According to a new report, the Bravo network is actively casting for the Real Housewives of New York.

With the fourth season currently on the air, the NY Post reports the producers of the show are desperately trying to recruit a new cast of “beautiful, well-connected and wealthy women for the next season.”

This comes weeks after sources revealed the network was seriously considering replacing the entire cast which includes Jill Zarin, Alex McCord, LuAnn de Lesseps, Ramona Singer and others. The execs are reportedly trying to find women with more wealth and glamour a la the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.

In fact the show producers reportedly asked two NY women, p.r. mavens Alison Brod and Di Petroff, to join the cast though they have both declined.

Bravo casting for the upcoming season of the NY housewives is not out of the norm as next season will begin filming towards the end of the summer. It is however unlikely that the network will replace the entire cast as we reported 2 weeks ago that the ratings for this season have been pretty good, even showing a slight increase from last year with Bethenny frankel on the cast.

My bet is on Bravo replacing one or two of the cast members, more than likely Cindy Barshop and Kelly Bensimon. The reasons? Well Cindy is self-explanatory and Kelly has been sorta sane thus boring this season.

In other NY news, a judge ruled against Sonja Morgan once again in her bankruptcy legal drama. After filing bankruptcy last year following a $7 million judgement against her, the NY Post is reporting Sonja lost a court battle in her bid to get her former lawyers to pay her millions for alleged malpractice.

Hannibal Pictures won the $7 mil judgement against Sonja last year after she failed to fund a John Travolta film, as she originally agreed. Sonja in return sued the lawyers who represented her in the case citing malpractice. However last Thursday, an arbitrator denied Sonja any payout.

“I don’t agree with the judgment. I’m shocked,” said Sonja to the Post. When asked how she will pay off the $7 mil debt, Sonja responded, “I don’t know. I’m a hard worker. I’ll survive. I’ve got to meet with my advisers.” In court docs, Sonja listed herself as a “television personality” with an income of $26,000 a month.

And following Jill Zarin’s big revelation yesterday that Mario Singer shoved her during a confrontation, Ramona has come out denying Jill’s version of events. Ramona admits Mario confronted Jill about “making up stories,” about her but denies it ever got physical. And a look at the comments posted on the E! and PEOPLE.com stories show majority of fans do not believe Jill.

And finally RadarOnline uncovered some before photos of the Countess herself aka LuAnn including an old modeling pic, and those photos are below!

jon-gosselin

It seems Jon Gosselin is tired of all the negative attention he’s been receiving recently. He now claims to want out of Jon & Kate Plus 8, the same show that made him famous.

“I wish I had a 9 to 5 job instead of the nightmare I’m living. This is 24/7,” he told Usmagazine outside his $1.1 million Pennsylvania home Monday. “I don’t even want to do taping for the show anymore.”

Jon goes on to say he’s stuck filming and doing promotional appearances to make as much money as possible. According to a source, Jon is also suspicious of Kate hiding money ahead of their divorce proceedings. The couple makes an estimated $75,000 per episode.

“I have two houses and eight children to take care of and I need to work,” Jon told US.

Jon went on to tape Jon & Kate Plus 8 with the kids later on that day. The family threw a fundraising lemonade stand.

Interestingly, most of the negative attention was brought on by none other than Jon himself. His sudden desire to want to quit Jon & Kate Plus 8 might also have to do with the rumors of a new reality show. He allegedly has plans to appear on a reality show titled “Divorced Dad’s Club”

ramona-singer-haircut

The Real Housewives of New York’s crazyeyes Ramona Singer is dishing on her new haircut.

Ramona debuted her softer, cropped coif last weekend at the closing day of the Mercedes-Benz Polo Challenge at Blue Star Jets Field in Bridgehampton.

“I’m renewing myself,” Ramona said to PEOPLE, “I went to Oscar Blandi and I wanted to get my hair trimmed. I needed a new look. And he said, ‘Okay, how short are you willing to go with it?’”

“I never have it short,” said Ramona. “And I said, here, at the shoulder,” she explains. “He said, ‘Do you trust me?’” And the end result was worth the risk, according to Ramona. “Afterward I said, ‘Oh, my God, I feel like an older Cameron Diaz‘ — very sexy and chic and young and hip. I loved it.

Not too crazy about the new haircut but it was time for the bangs to go.  Bravo plans to start filming season 3 of the NY housewives soon.

Lynne_Curtin

Could a divorce be on the horizon for Lynne Curtin and husband Frank Curtin? According to RadarOnline, the answer is yes.

Radar is reporting The Real Housewives of Orange County star threatened Frank that she is going to file for divorce. One of the reasons being due to their recent financial meltdown. We have previously reported Lynne and Frank received an eviction notice, due to unpaid rent expenses in the amount of $12,000.

The source says Frank has had trouble finding work for two years as the economy has hurt his construction business. “Frank is distraught over Lynne’s threat to file for divorce,” the source continued.

According to the source, Lynne blames Frank for all their financial problems because she feels he’s been hiding the bills from her. Frank is alleged to be distraught over this, as he does not want a divorce.

You have to wonder why Teresa Giudice’s husband, Joe Giudice and his construction business didn’t seem too affected by the bad economy on The Real Housewives of New Jersey.
