Yesterday, Bravo announced that Real Housewives of Atlanta season 8 is a go, as if there was any doubt. While the show will move forward without its last remaining original cast member, NeNe Leakes, she’ll no doubt be a big part of the 100th episode special. A big, loud, and obnoxious part.
On Sunday, July 12th, Bravo will air the Real Housewives of Atlanta: 100th Episode Watch What Happens Live Special. “The one-hour special will take a trip down memory lane and relive the series’ most unforgettable and buzziest moments,” announced Bravo. “From shady digs to an array of wigs, Watch What Happens Live host Andy Cohen pulls back the curtain on one of reality TV’s most-talked about shows and sits down with Housewives past and present to get the scoop on how the series has affected their lives.”
A viewer asks Sonja why she wouldn’t listen to what Bethenny has to say? “I know this group of girls really well and I heard them last season saying I wasn’t focused on my businesses and I was all over the place and now we see I have a collection, I do have a house of fashion, I have jewelry, I have swimwear, I have evening gowns, sportswear. And then they were saying that I was going to lose my house and we see I’m still living in my house. So, you know what I feel about these comments? Exactly the same way. I have professionals who take care of me and they’re not professionals (her co-stars). And just because Bethenny’s just coming back to the group and she’s hearing what the girls are saying after a weekend that went off the rails in Atlantic City, I think it’s a little premature.”
The first question out of the gate was a fan wanting to know if the story out there was true claiming that Heather took her eight year old daughter to get her legs waxed. Is it true and isn’t she worried it’s sending a poor message? Heather blasted, “This came out in Star magazine. First of all it came out on Star.com and Terry and I Tweeted about the fact that it was not a true story and no one fact checked, no one called. They took the story but as I was landing in New York last night, I opened Star magazine and there’s an article there. First of all, my daughter is twelve, not eight. Second of all, it is unconscionable and across the line to take kids and put them in these situations. I’m sorry, they have just really, it’s the lowest of the low and I really do expect a retraction and an apology from Star magazine.”
With so many reality TV shows coming and going lately, we decided to gather up the reality TV listings every week for Sunday through Friday.
TLC is airing 3 HOURS of Kate Gosselin‘s “happiest memories and moments over the past decade” via Kate Plus 8: Kate’s Memorable 30’s on Monday. I have a hard time believing there’s three hours worth of Kate being happy, but I digress. Also this week, Big Brother 17 premieres Wednesday and Thursday. Check out the house and meet the houseguests.
Check out the reality TV listings list, which includes the Watch What Happens Live guests for the week, and let us know what you plan to watch.
A lot of time was spent on Vicki and Tamra, and the poll was, Vicki and Tamra: forever friends or never again?
When asked if she was bothered when Tamra said Jeana Keough was a good friend to her this year, Vicki said, “It didn’t bother me. Jeana’s definitely always in people’s business, so it was a normal thing for her to be in her business.” Andy called attention to the shade. “It is what it is,” she added. “Jeana was very helpful to Tamra and I was not.”
Lisa Nicole defended her decision to run a background check on Quad during Married to Medicine, tweeting, “Background checks are a standard business protocol in business. No malice intended.”
On WWHL, Quad replied, “I think that’s a good cover for She Who Shall Not Be Named. We all saw my investors last season and she was not one of them. We were not doing business together whatsoever. She actually wanted a little something to go into the reunion with last year, but you will catch that tea later.”
BethennyFrankel turned the tables on Andy Cohen for a special segment of Watch What Happens Live. He dished on casting mistakes he’s made, which franchise has the most behind-the-scenes drama, whose fans he worries about burning down his house, and more.
Bethenny asked Andy, thinking back to the first season of Real Housewives of Orange County, did he think it would be as big as it is today. He said the possibility hit him in season two when Matt and Jeana Keough‘s marriage fell apart. “I was like, this is like a soap opera. Like, I care about Jeana, and things are not going well for her.”
On reality TV being blamed for the demise of so many marriages, Andy shared, “I think it has accelerated marriages that weren’t working. I’ve talked to Tamra [Judge] about this. I’ve talked to Vicki [Gunvalson] about this. They were in a relationship that wasn’t working. They saw it replayed on TV, and were like, ‘Wow, this is really bad.’ They had a chorus of people saying ‘dump him, dump him’ and they actually had the balls to do it.”
