidnapped or abducted and being held under duress and forced to tell persons, including authorities she is okay. We are asking the public to please be on the look out for her…The Salahi family can be reached at 540-635-9933.”

UPDATE – In a not so shocking and very expected update, it turns out Michaele was NOT kidnapped afterall! TMZ is now reporting Michaele actually ran off with Neal Schon, the lead guitarist for the band Journey. TMZ adds that Michaele (pictured below with Neal and hubby Tareq in 2010) has actually been dating the rock icon.

She even went to his show in Nashville last night and is currently with him in Memphis, where Journey is set to perform. A rep for Journey confirms the news stating: “Nobody kidnapped her and they are in Memphis together.” Neal is to the right of Michelle in the photo below.

Another day, another legal drama involving former Real Housewives of DC stars Tareq and Michaele Salahi.

This time around, it involves celebrity Montel Williams. TMZ is reporting Montel fired off a cease and desist letter to the Salahis for using his name to promote their winery without his permission!

While it was reported that the Salahis were auctioning off their winery yesterday, it turns out that auction is actually for their Oasis Vineyards company and not for their actual winery — the Oasis Winery. In fact, the gruesome twosome are planning a reopening on Sept 24 for the Oasis Winery.

And this is where Montel comes in. The Salahis listed Montel as one of their celebrity guests for the reopening party which was news to Montel.

His rep tells TMZ, “Montel doesn’t support the Salahis, doesn’t know them and did not give them permission to use his name.” The event organizers also falsely announced that Montel’s MS Foundation is involved with the event. Wowzers.

A cease and desist letter was fired off to the Salahis yesterday which demanded they stop using Montel’s name and foundation. Both his name and foundation have since been removed from the website.

And in usual Salahi fashion, they are claiming there was no wrong doing on their part, first telling TMZ they were not aware Montel’s name was even on the site.

Fast forward to today and the Salahis are now claiming they are not the ones behind the charitable event, you know, the one being held for the reopening of their Oasis Winery. Michaele claims, “The website Montel Williams is referring to is NOT a Salahi website. We don’t get involved with what customers of our winery do or who they invite.” Right.

Oddly enough, Tareq gave the Rumor Fix blog this statement about the event yesterday: “The Oasis Winery is in fact reopening on Sept 24 and it will be a very exclusive private party for our good friends in Politics to family/friends and long time supporters of the Salahis before & after the White House dinner party.”  But apparently the event is now one of their customers, and not theirs.

TELL US – DOES ANYTHING THE SALAHIS DO SURPRISE YOU ANYMORE?

The gig is up for former Real Housewives of DC stars Tareq and Michaele Salahi, well at least when it comes to their winery.

According to a new report by RadarOnline, the couple’s once lucrative Virginia Oasis Winery is now scheduled to be auctioned off due to bankruptcy.

An online Virginia auction calendar has the Salahi’s winery, Oasis Vineyards, listed for auction on September 18 by order of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court.

Assets to be liquidated will include items such as: 60+ Oak Barrels, DeFraneschi Grape Press, Ice Machine, Dish Washer, approximately 5,000 bottles of Sparkling Wine, 100 cases of Cabernet, amongst other items.

And just a month ago, the Salahis were sued for fraud by a woman who claimed she was defrauded out of the money she paid to tour Virginia’s Wine Country.

In the meantime, TMZ reported last week that the Salahis have taken their famewhoring ways to Beverly Hills by moving there. Can they afford to live there? It gets even better as the Salahis reportedly had their manager contact Bravo to see about getting them on the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. But fret not, as they were flat out rejected by Bravo! Andy Cohen is said to have replied, “We are not interested.”

Michaele, who might or might not have TMZ on speed dial, also told the site that at age 45, she is now trying to have a baby with husband Tareq.

She revealed the plan is to go with a surrogate because she suffers from “multiple sclerosis.” She apparently feels that her “condition” combined with her age is not safe for a baby. Where’s the Captain Obvious cap when you need it?

In today’s news, the Salahis continue to be awful the Salahis.

According to a new report by RadarOnline, the Real Housewives of DC alums are being sued for alleged wine tour fraud as a woman is claiming she was defrauded out of the money she paid to tour Virginia’s Wine Country.

Emily McCallum, who is filing the suit, is one of the many people who have complained that Tareq and Michelle Salahi have been operating a wine tourism company and failing to deliver. The problem began when Emily, who earned her master’s degree this year, wanted to take a wine tour with her friends and family to celebrate.

“She scheduled it with a company owned by the Salahis and paid in full,” reveals a source close to Emily. “They never showed up and at the last minute, Emily had to get another company. She’s been unable to get her money back from them. I’m really glad she’s taking them to court.”

Radar confirms that Tareq is also listed as a director for the wine tour company. The case is scheduled to be heard today at the Loudoun County (VA) General District Court. We will update this post with any new developments.

UPDATE – The case against the Salahis has been continued until August 3 at Loudoun County (VA) General District Court because their lawyer David Silek is reportedly no longer representing them.

It seems Michaele Salahi, a self described former model, is not Playboy Magazine material after all.

See, the Real Housewives of DC star attempted to crash the pages of the mag by taking some nude pics for them, but according to TMZ, Michaele has officially been rejected by the Playboy higher ups.

Sources involved with the spread tell TMZ Michaele receved a rejection letter from Playboy very recently via email. “There is no opportunity this calendar year to offer you a cover opportunity or place for your pictorial,” said the email. Ouch!

Playboy then threw the 45-year-old Michaele a bone, informing her they would instead feature her on the website. “We had hoped an issue would be available to present you in the pages of the magazine first. However, that does not seem likely and we do not want to keep them from our readers any longer.”

The Playboy shoot for Michaele was first announced last September. And as we reported this week, Michaele’s husband Tareq Salahi recently took some test shots for Playgirl magazine. Bikini photos of Michaele below including one Playboy test shot!

Apologizes in advance as we bring you today’s news that’s guaranteed to induce vomiting.

According to TMZ, Tareq Salahi, star of the now canceled the Real Housewives of DC, is planning to take it all off for Playgirl magazine.

TMZ adds that while nothing has been signed yet, both Tareq and Playgirl are very interested in making a deal. Tareq is however adamant about not going full-frontal.

Sources from both camps reveal it’s practically a done deal as Tareq has already sent in some test shots, two of which are below for those with very strong stomachs.

The plan is for a polo-themed picture shoot to feature Tareq riding into the sunset on a horse while completely naked. And months ago, Tareq’s wife Michaele Salahi was also reported to have been in talks with Playboy for a full-frontal nude shoot but thankfully that never came to light.

The Real Housewives of DC
It’s a wrap… officially.

Two weeks after RadarOnline first broke the news, Bravo has now confirmed the Real Housewives of DC has been canceled, making this the first time ever the network has canceled a housewives franchise.

“We had an amazing season and we told stories that were unique to any other in the franchise,” Bravo’s Andy Cohen told the Washington Post on Thursday. “I wish all our DC Wives the best and hope to work with them again in another capacity.”

Below are some reactions from the DC Housewives –

Stacie Turner – “The past 18 months has truly been an amazing adventure! Thanks so much for your support. The best is yet to come…….” she tweeted.

Mary Amons – “Bittersweet day, memorable fun ride w/ @catommanney @THErealLyndaDC @stacieturnerdc & the Bravo family! Exciting projects ahead! #staytuned,” tweeted Mary.

Lynda Erkiletian – “we are too dignified ! LOL ..its not a bad thing! Xo L,” she tweeted.

Cat Ommaney – “So the milk was spilt, and we cried over it..(meow meow) and then the next show..mmm well thats going to be ‘creme de la creme’!!..” tweeted Cat.

As for Michaele Salahi, she promises her next project will be “wild and entertaining,” perhaps referring to her upcoming appearance on Celebrity Rehab.

While the DC Housewives averaged decent ratings, 1.4 million viewers, it didn’t quite compare to its counterparts, for example the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills which averaged over 2 million viewers for its freshman season. It seems the final straw for Bravo was the report that the DC Housewives had banded together and refused to do the show if the controversial Michaele was allowed back on by the network which wanted her to return.

Michaele also spoke to PEOPLE, confirming that her castmates did indeed want her off the show. “I sort of knew this was going to happen,” Michaele tells PEOPLE. “The other women didn’t want me back on the show, and [Bravo executive] Andy [Cohen] stood his ground and said there wouldn’t be a show without me on it. I’m grateful to him for that.”

This cancellation of the DC housewives could also spell trouble for the Real Housewives of Miami, which averaged a poor 1.1 million viewers this season.

Real Housewives of DC
Days after Andy Cohen revealed there was a bit of a standstill between the Real Housewives of DC and Bravo over the return of Michaele Salahi, a new report now states the show is officially dunzo!

RadarOnline is reporting that Bravo has decided to can the DC Housewives for good. The reported reason? The show just didn’t perform well enough for the network.

“The show just didn’t do well and it wasn’t worth airing another season,” a source close to the situation told Radar. “The DC housewives were meant to be starting shooting their second season now and they haven’t heard a peep from Bravo.”

“No one from the cast has been contacted yet and told that the show is cancelled,” dishes the source.

The source adds that the ratings disaster of the Real Housewives of Miami and the so-so ratings for the DC Housewives is now forcing Bravo to reconsider its housewives strategy. “After DC failed in the ratings and Miami just bombed, they realized they can’t just start a show anywhere and it will succeed,” the source said. “Bravo used to think it was about the brand and they could switch the housewives at any point but now they have realized it is about the women involved and that has changed their perspective.”

The source adds that Bravo has “realized a lot with the failure of DC and Miami, and they’re going to concentrate on the successful shows they have and not expand any further.” The source reveals when it comes to the DC franchise, “We’re just hoping that people forget it ever happened.” Ouch.

The report yesterday stated that DC housewives Mary Schmidt Amons, Cat Ommaney, Lynda Erkiletian, and Stacie Turner had banded together and threatened to walk if Bravo allowed the Salahis to return. And quite frankly, the DC Housewives are no Real Housewives of New Jersey, which seems to be doing just fine and dandy following the exit of Danielle Staub.

This news doesn’t come as a surprise because when you take away the Salahis, the Real Housewives of DC equals the Real Housewives of Miami, except probably worse. While the DC Housewives minus the Salahis might have been successful in the earlier days of Bravo Housewives (think season 1 & 2 of the OC Housewives), the ante has however been upped in recent years thanks to the antics of some of the other franchises, aka table flipping and limo fights. The DC ladies might however want to take this news as a compliment as it means they are simply too boring classy for the successful Bravo franchise.

By the way, the Real Housewives of DC had higher ratings than the Miami Housewives. And this news brings us to an interesting question…
