Last night the Critics’ Choice Television Awards 2015 was held at the Beverly Hills Hotel in Beverly Hills. The bigger awards shows are starting to recognize reality shows and this year the CCTAs had nominees in three reality TV categories: best reality series, best competition reality series and best reality series host. See the winners below!
Evelyn Lozada is returning to reality TV – I’m sure you’ve missed her. The former Basketball Wives star has a whole new life – a new fiancé, a new son, a new city, a newly grown-up daughter, and with that comes a whole new reality show! ‘Livin Lozada’ will premiere on the OWN Network July 11th to follow Evelyn and her daughter Shaniece Hairston as the navigate their rapidly changing lives.
After divorcing Chad Johnson a month after their fairytale wedding because of cheating and domestic violence, and losing their VH1 spinoff, Evelyn briefly retired from reality TV, but she has returned stronger! Evelyn is now engaged to MLB player Carl Crawford, has moved to LA, and is raising one-year-old son Leo, all while her daughter Shaniece graduated, turned 21, embarked upon a modeling career, and decided to launch a swimsuit collection.
TLC announced this afternoon that it’s pulling all episodes of 19 Kids and Counting in the wake of the Josh Duggar molestation scandal. Mama June is probably a little sad she has to put that lawsuit on hold…possibly.
TLC isn’t exactly saying that they’re canceling the show, just that they’re pulling the episodes off the air. “Effective immediately, TLC has pulled all episodes of 19 Kids And Counting currently from the air. We are deeply saddened and troubled by this heartbreaking situation, and our thoughts and prayers are with the family and victims at this difficult time.” They didn’t give any further info about the status of the show.
E!’s summer reality TV lineup thankfully doesn’t include a Kardashian spinoff -unless you count the widely anticipated docu-series about Bruce Jenner and his transition to living as a woman. But that’s not all E! is giving us this summer -there’s also more Botched to look forward to as well as a whole host of new shows so you can escape from the heat.
With so many reality TV shows coming and going lately, we decided to gather up the reality TV listings every week for Sunday through Friday.
This week brings us the premiere of Kandi’s Ski Trip, the two-night premiere of The Bachelorette with Kaitlyn Bristowe and Britt Nilsson, and the two-part Keeping Up with the Kardashians special About Bruce. E! reported, “The special will reveal intimate conversations that Bruce had with his famous family, in which they discussed his transition. The specials will also explore each family member’s struggle to process his or her own feelings as they all work through hearing from Bruce directly about finally living life as the person he has always known himself to be.”
Check out the reality TV listings list, which includes the Watch What Happens Live guests for the week, and let us know what you plan to watch.
Kate Plus Seven doesn’t have quite the same ring, now does it? Until the Gosselin sextuplets turn eighteen, you can bet their fame hungry (one confirmed, one claims to hate the spotlight but always ends up in the tabloids) parents will be fighting over the welfare of all eight of their children in a very public manner.
TLC’s first family became even more famous after Jon and Kate divorced. Kate ditched her signature rooster hairdo and sought out any television appearance available, while Jon spent his time in tumultuous relationships with much younger women, palling around with Michael Lohan, and morphing into a free Ed Hardy billboard. Sure, they were super entertaining to those of us who love a reality train wreck, but their poor children didn’t sign up for this madness! And, like all things Gosselin, the saga continues.
