Bethenny‘s currently in the middle of a press tour for her books, Cookie Meets Peanut and Skinnygirl Cocktails, so now she’s promoting the books AND she’s talking about the ratings challenged show. As they say, timing is everything.
In a recent interview with Extra, Bethenny talked about her decision to return to Real Housewives of New York, her personal life, and her reaction to Real Housewives of New Jersey‘s Teresa Giudice‘s prison sentence.
Bethenny Frankel is doing double book duty! Her new book “Skinnygirl Cocktails” released today. She’ll be doing a load of promotion for that one and she’s still busy doing press work for “Cookie Meets Peanut,” including readings and book signings with Cookie in tow. Perhaps this is why she wasn’t along for the Real Housewives of New York’strips to the Hamptons and Arizona – previous contractual agreements for the books?
Bethenny shared the photo above and captioned it, “My newest book #SkinnygirlCocktails comes out today!! Get it wherever books are sold! All of my favorite @skinnygirl party drink and snack recipes in one handy little book!”
The girls have been filming in The Hamptons for LuAnn’s estate sale, in Arizona, and around NYC. And to really promote the season they’ve been sharing a ton of photos on Instagram and Twitter – which is unusual given that Bravo has always tried to keep things very under wraps in previous seasons.
Interestingly, none of the ladies are posing with Bethenny (except LuAnn), despite all raving about her return. Glad they’re happy… Is Bravo trying to keep Bethenny’s storyline more of a secret to pull in viewers? Likely! Not surprising, however, is that Ramona and Sonja are at odds with the rest of the group.
PS – does anyone else feel that Carole, Heather and Bethenny won’t get along? Bethenny does not like competition!
Andy Cohen is always so open and honest, I think that is why Watch What Happens Live! works so well. But the Real Housewives head honcho has not always been so forthcoming with casting scoop, I assume to keep things secret to boost ratings.
So it was a total surprise when it was announced long before the season airs that former fan favorite, Bethenny Frankel, would be returning for season 7 of the Real Housewives of New York. So just how long had Bethenny’s return been in the works?
LuAnn will be hosting a glamorous yard sale next weekend where luxury seekers can buy items personally touched by The Countess – and several of your other favorite RHONY stars. I have my eye on Ramona Singer‘s used pinot glasses!
LuAnngot $8 million for her glamorous 6,5000 square-foot Hamptons retreat which she sold to developer Joe Farrell. He plans to tear it down to build a property double that size (yuck) so LuAnn is selling off all the fixtures – why let it go to waste?!
Bethenny shared on her website, “Well, there has been a lot of speculation about my return to television and to Bravo in particular. Bravo and I have maintained an incredible partnership and relationship over the years, which is something I am very proud of and grateful for. It really is where it all began for me, and you can’t forget where you came from.”
Last night Sonja attended an exclusive cabaret show at Café Carlyle for a performance by actress Molly Ringwald. At $600 per ticket, one might expect class – or not! Sonja reportedly showed up wasted, violated dress code, and behaved sloppily, report other attendees.
Witnesses claim that Sonja was seated front and center and paid more attention to her cell phone than the performance. And that she was drunk as a skunk upon arrival – only worsened by her “martini-swilling” throughout the evening. Lord let’s just be thankful she kept all her clothes on and her legs closed, or didn’t hop up on stage to perform her own “Caburlesque” nonsense.
From her table surround by male attendants (who is she Lady Gaga now?) Sonja was talking loudly throughout Molly’s act and spent the evening texting and tweeting on her phone. “Sonja seemed completely bombed,” says a witness of Sonja’s attention-seeking. “She had about five men at the table and they were all chatting throughout. She drunkenly asked to meet Molly, who declined.”
