Well, what do you know!?! VH1 is finally getting a clue when it comes to drawn out series. Has the network finally realized that sometimes it’s better to end a show when the drama fades than to try to recreate manufactured drama with an old cast by bringing in newbies? No, I’m not talking about the Love & Hip Hop franchise…
I smell a rat! Or at least, I smell the fragrance of a group of ladies who love to toss around that word! What would that scent be? Virginia Slims, vodka, and prison waiting rooms, perhaps? I know what it doesn’t smell like in 2016…Philadelphia or Natalies. That’s right, folks! Mob Wives is returning, and it’s getting back to basics.
The VH1 reality hit is scheduled to debut its sixth season in January, and the network is relying on the series’ OGs to bring the drama. Throughout the past seasons, we’ve seen Drita D’avanzo and Karen Gravano go from trying to kill one another (literally) to burying the hatchet (and the plates, and the chairs, and anything else that could be used as a weapon). Renee Graziano has battled personal demons–and all of her friends and co-stars–and demands the utmost loyalty to the point it causes her paranoia. Big Ang is always the fun-loving glue that keeps this group from imploding. Also, Carla Facciolo is returning as a full time cast member…we knew she couldn’t stay away for long!
We haven’t heard much from Angela “Big Ang” Raiola recently as the beloved reality star has been battling throat cancer. However, after opting for two major surgeries instead of chemotherapy, the Mob Wives scene-stealer is recovering well after doctors removed a tumor the size of a lemon from her throat.
Big Ang is rarely filmed for the VH1 series without an ever-present cigarette dangling from her giant painted lips, but that is no longer the case. Diagnosed in March, Big Ang immediately gave up the nasty habit cold turkey. She’s ready to be back in business, and her struggle with cancer, as well as relationship stresses with husband Neil Murphy, will be featured on the upcoming season of Couple’s Therapy.
Mob Wives star Big Ang had surgery last week to remove a large tumor from her throat. It was reportedly cancerous and now she is waiting to find out if they were able to remove all of the cancer during her surgery. In the meantime, she’s resting up, thanking fans for their support and also enjoying a brand new grandchild!
Angela took to Instagram to share her heartfelt thanks, “Hello my loves. THIS is what my first post on Instagram needs to be after my time away. I want to take a moment to thank you ALL from the bottom of my heart for all of your love, concern, thoughts, prayers, well wishes, and helpful notes from experiences from those of you who dealt with the same ordeal I’ve faced.”
Janet shared on Instagram, “To all my sister’s family friends fans & well wishers my sister @biggangvh1 had a extremely long nerve racking surgery today. She’s now in recovery resting. I wanna thank each & everyone of you for reaching out to us and praying for her & my family today.”
Yesterday the news broke that Mob Wives star Big Angwas undergoing tests for a lemon-sized tumor that was found in her throat and now the reality star is confirming the news. Angela Raoila posted a note to her fans yesterday afternoon, thanking them and sharing what’s up with her health.
Ang writes, apologizing for not sharing her health issue before it hit the media, “Hi my babies! I am finally able to take a moment to speak to you all. First off, my apologies that you had to find out about my condition from every other outlet but me. This was never my intent, but unfortunately it got out there.”
Doctors had bad news this week for beloved Mob Wives star Big Ang (aka Angela Raiola)! Big Ang is being treated for a throat tumor that was recently discovered after she complained of pain. What they found was tumor – the size of a lemon!
Even though the tumor was discovered earlier in the week and it’s reported that surgery will happen (or possibly did happen), she was on hand to promote a new reality show in NYC on Tuesday afternoon.
