Sick of hearing about the Millennial Generation? Well you’ll have a chance to officially root against them – or for them – when Survivor: Millennials vs. Gen-X premieres on Sept 21. Today, CBS and host Jeff Probst announced the 20 cast members that will be competing for the million dollar prize and title of Sole Survivor, when the 33rd season of the grand-daddy of all Reality TV shows, Survivor, returns this Fall.
This announcement comes with a bit of personal news: Long-time followers and readers of mine will notice that I am no longer the “Survivor Examiner,” but instead I’m writing from my new digs, at RealityTea.com. You can look forward to the same in-depth coverage of the show we love, with weekly episode previews, full recaps, and exit interviews with the voted-out castaways. Thanks for your ongoing support!
So who are the 10 all-new Millennials and 10 all-new Gen-Xers who will appear this coming season?
Good news – maybe?! – the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills has already been renewed. Bad news – the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills cast won’t change much for season seven. Why can’t we have nice things?
Earlier today, Bravo announced the six new and fourteen returning shows that will fill its summer and fall schedules. Obviously, RHOBH is on the list for fall. It will be a while before the cast is set in stone and revealed; however, when a fan tweeted @ Andy Cohen that Lisa Rinna, Yolanda Foster, Erika Girardi, and Eileen Davidson must go, he replied, “No way!”
Are y’all still with me? If you haven’t taken a sledgehammer to your phone/tablet/computer because of Andy‘s bad judgementTweet, look below to find out what other questionable choices goodies Bravo has in store for viewers.
I am shocked to see Scott Stapp‘s name on the list so soon after his psychotic break and subsequent diagnosis of bipolar disorder. I wish nothing but the best for Scott and Jaclyn but I personally don’t think a reality show (at least not this show with this doctor) is a healthy environment for him right now.
Arie Luyendyk Jr, the runner-up on Emily Maynard’s season of the Bachelorette, has made it very clear that he wanted to be the next Bachelor. At the end of July, the 32-year-old race car driver tweeted, “No hiding it anymore!” Would love to share my journey with all of you, but it’s up to #bachelornation. Open, hopeful and more than ready.”
Well #bachelornation did not get the memo because Chris Soules is the new Bachelor and needless to say Arie is none-to-happy about it.
VH1 promises: “A new group of R&B and hip hop hopefuls have their eyes on the prize and are ready to deliver the shock, drama, and scandal as only the #1 social show of the summer can do. With the music industry constantly evolving, these artists’ unwavering ambition keeps them hustling to stay at the top and willing to lay it all on the line.”
Love & Hip Hop: Hollywood premieres September 15 on VH1. Rumor has is that the cast and their storylines leave a lot to be desired – Toto, I’ve a feeling we’re not in Atlanta anymore – we shall see! Check out the full cast and sneak peek below.
“It is exciting that the continued success of Hollywood Exes has allowed us to expand this popular franchise into additional cities,” shares VH1‘s EVP Susan Levison. “Atlanta is truly enjoying a moment in the spotlight, so taking the Exes brand down South was a natural evolution. This dynamic cast truly defines what it means to be a ‘mover and shaker’ in the Atlanta social scene .”
VH1 promises us “fabulousness, ambition, love, and drama.” I’m anxious to see if this show fares well. Hollywood Exes has a small – but loyal – fan base. VH1 hasn’t promoted Atlanta Exes much, but reality shows based in Atlanta usually do well, so we shall see. Atlanta Exes premieres August 18 at 9 PM ET/PT on VH1. Meet the cast and watch the extended trailer below.
That’s 7 1/2 already – I mean, Kim? Seriously? Let’s just give her a half.
Now rumor has it that Lisa Rinna has joined the cast as well. Reportedly, ABC has approached Lisa about The View, but she couldn’t resist Bravo‘s charm. Or something. Around this time last year Lisa stated that she wouldn’t ever join Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.
Season 16 of The Biggest Loser will kick off in September – less one familiar face, Jillian Michaels, but plus two new faces, Jessie Pavelka and Jennifer Widerstrom.
Last week, NBC announced Jillian will not return to The Biggest Loser. "After helping hundreds of contestants transform their lives and inspiring millions of viewers at home, The Biggest Loser and Jillian Michaels have decided to part ways, and she will not be returning for Season 16 when it airs in the fall."
