Dorinda Medley is the newbie on Real Housewives Of New York, despite a longtime friendship with Ramona Singer, and she admits that joining the show was scary as hell because of one Bethenny Frankel, who channels her ravenous starvation into eating socialites alive with her piranha-jaw. After working out some kinks, Dorinda happily admits she’s glad she took to the plunge into the reality TV ocean – and believes she brought a peace-making energy to the motley crew of embattled socialites and social climbers!
I “acted as a bit of a mediator” Dorinda describes of her strategy with her co-stars. “I didn’t think I’d play that role, but I tried to bring the girls together.”
A widow and empty-nester whose daughter left for college recently, Dorinda says she was motivated to join RHONY on a whim. “I thought, ‘I’m turning 50, and I’ve never done anything like this.’ So I decided to give it a go.” Bolstered by a friendship with Ramona and being acquaintances with LuAnn de Lesseps, she went into it with trepidation and admits it wasn’t smooth sailing.
“I’m very excited about the upcoming season and personally, I was happy Bethenny was coming back,” declares LuAnn. “We’re friends, have history together – with both good and bad moments – and that adds some depth to the season. We reminisce a lot about the past, so true fans of the show will really enjoy that, I think.”
Kristen explains that for the most part everyone got along this season, but she certainly has some friction with Bethenny and hints we should “#staytuned LOL.” Kristen explains Bethenny brings “a whole new dynamic” which is an interesting contrast.
Bethenny and Carole were spotted together on Miami beach, soaking up the rays. The co-stars stopped to chat with a shirtless guy and Bethenny greeted him with a kiss. She was also photographed sunbathing next to him on side-by-side lounge chairs beachside. Bethenny recently shared that she’s no longer with Michael Cerussi and she’s currently single, so it’s likely this is just an acquaintance or good friend – or maybe a spring break fling.
Speaking of RHONY, Bravo has been airing old episodes this week and I am having so much fun rewatching the early seasons! It’s a little sad to see Bethenny and Jason Hoppy’s scenes together, but the rest of it is a great walk down memory lane with the original cast members! Are you watching? What funny bits had you forgotten about?
I think most of us can agree that it’s about darn time that Bethenny Frankel used some of her bajillions of dollars to enlist some public relations help in regard to her image. The once former, now returning, Real Housewives of New York star has always been a polarizing force in her spin-offs, her contentious divorce, a short-lived daytime talk show, and just her personal life in general.
After bidding farewell to the reality show that made her a household name, the skinny liquor maven is returning in the upcoming season, but Bethenny has hired some help in hopes of making herself more likable to viewers. How does one get that job?
Mario was getting very busy in the Hamptons, according to Patti, a close friend of Jill Zarin‘s, who reveals she’s seen Mario on the prowl and chalks up his indiscretions to a mid-life crisis. Last night while appearing on WWHL, Patti was asked about Mario and Ramona’s 20-year marriage, and Patti had a lot to say.
“I think it’s great that Bethenny came back,” the Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills star explained on WWHL’s After Show. “It’s hard when you keep changing the recipe, and I’m curious – I wanna know what everyone’s doing from when I started to watch the show.”
We weren’t the only ones tuned in on Sunday night to watch Bethenny Frankel’sinterview with Andy Cohen. It seems Jason Hoppy was glued to her every word and now he’s crying foul and ran to his attorney (aren’t his freaking divorce bills high enough yet?). Jason is considering his legal options over Bethenny mentioning their marriage and split during the interview.
Andy starts right out by sharing that Bethenny is coming back to the show at a time in her life when she’s suffering from two huge failures – of her marriage and her talk show. Ouch. She says “Yes. I don’t really view them as failures. I don’t think of them that way. I don’t think of them as successes, don’t get it twisted, but I don’t think of them that way. I think of them as experiences. And I really can’t compare the two, they’re very different experiences.”
