Carole starts off, “Well, for a brief shining moment we all thought Luann would pay attention to what the Universe dropped in her lap. She’d learn the lesson, go back to New York and tell TomDickHarry to hit the road. I would be Thelma to her Louise, but with a different ending. She’d bang Brad Pitt and return to New York a confident woman who didn’t take any sh– from any man. Take that TomDickHarry!”
Reacting to the season finale, Luann takes serious issue with Bethenny’s “terrible” handling of the incriminating information and wonders just what her motives were for sharing with the other women and Bravo cameras before ever approaching Luann. Fair questions, indeed, which Luann promises are brought up during the upcoming reunion.
We’ve been hearing for weeks now that the Real Housewives Of New York reunion is devastating, “terrible” and that the cast will never recover from the level of vitriol. True to form, Bravo is spreading all the gory details into a three grueling episodes.
For the most part, Ramona Singer was pretty chill during this most recent season of Real Housewives of New York. She really was not a part of the show’s most dramatic story lines for once. Maybe she is finally living up to all that hype about the “new beginnings” she’s always bragging about.
I was thinking that she was going to slip back into her Ramonster ways with all of this craziness involving the Luann De Lesseps, Tom D’Agostino, and Sonja Morgan love square, but minus one argument with Luann, she’s been pretty relaxed this season. Nevertheless, some crazy shit went down and I’ve been wondering what she thinks of it all.
With the season finale of Real Housewives Of New York done we have only the reunion to look forward to. At the center of all the drama is Bethenny Frankel, who concedes she was in “a lot of arguments this season.” But, Bethenny justifies her behaviors by blaming her co-stars who not only try to hide their lives from cameras, but who have come for the Skinnygirl empire!
“You come for me, you’re gonna get the wrath,” Bethenny shrugs. “And that’s what happened this season.”
Luann explains that she’s forgiving Tom D’Agostino’s indiscretion because she loves him. And then lays the blame on her co-stars. Yes, we’re confused, too. Luann writes, “If you can’t forgive someone you love, than who can you forgive? I was very hurt when Bethenny shared with me, after showing the other girls, the photo of Tom at the Regency. It took me some time to pull myself together after the initial shock. My gut reaction was to think about how this looked to my friends and family, and it wasn’t until I had time to think that I began to understand what I was feeling.”
I still think Bethenny had to tell Luann, but I think the way Bethenny did it was calculating and nefarious. I still think Luann is an idiot for putting her heart and dignity on the line for an odious schmuck like Tom, who doesn’t even have the decency to do his bad deeds in secret like every other cheating spouse of a Real Housewife. Even Mario had more discretion – he at least chose some other-rate fitness emporium unfancy enough to meet the demands of Ramona Singer‘s hubris!
Dorinda expresses the difficulty she’s had communicating disagreements with Bethenny. During the times when Dorinda can actually communicate at all, that is! “Sometimes Bethenny talks at you and not talks to you. And I think it is very difficult – you just want to get away from it,” she laments.
