What’s a former Bravo housewife to do when her new show continues to flop mercilessly on the new network she’s on? Well if you’re Danielle Staub, you try to make a tragic moment all about you!
Yes, the former Real Housewives of New Jersey cast member/star of that new show on VH1 that no one’s watching has somehow managed to hijack the tragic suicide of Russell Armstrong this week by revealing her own suicidal thoughts. Really… she did. In a new interview, Danielle claims the pressures of being on a reality show also contributed to her contemplating suicide.
“I was very close to taking my own life — not just on one occasion — it’s been several times,” Danielle told ET in an exclusive interview. She added: “And what always saved me was the thought of my children living with that for the rest of their lives. I didn’t want them to have that memory of me. I wanted them to remember me — even if I’m going through my struggles — alive.”
While fighting back tears, Danielle reveals she understands the deep dark places that must have led to the suicide of Taylor Armstrong’s estranged husband. “I don’t have words to describe how alone you feel. And everybody’s coming at you, and judging you, and they don’t even know you.”
Danielle adds, “It’s really hard to talk to people who are not in our genre about what really goes on when the lights go down. And maybe your family starts to break apart, and you get caught up in it. And I’m not blaming anybody for what I’ve been through, I’m just saying it’s hard to explain top people who aren’t doing this for a living.”
Oddly enough, the ET story manages to plug Danielle’s new reality show Famous Food, you know, the same type of show that ruins lives and families according to Danielle,at the end of the article.

TELL US – YOU BELIEVE DANIELLE? OR DO YOU THINK THIS IS JUST A PLOY FOR ATTENTION?
Back in May, TMZ posted photos of Danielle, who was a prostitution whore stripper and an escort in her younger days, stripping for Scores Gentleman’s Club in New York. It was revealed that the 48-year-old mother of two had decided to become a stripper again… at age 48. A day after those pictures came out, Danielle revealed she had quit stripping and was seeking psychological help. Well today, she is now revealing the reasons for her choices.
“That’s in litigation right now,” says Danielle (Scores filed a $375,000 lawsuit against her for breach of contract). “I wasn’t handled properly, I’m going to put it that way. But I wasn’t there to do what ended up being and if you look at my eyes all I can say is you can see something is wrong. Something went very wrong.”
The deal with Scores was a three-year contract with the strip club to make live appearances at the clothes optional establishment.
A friend of Danielle’s also defends her to the Huffington Post. “Why as a celebrity does she need to walk back into that kind of stuff?” the friend who considers Danielle a big star, asks. “She already had a show lined up. She left one show and was going to another. She didn’t need to do that.”
Meanwhile days after we reported Danielle’s claims thatMelissa Gorgawas the one who fed her information about Teresa Giudicelast year, it appears she is working hard to make the story public.
She tweeted the following to In Touch Weekly magazine earlier this week – “@Intouchweekly tell corynne I’ve rcd her msgs for an interview revealing the truth- several media outlets r contacting me-my team will reply.” Guess we will have to wait and see if In Touch bites.

TELL US – THOUGHTS ON DANIELLE’S EXPLANATION? YOU BUYING IT?
In a new interview with Hamptons Magazine, Bravo’s Executive Vice President, Original Programming and Development Andy Cohentouches on a number of topics.
The interview was actually conducted by Andy’s friend Mark Consuelos who states, “My wife and I met him five years ago, and we feel like we have been lifelong friends.” Andy dishes on his most memorable WWHL guests, what he loves about each Housewives series, and which housewife has surprised him the most, hint – it’s a RHONJ! Excerpts from the interview below -
MARK CONSUELOS: Your show Watch What Happens: Live is ridiculously successful—you recently celebrated its 100th episode. What do you think it is about the show that everyone connects to? ANDY COHEN: I think it is just the weird combinations of people. You have Sandra Bernhard and Sonja Morgan on, and Nacho Figueras—actually, it was a little bit of a Hamptons fest. You don’t know what is going to happen. I think it is a Fellini movie mixed with Wayne’s World.
MC:I have been on your show a few times, and it is so much fun. I think alcohol plays a small part in that, actually. I think Kelly said that alcohol could be your cohost. AC: Alcohol could be my cohost, but I am not looking for a cohost.
MC: No, I don’t think you need one. The alcohol does help to make people a little loose. Which guest has gotten the loosest? AC: There was one time when Bethenny Frankel turned to me during a commercial break and said, “I am trashed.” And Ricki Lake was very drunk. Then we had Regina King and Jackée Harry—that was the most famous, that became something. I got off the air and said, “That show was terrible”; I really felt like it was bad, but they were really into it, the ratings were high, and the fans loved it.
MC: What you are doing right now is rare. I don’t think it has really ever happened before, where you are straddling this network executive role while hosting a late-night talk show. Which do you find a bigger challenge? Is this part of your evil plan to take over television? AC: I find my day job more challenging than my hosting job; I find that just a pleasure. I feel like I am hanging out with people that I know or have wanted to know, and everybody is invited to my party. And I love throwing parties. My day job is complex and complicated, and although I feel like I am good at producing television, it is challenging.
MC: Would you want to host five nights a week? AC: You know, somewhere in my mind, I would love to, but it would mean that I would have to make some kind of a Sophie’s Choice because this job that I have is a 12-hour-a-day job. By the way, Bravo has not asked me to do this five nights a week; I just want to be a good solider.
MC: You have had some big celebrities on your show, but who would be your ultimate get? AC: Michelle Obama. There is an election [coming next year]—maybe we should start working on this now. And Madonna. You know I am a huge Madonna fan.
MC:Whom would you rather save, Joe Gorga or Joe Giudice from Real Housewives of New Jersey or Mauricio Umansky from Real Housewives of Beverly Hills? AC: Wow, this is a real brain twister. I would like to say Joe Gorga, but I am going to say Mauricio.
MC:Let’s talk Housewives—the show is great. If you had to keep only one of them, which is your favorite? AC: I can’t! It is usually whichever one I am watching rough cuts of. Right now I am watching Jersey and New York, but they each bring me a different form of love. The Atlanta ladies just make me laugh my ass off. Beverly Hills, I just feel draped in cashmere. New Jersey, I love the way it is shot, the storytelling and the music; I think they do a brilliant job, and I love the construction of that show. New York, I just love these women and it entertains me—these glam New York women fighting about why people didn’t RSVP to their party; I think it represents this slice of New York life that makes me smile. Miami, I am so in love with Mama Elsa [Patton], I cannot even handle it. And Orange County is Knots Landing, and I feel like there is some real-life drama that happens with those women.
MC:These women have become celebrities, and with some really thriving business. Which one has surprised you the most? AC: You know, Bethenny didn’t surprise me because I think she is so driven, but Teresa [Giudice] has a New York Times best-selling cookbook called Skinny Italian, and she has another one called Fabulicious. She really took me by surprise. Give it up to Teresa.
I’m sure a lot of you have been watching the horrible magic that defines NBC’s Love in the Wild, but if not, I’ll try to sum up it’s awesomely badness in a few quick paragraphs before starting last night’s recap.
In a nutshell, ten dudes and ten ladies got sick of the dating game madness and decided to come on a Costa Rican jungle-based reality show for love fame. The couples pair up and compete in rigorous adventures which send the duo straight to a “normal life” date number six, when the sparkle has dulled and you realize that your new paramour can’t read a map, has a very short temper and picks at his toenails while watching Law & Order. Basically the show makes these couples skip dates one through five. It’s amazing. The winning couple wins a night at the posh Oasis while the remaining pairs are banished to the “Cabins” which aren’t too shabby either. The partners not only share the adventure, they must also share a room with one bed.

Reality famewhores stars Heidi Montag and Danielle Staub are discovering the hard way this week that their 15 minutes of fame might be officially over.
The two are currently starring on VH1′s new series Famous Food, alongside other famewhoresJake Pavelka,Ashley Dupre, & others, which premiered this Sunday. The ratings are however out today and it is nothing short of a disaster.
How many people tuned in? Only 430,000 viewers. Those numbers are a major flop especially considering the amount of publicity the show received in addition to the fact that the show aired on a major network.
In comparison Sunday’s episode of theReal Housewives of New Jersey, aka Danielle’s former show, was seen by over 2.2 million viewers. Sucks to be Danielle.
It’s safe to assume there will be no second season of Famous Food, or better yet no more reality shows featuring Heidi and Danielle. Here’s to hoping the newly opened Lemon Basket restaurant from the show performs better than the actual show.
