Bachelor

It’s official! Following weeks of speculation, ABC has officially confirmed Brad Womack will be returning as the new Bachelor.

The announcement came during last night’s episode of Dancing With The Stars.  For those of you not familiar with Brad, he was the season 11 Bachelor back in 2007, and became infamous after dumping both of his final two picks.

ABC is however claiming Brad, 37, is now a changed man.  According to the network, Brad has undergone “intensive therapy” and has been on a “quite painful journey of self-awareness” since the 2007 fiasco.

Brad, a Texas bar owner, is also set to appear on the Ellen show today, during which he will admit to having some “commitment issues” in the past.

“More importantly, that [Bachelor] process is difficult,” said Brad in the Ellen interview. “I thought that I was as open as I was supposed to be and clearly I wasn’t. I walked away and wound up all alone and left two girls standing there.”

Brad also assures fans of the show that things will be different this go.  “I know it’s tough to believe it’s a television show but…I am a completely different person. I don’t want to visit that thought.”

Moving right along to last night’s Dancing With The Stars episode.  For the most part, all of the stars showed major improvement over their first dance with the sole exception of Michael Bolton, who earned the lowest score of the night – a 12 for his dull jive, which Bruno called the worst jive dance in the history of the show.

Despite being toted as the one to beat, Brandy and partner Maksim failed to impress last night, falling to the middle of the pack with a score of 21.  The highest score of the night once again went to Jennifer Grey, scoring a 24 for her impressive quickstep dance.

A full recap of last night’s scores below -

Jennifer Grey & Derek Hough: 24
Audrina Patridge & Tony Dovolani: 23
Bristol Palin & Mark Ballas: 22
Kyle Massey & Lacey Schwimmer: 22
Brandy & Maksim Chmerkovskiy: 21
Kurt Warner & Anna Trebunskaya: 21
Rick Fox & Cheryl Burke: 21
Florence Henderson & Corky Ballas: 19
Margaret Cho & Louis van Amstel: 18
The Situation & Karina Smirnoff: 18
Michael Bolton & Chelsie Hightower: 12

TELL US – WHO SHOULD BE SENT HOME ON TONIGHT’S DWTS?

Avid Bachelor watcher, Elisabeth Hasselbeck of The View, is not happy with ABC’s reported choice for the next Bachelor.

As we reported last week, the buzz is that indecisive former Bachelor, Brad Womack, has been chosen once again to be the next Bachelor.

“Ugh!” she told UsWeekly. “Translation: They couldn’t find somebody!” Elisabeth might be onto something as several media outlets have reported that ABC’s first choice, Chris Lambton, turned them down.

Brad, 27, became infamous in 2007 when he left the final two women, DeAnna Pappas and Jenni Croft, broken hearted by not choosing either of them. At the time, the Bachelor was still somewhat of a classy show, hence Brad’s decision shocking fans of the show.

Elisabeth, 33, feels that Brad doesn’t deserve a second shot at love, at least not on TV. “He didn’t have enough choices before? How many women do you need, Brad?” she asked. “They should really reevaluate that one.”

In other Bachelor news, Entertainment Weekly is confirming ABC will officially announce the new Bachelor on tonight’s episode of Dancing With The Stars.

TELL US – DO YOU AGREE OR DISAGREE WITH ELISABETH?

Is The Bachelor franchise ready to do something it has never done before?

According to Star magazine, that answer is yes! Star is reporting that Brad Womack, who starred on 11th season of the Bachelor in 2007, has been chosen to once again star on the upcoming season. Brad is infamous for not picking anyone during his season, dumping his final two women, Deanna Pappas and Jenni Croft.

“All signs are pointing to Brad being the next Bachelor,” Bachelor insider Steve Carbone tells Star. “And it’s not that far fetched because apparently they asked him last year before asking Jake Pavelka.”

This comes as a huge surprise as ABC had been privately and publicly courting Chris Lambton to be the next Bachelor, but as reported back in August, Chris refused ABC’s offer citing that he wanted to step away from the spotlight and return to his “normal life.”

Star magazine adds that ABC will be making the announcement any day now. PEOPLE magazine is also reporting that the next season of the Bachelor is scheduled to begin filming next month.

Jake Pavelka

Jake Pavelka wants another shot at fame reports the latest issue of UsWeekly magazine.

According to the mag, the former Bachelor star is “begging” ABC to make him the new Bachelor, you know, considering how successful his first stint was.

“Jake has made it clear he would do it again in a heartbeat,” says a source about Jake, 31, who had a nasty split with ex-fiance Vienna Girardi, just 4 months after proposing to her.

However, it seems the Bachelor producers are on to Jake as a show source tells the magazine Jake is “more concerned with becoming famous than with finding a wife,” adding that “what he loved was the attention.”

According to the insider, the producers of the show “want someone whose goal is to find true love.” Good luck with that Bachelor producers.

TELL US – WOULD YOU WANT TO SEE JAKE RETURN AS THE BACHELOR? OR A FORMER BACHELOR RETURN FOR THAT MATTER?

Chris Lambton

It seems all hope is not lost when it comes to Chris Lambton possibly becoming the next Bachelor.

E! News reported weeks ago that the former Bachelorette contestant was hesitant about doing the show, citing that Chris no longer wanted to be on television.

The show host Chris Harrison is now speaking out and tells PEOPLE magazine Lambton has yet to completely rule out the offer.

“There’s an ongoing dialogue,” Harrison tells PEOPLE. “I was just with him this weekend in North Carolina and we talked about the show … it may be right for him, but it may not be.”

Harrison admits only Chris knows what is best for him.  “You have to take aside the clamoring of millions of fans [who] want him to be the Bachelor just because they [want] to wish him well,” Harrison says. “But they don’t necessarily know what’s right for him or what’s right for the show.”

Bachelorette Ali and Roberto

In other news, engaged Bachelorette star Ali Fedotowsky continues to talk about her dream wedding, you know, the wedding that will likely never happen when you take into account the extremely high failure rate of Bachelor couples.

But perhaps things will be different for Ali and her fiance Roberto Martinez. When it comes to her wedding dress, Ali tells UsWeekly, “I’m leaning towards Monique Lhuillier. I like her. I like the  flowiness of her dresses.”

And it seems Ali is aware of the low success rate of Bachelor(ette) couples, but she states she and Roberto are very devoted to each other.  The two have even recently moved in together in LA.  “We don’t even think of it like ‘are we going to make it a month? Are we going to make it six months?’” she said. “When we’re talking about doing things, we’re like ‘babe, we have the rest of our lives, that can wait, we can do that later, we have out whole lives.’ We’re going to make it!”

Vienna Girardi and Jake Pavelka

Months after his nasty and very public split with his ex-fiance Vienna Girardi, it seems Jake Pavelka has had time to heal.

The former Bachelor star tells RadarOnline in a new interview that he isn’t holding a grudge when it comes to his ex.  “I wish her the absolute best,” said Jake.

RadarOnline reports the two exes have yet to speak to each other since their volatile sit down interview for ABC, which left Vienna storming out in tears. The interview took place after Vienna sold her break up story to Star magazine, detailing a sexless and emotionally abusive relationship with Jake.

“I wish her great luck. I hope she goes out and breaks a million hearts. I think she has some pretty realistic goals in her life, and I wish her the absolute best. Hopefully she’ll find that guy that she can spend the next 60 years of life with,” said the phony Jake.

Jake also shared that he hasn’t dated anyone yet since his break up, but remains optimistic he will eventually find someone to share the rest of his life with.

And what does Jake like in a woman? “I prefer blondes, brunettes and redhead or any combination there of,” he said adding that his dream girl will have a big heart and “be somebody that is really kind.”

As we reported this week, Vienna has moved on and now has a new man in her life named John Sala.

Chris LambtonVienna Girardi with boyfriend John Sala

Chris Lambton wants nothing to do with the Bachelor franchise reports E! News.

According to E! online, the former Bachelorette finalist has rejected ABC’s offer to have him become the next Bachelor. Chris’s reason? He reportedly wants to step away from the spotlight and return to his “normal life.”

In layman’s terms, Chris is not a famewhore, which of course only makes him more likable. However, sources tell E! that the ABC network is not ready to give up on Chris yet.

“The producers really want Chris to be the guy,” says a source. “They’re hoping they can convince him…This definitely isn’t dead yet.” An ABC insider adds that it’s “too soon” to determine who will be the next Bachelor.

Though Chris would have made a great Bachelor, must say this is a smart choice for him, as show has gotten much trashier and phony by the minute.

In other news, approximately 2 months after her nasty split with Jake Pavelka, it seems Vienna Girardi has moved on to a new man!

The 24-year-old Florida native, who had to endure a sexless relationship with Jake, stepped out with new beau John Sala on Tuesday. Usweekly reports the two lovebirds got very cozy during their night out.

Vienna posted on her twitter on Tuesday, “Yes, Im dating and he is amazing guy…Im so Happy!!.” Here’s to hoping we won’t have to read the sordid details of this relationship when it ends, not that we think it won’t last forever or anything.

TELL US – DO YOU WANT CHRIS AS THE NEXT BACHELOR? IF NOT, WHO DO YOU WANT?

Deanna Pappas fiance Stephen StaglianoHolly Durst and Michael Stagliano

Former Bachelorette star Deanna Pappas is once again engaged according to UsWeekly.

DeAnna, 28, confirms to the magazine that she is indeed engaged to Stephen Stagliano, who just happens to be the twin brother of former Bachelorette contestant Michael Stagliano. “I was crying, holding his hands, and he showed me the ring. I just nodded, like, ‘Yeah!’” DeAnna tells Us.

UsWeekly is also reporting that former Bachelor contestant Holly Durst is engaged to Michael Stagliano, a contestant on the Bachelorette season of Jillian Harris. Michael proposed to Holly on June 26th.

DeAnna and Holly both met their fiances (the twins) at a party for 2009′s The Bachelorette: The Men Tell All special. The two engaged couples plan on having a double wedding in the spring of 2010.

The quartet is also hoping to have their weddings featured on an impending reality show titled Four Better, for Worse.

Jesse Csincsak and Ann Lueders

Continuing with the Bachelor incestuous theme, RadarOnline is now reporting Jesse Csincsak is engaged to former Bachelor contestant Ann Lueders.

In case you’re wondering, yes this is the same Jesse who used to be engaged to DeAnna Pappas after winning her Bachelorette season in 2008, and yes this is the same Jesse who briefly dated DeAnna’s future sister-in-law to be, Holly Durst in 2009. Whew!

Jesse, who might or might not be a raging famewhore, made sure to invite the RadarOnline cameras to capture every moment of his intimate engagement and also made sure to tell the site he proposed with a “stunning $22,000 custom-made 2 carat princess cut engagement ring designed by Rob Levit of North Eastern Ohio-based Levit Jewelers Inc.”

And in case you’re asking yourself, who the heck is Ann Lueders? Well you’re not alone. A quick search however shows Ann was on the Bachelor season 13 with Jason Mesnick. She was however eliminated the first night.
