We have seen their relationship go through some of the toughest and most private moments that teens could imagine. From 16 & Pregnant through three seasons of Teen Mom, viewers have watched Catelynn Lowell and Tyler Baltierra catapult into adulthood, far before their time. After getting pregnant at sixteen, the couple made the difficult choice to place their daughter Carly up for adoption. Thanks to their open relationship with Carly’s parents, the pair is able to share in Carly’s milestones, but at home they have dealt with their fair share of family problems.
Now, after the fourth and final season of their Teen Mom franchise has filmed (it begins airing next Tuesday, June 12, on MTV), the couple seems to have finally gotten their happy ending. Being the one couple I have sincerely rooted for since the beginning, I am happy to announce that they will be walking down the aisle on July 15, 2013. In an interview with wetpaint.com, Catelynn and Tyler discuss their wedding…and whether we’ll get to see it happen.
Amber Portwood just breaks my heart. Amber recently returned to prison to serve out the remainder of her original five year sentence. Amber was originally enrolled in a state funded drug rehabilitation program in lieu of serving time but she decided to leave the program and spend the rest of her time behind bars.
Well, Amber is speaking out about what led to her decision – and tragically it was a suicide attempt. Amber claims she became so depressed in her drug treatment program she over-dosed on pills and decided the program wasn’t for her, opting instead for a jail term.
This isn’t the first suicide attempt by the Teen Mom star. She attempted suicide last year and and announced that she had been diagnosed with bi-polar disorder.
Speaking to Good Morning America from jail, Amber explained the circumstances. “I had taken 30 Suboxone [a drug used to treat opioid addictions] within 3 days. The depression took over. I would take 4 or 5 at a time.”
It deeply saddens me to report this news, as I take it as a sign that Amber Portwood has given up hope. The Teen Mom star was just sentenced to five years in prison after asking an Indiana judge to reimpose her original sentence.
Amber has had a string of legal issues – most of them related to her substance abuse – recently she was participating in a drug treatment and sobriety program in exchange for serving jail time, but after she was kicked out of the program for missing too many requirements after a gallbladder surgery she decided to do jail time instead of campaigning to be reinstated.
The surprising thing about the now defunct impending nuptials is the reason WHY Gary and Jenelle split. No it wasn’t her alleged drug use, or her twitter antics, or the accusations of domestic violence, or the scandalous photos of her surging around the web, or the legal drama… it was over an alleged stolen necklace.
Taking to twitter – where else – the Teen Mom 2 star announced the pair had called it quits when Gary reportedly stole her $300 Tiffany necklace and took it to base with him. Jenelle accuses him of breaking into her house to get the necklace and posted a photo of the broken door jam. The photo is below.
We’ve long suspected the girls of Teen Mom earn big bucks – I mean they have to afford the boob jobs, and the attorneys, and all the other ridiculous they blow their money on! Well apparently all Teen Moms are not created equal in terms of paychecks and according to Star Magazine (via RadarOnline) they earn a veritable mixed bag of salaries. Some high… some well, still high enough.
Jenelle Evans, who brings in big ratings for being, well, a total trainwreck earns an estimated $75,000 a year according to a source. “And her mom gets paid $65,000: she calls her an overpaid babysitter,” the source adds. In addition to the paycheck, Jenelle “also gets a lot of gift cards to places like The Olive Garden from MTV as a bonus payment.” I wonder if she got a gift card for the world’s worst boob job?
Teen Mom star Amber Portwood has been a wreck for a while now and is desperately pleading with a judge to send her to prison!
Amber was offered a second chance by the judge back in January. She could’ve avoided prison if she successfully completed a drug rehab program. Amber has been in and out of jail and is now requesting that she be sent to prison so she can serve the time and get clean.
During a routine hearing yesterday, Amber admitted to the judge she would always “be a bad girl” and that she hasn’t been clean at all since starting the program at the beginning of the year. Amber told the judge she couldn’t stand the drug program and wanted out. The only alternative for Amber is prison.
Amber was taken into custody and will sit in the county jail until her sentencing – which could be up to five years per the original agreement.
This makes me so sad for her that she thinks the only way to help herself is prison. She clearly has had some deep problems all along, but how much of it is related to the pressures of being in the media spotlight at such a young age?
TELL US – DO YOU THINK MTV IS TO BLAME FOR ANY OF AMBER’S ISSUES? DO YOU THINK PARTICIPATING IN TEEN MOM IS TOO MUCH FOR THESE YOUNG GIRLS TO BE IN THE SPOTLIGHT?
One batch of pseudo wealthy, formerly adolescent moms are walking off into the sunset (and probably heading on to another reality show, let’s be real) on the final season of Teen Mom, which will premiere on June 12.
In the below trailer, it’s evident this season will be just as dramatic as the ones before. Amber Portwood will have to discuss her rotating court and prison appearances; Catelynn Lowell continues to deal with her dysfunctional mother; Maci Bookout still has feelings for her baby daddy, and Farrah Abraham decides to leave her toxic mother. And also continue to be the worst.
