Though Maksim Chmerkovskiy and his dancing partner Debi Mazar were eliminated two weeks ago from Dancing With The Stars , he will be returning this week. Usmagazine confirms that Derek Hough has temporarily left the reality competition due to an illness. Maks will assist Derek’s partner Joanna Krupa during rehearsals. However, it is not known who her on air partner will be during Monday’s show.
This past Thursday, Derek took to his twitter page and wrote “I think I’m getting the [flu],” he wrote, noting “serious sweats . . . My whole body is aching like crazy I can barely stand up . . . And I’m coughing like crazy.”
A few hours later, he wrote of his doctor’s visit. “Had a temperature of 104 . . . Had a n IV in my arm for 2 hrs . . . Maks is steppin up for me helpin jo . . “
Maksim’s return may seem awkward since his ex-fiancéeKarina Smirnoff (they broke off their engagement last month) is still present on the show.
“It feels great, because I’m with the right person,” says Bethenny. “He’s may be regretting it because it’s been beyond a week and he’s in panic mode – [but] no, we’re enjoying it.
Jason’s proposal caught Bethenny off guard. Bethenny returned home after shooting Housewives and promoting her Skinny Girl Magaritas to find over a hundred lit votive candles and rose petals across the hallway of her apartment. Jason dressed up Bethenny’s pooch Cookie in a pink bow. He then got down on one knee and asked her to marry him.
Bethenny’s ring is an 8-carat sparkler with a 6 ½-carat pear-shaped center stone flanked by two side stones from Manhattan jeweler Kristin Farrell.
Bethenny jokes, “I made him pick them up. This was the first thing we had to resolve.”
The couple who first met in December 2008 at the Tenjune nightclub have yet to set a wedding date.

In a recent interview with Essence, Sheree reveals her plans to relocate, talks about her fashion line, and whether she’d be back for the third season.
Below are excerpts from Sheree’s new interview:
ESSENCE.COM: Congrats on your first fashion show in New York. What did you take away from the experience? SHEREE WHITFIELD: It was amazing. It was my way to test my line in the New York market, the world’s fashion capital. I got a lot of positive feedback and support from the fashion industry. You really have to be hands on. I feel like I need to move to New York to really be there. I tried here in Atlanta and it really did not work and it went well in New York, but I had to go back and forth a lot. I love it in New York and would love to live there and still keep a place in Atlanta when I want to slow down.
ESSENCE.COM: Back in Atlanta you had a little help from Dwight with your other show. SHEREE WHITFIELD: Working with Dwight was okay, but it came off like he did a lot more than he did. He came in on the last week and had some great ideas, but I also had some people in from New York working on it already. We pulled it off and it was awesome. I saw what he was saying in the confessional and was like, “Wow, you didn’t do this by yourself, honey.”
ESSENCE.COM: During your appearance on “Ellen,” you and Kim went at it. Any chance you’ll mend your friendship? SHEREE WHITFIELD: That piece of trash! Kim loves attention. TV made me and Kim’s relationship seem different than it was. She and I were never friends. I don’t believe in messing with married men. If she can do that to someone else, she’s no one that I would ever really hang out with. She’s on TV and doesn’t feel bad messing with a married man. How dumb can you be? Those vows are sacred.
However the lawsuit TLC filed against Jon on Friday tells a different story. In the suit filed, TLC alleges that Jon only decided to remove his kids after producers refused to give into his attorney’s demand to let him out of his exclusivity contract.
People reports that TLC attempted to resolve the issues with Jon but was unsuccessful. This led to TLC later announcing that the show would now focus on Kate as a single mother, re-launching it as Kate Plus 8.
RadarOnline also reveals more details about TLC’s lawsuit. TLC alleges Jon was receiving money for most his media appearances and every amount he received will come out in the suit. These paydays are in violation of his contract with the network, which has a clearly defined exclusivity clause.
Jon’s contract with TLC is valid until February 2010, even though the show is no longer filming. Jon also violated his contract by publicly bashing the network, and breaking the morals clause in his contract.
Jon’s Lawyer, Mark Heller, has called the allegations “weak, feeble and baseless” . In addition, he says the contract violated Jon’s First Amendment rights. “Discovery and TLC has treated Jon Gosselin like a dog by attempting to keep him on a leash and muzzle him and deny the father of eight an opportunity to earn a livelihood to support his family.”
Sonja is on the right in the above photo, and is described as a New York socialite who has traveled the globe. Her social circle includes European royalty and top-notch designers. In addition to modeling in Paris and Milan, Sonja worked for multiple restaurants as a consultant and manager. The single mother of one loves art, decorating, gardening, skiing and doesn’t miss an opportunity to visit France whether it’s for charity or pleasure.
Jennifer is described as a business woman who owns an event planning company called “Save the Date”. In addition, she co-owns the baby carrier company Portamee. She earned the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the year award at the age of 29. The mother of three has been married to her husband for seven years.
Veteran cast mates: Countess LuAnn de Lesseps, Bethenny Frankel, Kelly Killoren Bensimon, Alex McCord, Ramona Singer and Jill Zarin will return in season three which airs in 2010.
Despite the 2 new additions, it has been confirmed that Bethenny will appear on the show for the entire 3rd season.
The Real Housewives franchise has been a major hit for the Bravo network, as NBC Universal announced this week that it will begin airing the “Real Housewives” series five days a week in syndication beginning fall 2010.
Reruns of the series is expected to air weekdays on on NBC-owned stations. This is good news for Bravo, but no so much for the housewives as there have been several reports claiming the ladies will not be receiving a dime from the syndication profits.
The reason being because the ladies are on a reality show, and are not considered actors or SAG members. Therefore, they are not entitled to syndication checks. They only get paid while taping. The Atlanta housewives allegedly got paid $100,000 each for their 2nd season.
As expected, the ladies are not happy with this news and some allegedly would like to sue. Nene One of the ladies from the Atlanta franchise gave the following quote to Atlanta blogger FreddyO -
“This is some bull shit, we’ve been fighting their as* for the longest to keep the show from going to syndication without us making a dime … Damn, we not getting a dime and they making all the money… WOW … They can play the show forever and we will never get a check that aint right”
Something about this seems rather unfair, but then again the ladies signed the contracts.
Tell Us: Do You Think The Ladies Deserve A Cut Of The Syndication Profits? Should They Sue?
A story about Jon Gosselin allegedly hacking into Kate‘s email accounts and admitting to taking $155,000 out of their joint account was about to be published this morning until news broke that TLC has decided to sue Jon for breach of contract. The moral of this story is the Gosselin drama is never ending.
According to the HuffingtonPost, the TLC network filed a lawsuit Friday in Maryland against Jon for breaching his contract as star of the reality show “Jon & Kate Plus 8.”
The lawsuit alleges that Jon hasn’t met the obligations of his contract as an exclusive employee, has appeared on other programs for pay and made unauthorized disclosures about the show. RadarOnline reports TLC has hired Williams & Connolly, one of the best law firms in the country.
In other news, Jon finally admitted to taking $155,000 out of the joint account he shares with Kate, and has now promised to return it. Perhaps because he is now required to due to a Judge’s order on Tuesday. Jon had previously denied taking this amount of money, and even went as far as to call Kate’s story “A total fabrication.” He previously said, “I withdrew $22,000 last Thursday. I have the paper trail to prove it.”
Finally, Jon’s former nanny and ex-lover, Stephanie Santoro has come out accusing Jon of hacking into Kate’s personal accounts. Stephanie claims Jon bragged about this and threatened to use the information he found against Kate.
Kate is reportedly considering legal action against Jon. Her law firm released the following statement below –
“Kate Gosselin has heard the allegations made by Stephanie Santoro that Jon Gosselin ‘hacked’ into her e-mails, phone, and online accounts, and she is profoundly disturbed by them,” her law firm, Schnader Harrison Segal & Lewis, said in a statement Thursday. “Under the circumstances, Ms. Gosselin is carefully considering all of her legal options regarding this matter, and she will pursue them if and when the time is right.”
