Teresa and Joe Giudice arrive at a federal court

This week Teresa Giudice and Joe Giudice finally faced the inevitable and pled guilty for their 41 counts of federal fraud charges. Teresa has expressed her shame for what this has done to her daughters and vowed not to speak publicly about the matter again. Until Barbara Walters or Oprah comes a'callin' I'm sure!

Faced with an insurmountable indictment, the Real Housewives of New Jersey star is subject to a sentence of 21 – 27 months but Judge Esther Salas has the final say in just how long – if any – Teresa will serve in prison. Perhaps Joe may just be headed to the slammer solo! Teresa's attorney explained to People that Teresa has a strategy for convincing the Judge why she should be permitted to remain a free lady.

"Teresa's plan is to explain to the court both how she ended up in this mess to begin with as well as how she has made a life for herself and the girls that will see them through it," her lawyer Henry Klingeman revealed. "We have the right to ask for probation and we are going to."

Teresa and Joe Guidice plead guilty in Federal Court in NJ

The court system never fails to boggle my mind.  Yesterday Teresa Giudice and Joe Giudice faced the judge to plead guilty to charges of fraud.  The Real Housewives of New Jersey stars pled guilty to a miniscule amount of charges out of the 41 total that they were facing and their jail time could be short and sweet, depending on the judge's mood come July.

The Giudice's plea deals hit the court site yesterday and Tamara Tattles broke it down in simple terms.  We've got some of the highlights for you, but for the full read, see TT!

Teresa's terms.  First, she's pleading guilty to only 4 of the 41 charges she was indicted on.  The feds agree in the plea deal to agree to drop charges 2-14, 16-21 and 26-35.   The counts that stand are as follows:

Count 1: Conspiracy to commit mail and wire fraud -  Max 20 years/ $250K Fine

Teresa and Joe Guidice plead guilty in Federal Court in NJ

Teresa and Joe Giudice pled guilty in federal court today to their fraud charges as part of a plea deal with the prosecution.  They'll be sentenced on July 8th and the judge will determine how much time they spend in prison, but it looks like both will definitely serve time.

Teresa released a statement to InTouch about the events today and says she won't be speaking further about the case:  "Today, I took responsibility for a series of mistakes I made several years ago. I have said throughout that I respect the legal process and thus I intend to address the Court directly at sentencing. I will describe the choices I made, continue to take responsibility for my decisions, and express my remorse to Judge Salas and the public."

Teresa and Joe Giudice arrive at a federal court

Today is the big day!  Teresa Giudice and Joe Giudice just arrived at federal court this morning to plead guilty as part of a plea deal with the prosecutors in their federal fraud case.

Until we hear the final verdicts of what happened inside this morning, here are the photos of the Real Housewives of New Jersey stars arriving to court just a bit ago to hold us over.  Stay tuned…

Updated Again:  The couple pled guilty in front of the judge this morning with a simple "yes, your honor" when asked if this is how they wished to plead.  Their sentencing will be on July 8th!

From NewJersey.com:  Under the plea agreements Joe "could be sentenced to a minimum of three years but less than four years in prison."  and Teresa "would face a term within the range of 21 to 27 months."    Teresa's attorney reserved the right to ask the judge for a sentence below the guidelines range based on family circumstances and her minimal role in the fraud.  The Judge is not obligated to accept the plea deal's sentencing!

Under their plea agreements, Joe Giudice, 43, could be sentenced to a minimum of three years but less than four years in prison, while Teresa Giudice, 41, would face a term within the range of 21 to 27 months.

Her attorney, Henry E. Klingeman, however, reserved the right to ask the judge for a sentence below the guidelines range based on family circumstances — the couple has four daughters — and her minimal role.

U.S. District Judge Esther Salas set sentencing for July 8. She is not obligated to accept the sentencing parameters agreed upon in the plea deal.

The lucky few have been chosen!

Four select ladies from various Real Housewives franchises banded together to film a bit for the upcoming Bravo Upfronts. The Upfronts is when Bravo dangles its most popular shows to hype the upcoming seasons. Not being seen at the Upfronts probably means you won't be seen on TV. Unless of course you're select members of Real Housewives of New York. Case in point: Sonja Morgan

During last year's Upfronts Sonja was in a contract dispute with the network and was a no show – mainly because she was rumored to be uninvited

This week we reported that Kim DePaola is being sued by a jeweler named Constantino Frangopolous.  He claims in his lawsuit that Kim ripped off his designs and sold them as her own.

Kim D., who featured her jewelry on episodes of Real Housewives of New Jersey, fired back in true Kim D. fashion with our quote of the day:

“It’s complete bulls**t! I never met this guy before in my life! He is going to find out real soon who the big boys are! I have the most powerful attorney on the planet. I am suing for punitive damages.”

There you have it.  Kim isn't playing around.  Game on.
