Who is Erika‘s competition? Well, she has her work cut out for her, as she’s up against gymnast Simone Biles, Fifth Harmony’s Normani Kordei, Glee (um, hello, dancing!) star Heather Morris, and figure skater Nancy Kerrigan. Just to name a few. Check out the full cast list below and let us know if you’ll watch.
It seemed all good in the hood when former Bacheloretteleads Kaitlyn Bristowe and Andi Dorfman joined their mutual runner-up Nick Viall during an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel to promote Nick’s season of The Bachelor. The thought of this made me feel awkward given Kaitlyn and Nick’s history, but also because of Kaitlyn’s rocky history with the Bachelor franchise. Kaitlyn infamously spoiled her own Bachelorette season when she accidentally posted a photo with her in bed with her winner/fiance Shawn Booth. So I was pretty surprised when she was back in the fold promoting The Bachelor. Well, that was short-lived since Kaitlyn ranted on Twitter about Nick getting the opportunity to be on Dancing With the Stars.
The last lead from the franchise to appear on DWTSwas Chris Soules and many people credit the demise of his Bachelor engagement with Whitney Bischoff to being on Dancing With the Stars. And many past Bachelor leads have warned their successors from following in their foot steps since the show is rough for a new relationship. So it wasn’t super surprising when the last three series leads did not go on to the ballroom. Well, apparently there’s more to that.
I have to admit that I am a part of Bachelor Nation. I watch The Bachelor and all of its spin-offs. I’m even contemplating trying out for the next season. Needless to say, I am pretty invested in the franchise. But I have to keep it real and tell you that I could not get into the “Happily Ever After” spin-off show with Ben Higgins and Lauren Bushnell.
Don’t get me wrong I love Ben, but I just can’t see this show getting a second season.
The upcoming season of The Bachelor has been super controversial and highly talked about even though filming hasn’t even wrapped up yet. Ever since Nick Viall was chosen for the leading role, Bachelor Nation was super surprised by the decision and curious about what his season will have to offer. You don’t have to wait too much longer, Nick’sBachelor season has an official premiere date- thank God.
Everyone wants to know what Nick’s season will be like. Even though Nick and host Chris Harrison are both waiting to see how it all ends up for the eternal runner-up, we at least have one thing set in stone and that is the start date for the upcoming season.
Nick was already on three reality shows in the Bachelor franchise, so why not bring in someone from Bravo? Yes, it’s a super random idea, but it would probably bring some additional viewers to the series. The only real issue that I see is that Real Housewives of Orange County is a Bravo show which is a part of the NBC Universal family and The Bachelor airs on ABC, but that might be irrelevant since Lauri hasn’t been a full time Housewife in years. But anyway, let’s get back to the story here.
They sound a little bitter to me. After all, the trend for this franchise has been to pick the star for the next season from last season’s pool of contestants, which includes both Chad and Robby. Not to mention that Luke Pell has been doing a press tour of complaints after he was rudely shafted from the role at the last minute. With so many differing opinions about Nick, I have a feeling that a lot of people will be watching The Bachelor next season.
The fans from Bachelor Nation were collectively shocked when 2-time Bachelorettealum Nick Viall was named as the next star of The Bachelor. Everyone and their grandmothers thought that it was between Luke Pell and Chase McNary from JoJo Fletcher’sBachelorette season. After all, that’s how the franchise typically works: the star of one season is a cast off from the season before.
So no one ever thought that Nick who was on the show two and three seasons ago was even in the running and when I say “no one” apparently this included Luke as well because he thought that he was chosen to star in the Bachelor and he was all set to film.
Is the FOURTH time the charm for Nick Viall? Or just pathetically famewhorey?
That is the question facing Bachelor Nation this morning. In case you missed it, Nick, who was runner-up on Andi‘s season of the Bachelorette, then hijacked Kaitlyn‘s season of the Bachelorette and was runner up again, then failed to find love on Bachelor in Paradise, was announced as the next The Bachelor lead, which many thought would be one of JoJo Fletcher‘s rejects, specifically Luke Pell or Chase McNary.
Chris Harrison, the most dramatic reality TV host ever, appeared on GMA this morning to explain the decision.
